Steampunk base ideas?
I looked at this website: http://www.ivygateblog.com/2009/05/j...side-the-hall/
scrolld ownt o the picture of the bar with the old brownstone arches. thats pretty cool. but anything like secret society meeting hall, or temple may yield more positive results.
also, i google'd the adventurers club.. an old nightclub at Disney world. and withthe addition of a few tech and sewer stuff, one could definitly turn these pics into steampunk/gaslamp styled bases

Good stuff! Sifting through the forums I found this thread and it's pretty amazing.

A few incredible images from that thread:
Teleporter Pads (beats the snot out of the default options we have)
Time Machine for Crystal of Ice and Flame:
These screenshots are from another thread and are of a nice Victorian Library, although I would probably change the lighting and wood tones, it's pretty awesome nonetheless!

The Queen's Menagerie
Oh yes, fell in love with many items in the thread the teleporter customization was in (I *did* search for "steampunk" in the forum, after all. ) There were some other shots of a really warm wood walled room as well that I liked, and I had actually come back to the thread to ask about the stone fireplace I saw (perhaps in that Youtube video?)
I was thinking of using the arcane teleporters in the base at first, but a good way to distinguish between regular zones and hazard zones would be to use different types of teleporters. Perhaps the giant walk-through mouth to mark the line between "regular social club" and "superhero base," switching from wood to stone?
EDIT: Thinking of an Egyptian/Babylonian motif for the "secret" area.
I was looking for something else in the "Show your base pictures" thread and came across this:

This boggles my mind. Never in a MILLION years would I have thought this possible.
Doctor, feel free to message me in game @Draevon and I can show you a little what I have done in my base and give you some ideas. My SG is not steampunk based but uses steampunk as an aesthetic. A modern Steampunk Lovecraft meets Sherlock Holmes Noir is more our style but, it may help with some of the more unique prospects.
That sounds very much like what we're looking for, since some of our members have origins based in 1930s pulp adventure novels. I'd love to see your base!
I've seen his base. In fact, I'm coalitioned with his SG on another toon of mine. It's awesome. :-D

Everyone needs to bug Straenge to give you a tour of his base. I was completely blown away.
Hey Dr Occult,
I was showing you what i had done in my blue side supergroup Champions of Valor and after you were asking about a house design. Well, an sg that i'm a leader in has one I wanted to show you, its the Warriors of OZ supergroup and along with the other 2 leaders we made dorothy's house, the one that fell on the witch in part of the base. Screenshot below:
The house walls are made out of book shelves. The framing beneath the house out of desks, with a railing done in tech lamps. The roof is made of those steel tech stairs, the drapes are arcane tp beacons, and the house door is one of those bathroom doors stuck between the wood that makes the walls. Inside it has a kitchen and living room, and stairs leading up to a second floor bedroom. For a better description and a better look you can get me to give you a tour later.
The Warriors of OZ base itself is really huge. It was made back in i12 on the test server and uses elements of both i12 and i13, it even has the old double wide doors you cannot do any more. It comes complete with good and evil witch areas, yellow brick road, air balloon, flying monkey island, dorothy's house, wizards area, a few boats and a maze.
For anyone that has not seen my work, below is my photobucket collection with a bunch of screenshots of my self created blue side supergroup Champions of Valor. My Champions of Valor supergroup comes complete with graveyard, vault, waterfall, arcane elevators, library, double sided banner labels at key door sections, a few hidden passages, meeting room, common quarters, storage rooms, and bosses quarters (2 rooms still under construction). The screen shots are not complete and up to date, so if you want a better look at it or to see my updates just message me in game for a tour some time.

Hey Minos! Thanks again for the tour! I'm going to study this screenshot over lunch, thanks for posting it! GQ, you *have* to see some of the things he's done!
Holyshi did I use enough exclamation marks?!
Everyone should check out how Minos has used various defense items in his base. "Slow fields as water" doesn't even scratch the surface!
I like this one, especially.
I saw some great ideas in a Youtube video of a VG base (made by the fellow who made the stacking video,) but more info/different points of view are always nice to have. I'm helping revive a steampunk SG that has no base, and before I go trying to Google plans for 19th century London brownstones, thought I'd see what was actually possible, and what others had accomplished. (Also, googling *anything* containing the phrase "gentlemen's club" is ASKING for trouble!)
So, show off your Victorian/steampunk stuff here!
