Hmm, how close is the base portal? The BM at Capple Dapple is just *so* damned convenient- Ferry, Vanguard base, AE, base portal (and when I have everything on me and don't need to access my salvage bins) the Uni. Also, the Fateweaver, vendor for selling trash, and a trainer.

Has anyone seen where they placed the danishes? -
From the nice folks at coh.titan. It integrates with City Information Tracker if you're into the badge thing, though I only use it to export "as-is" in-game builds to Mids. It also tracks Day Job progress.
http://cit.cohtitan.com/sentinel/
Start Sentinel and Mids, then start CoH. Once you log into the world, tab and go to Tools on Sentinel and export. It takes the live character info and builds a Mids data chunk.
Then tab over to Mids and import, just like you were copying a data chunk from the forum. Voila! (No, it doesn't work the other way- you can't use a Mid's build and /respec your character.)

Here is my "less sophisticated" Gaslamp Golem costume. He'll get the nice shiny one once he's been "overhauled" (i.e. get high level.)
-
That sounds very much like what we're looking for, since some of our members have origins based in 1930s pulp adventure novels. I'd love to see your base!
-
you can always check your live build by loading Sentinel and grabbing your build from in-game, then pasting it into Mids and checking "Set Totals." It will flag any bonuses breaking the rule of 5.

I was looking for something else in the "Show your base pictures" thread and came across this:
http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...crettunnel.jpg
This boggles my mind. Never in a MILLION years would I have thought this possible. -
Oh yes, fell in love with many items in the thread the teleporter customization was in (I *did* search for "steampunk" in the forum, after all.
) There were some other shots of a really warm wood walled room as well that I liked, and I had actually come back to the thread to ask about the stone fireplace I saw (perhaps in that Youtube video?)
I was thinking of using the arcane teleporters in the base at first, but a good way to distinguish between regular zones and hazard zones would be to use different types of teleporters. Perhaps the giant walk-through mouth to mark the line between "regular social club" and "superhero base," switching from wood to stone?
EDIT: Thinking of an Egyptian/Babylonian motif for the "secret" area. -
Give me a shout in-game and we'll bandy ideas about. I don't want to go all dark and dreary stone, I want to have some nice wood floors and paneling 19th Century "gentlemen's society" parts to it as well. I started a thread in the base construction forum. We can discuss it there to avoid this thread turning into a "topic hydra."
Also, welcome Captain Hawker as the newest member of The Anachronism Society!
And lastly, I've purchased a domain name and freed up some space on my webserver account. We will have a site up by tomorrow night! I'm using this as an opportunity to install the Dolphin social networking app and see how it works. Announcement soon! -
I saw some great ideas in a Youtube video of a VG base (made by the fellow who made the stacking video,) but more info/different points of view are always nice to have. I'm helping revive a steampunk SG that has no base, and before I go trying to Google plans for 19th century London brownstones, thought I'd see what was actually possible, and what others had accomplished. (Also, googling *anything* containing the phrase "gentlemen's club" is ASKING for trouble!)
So, show off your Victorian/steampunk stuff here! -
I didn't get on until late last night, but Goblin Queen and I hashed out some ideas (some of which we aren't *quite* ready to reveal yet.)
What we can say is that Anachronism Society remains open to all steampunk/gaslamp fantasy characters (mid-19th Century to 1930s.) All present members are "grandfathered in" regardless of character. Anything from Jules Verne/H.G. Wells inspired to 30s "pulp novels" like Doc Savage or The Shadow is allowed.
There will NOT be "RP Police" concerning daily activity (we believe that trying to "force" people to play only in a certain way is not fun for anyone involved) but we WILL "lead by example" and encourage people to RP as much as they are comfortable with. However, new members will be required to have steampunk-themed characters and names, and also a short bio/background story. Work will soon begin on a base.
As a counter to AS, there will be an as-yet unnamed villain group that will be solely for "Girl Genius" -inspired mad scientists and their constructions. This will be the place for your "FOOLS! I'll show them ALL!" characters, as opposed to the "gentlemen adventurer" vibe of the Anachronism Society.
I will soon be setting up a site that will be shared by both groups (with portions open to all steampunk/gaslamp fantasy players,) but in the meantime, please use this thread to share ideas, costumes, etc. -
I've been doing so in the "MA/SR in progress" thread, but I don't think the last build posted there is my current plan. Once I go back to the drawing board and build less for recovery and more for recharge and damage, I'll post again and ask for improvements.
-
Quote:This is for a separate character concept I have: A "Girl Genius" -inspired Jagermonster. I recently got my Cardiac slotted in my MA/SR, so I am going back yet again to rework the end-game build to not need so much recovery. One thing is that I've become addicted to Hasten now, so want to get the recharge and damage boosted some, at the expense of recovery and regen.I might suggest FM/SD - but my first suggestion would be to post your MA/SR build and see if people can't help you tweak that build first.

More and more, as I browse the market looking for a niche, I find that the recipe prices + salvage+crafting cost are nearly the same as the crafted item. Sometimes the recipe cost and crafted cost are the same!
Have more people "learned to market" as inflation has hit the game, or is the market being biased towards level 50 items due to all the 50s being run for incarnate content and shard hunting? Most of the sub-max level items aren't moving at all, comparatively.
(Note that I didn't look at purples other than a glance, as I can't afford to trade in them and have yet to have one drop.) -
I'm sure this has been said many times, but I have to ask for "beam" type effects for Energy Blast instead of the firehose-shooting-bubbles animation we have. I don't know if the rumors from beta that this was supposed to be some sort of "water blast" power set that had it's name changed are true, but my 5th NRG/NRG blaster is sitting unused, because I can't get past the animations. I've tried retinting them, and recently logged him in to check for different animations when I saw that Radiation got an animation switch to move the eye beams to the hands, but of course nothing's been done for Energy.
Just use the animation you've *already made* for Rad, have it able to be used by one hand or two, maybe thicken the beams some. Perhaps even have Power Burst come from the chest? -
Managed to loot 5 shards off zombie attacks and banner fights tonight, and got my Cardiac Alpha crafted.
I want to marry it. -
Wow your MA/SR is much better than mine. After two or three bifurcations, I couldn't even move his health bar. Once I killed them all off, and kept them dead, it was easy though.

I'm down to trying to decide whether to go BS/ scrapper or BA/ brute on my next toon. I've never tried /WP, so that's where I'm heading on the secondary for this guy. I have a MA/SR, and I'm thinking there has to be higher DPS ST melee toons out there. Maybe it's just "grass is greener" syndrome, but it seems a lot of folks drop stuff faster than I do.
So, since I've settled on /WP, the choice is brute or scrapper, BA or BS? Aesthetically, I'm tending toward BS, but only by a smidgeon. Also, I've never played Katana, so I *might* consider that as well, but really looking for big ugly orange numbers and the sounds that do them justice.
(cross-posted in the brute forum) -

Just curious (since I'm a total noob in IO set knowledge) but what would you think is better at the job than this Panacea proc? Just normal regen bonuses?
-
My global is Dr Occult, btw. I'll probably take a stab at another Jagermonster character, and have ideas for one or two others.

Forgot to add the link. There's a handy dandy hierarchy chart at the back of the article: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...6990,2879.html

Ran a couple missions tonight using generic defense IOs and purple cookies when needed to shore up defenses, and other than muscle memory messing up my chain, I have to say leaning on the Haste button whenever it was up made things very nice. Guess I'll be keeping it.
I may just start over on the build, working towards recovery and recharge, perhaps to the point where I can go radial musclature and have enough end redux along with damage, instead of cardiac. /SR is so easy to softcap, I should be able to twist things around even if I need to use set mules. -
That would be great, having an established group already on blueside. How many still play their alts in this group?

I'd *love* to see more Nemesis stuff, and especially access to costume pieces. Victorian uniforms as mentioned above, also pith helmets (aka safari helmets) for the "explorer" look. Peaked pith helmets can double as English "Bobbie" police helmets.
One way to give players a "steampunk military" option that would be different from actual Nemesis parts would be shako hats with plumes (can double as band uniforms with the inclusion of 19th century uniform coats) or Uhlan hats (chapkas). (In case devs don't want us totally mimicing Nemesis troops.)
Here's a nice illustration of Uhlans, showing a good representation of a 19th Century military uniform:
also, PLEASE give us NORMAL epaulettes! Also please note that most formal military dress uniforms are very much like 19th Century uniforms.
