  1. Well we knew it was coming for some time now but the final nail has been put in the coffin for Stargate Worlds as MGM has pulled the license from Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment.

  2. I kind of want to pre-order it as the music I have heard so far sound great but $35 seems kind of high. Plus, why would I need the digital album if it comes with the physical album?
  3. Any thoughts on what Rush said Destiny's mission is? The main thing I would ask is how far away they are from actually completeling that mission considering how large the universe is.

Umm, I don't think it is really Eli that he has to worry about offing him...
  5. Just a quick heads up that because Caprica got axed with episodes being delayed immediately, their replay time after Sanctuary now appears to be used by SGU replaying Tuesday's episode.
  6. I gave up on G4 years ago mainly when they changed to having a seperate east coast and west coast feed. Not a big fan of the whole live show being simply a replay when it used to be live for everyone. As it is, I don't have a reason to watch G4 anymore and I completely understand DirecTV dropping the channel seeing no value. 1/5 of their programming is Cops with Campus PD and Cheaters combined some days to make up another 1/5. AOTS alone makes up another 1/5 with the 4 times it airs during the day.

I think the only show I might watch now is Effin Science but why watch that when there is Mythbusters.

Judging by the ratings, you are not alone. Canada still has it at the same time as it used to be on and the ratings from them are about the same as last season. For the US though, the ratings have dropped with the shift to Tuesday night showing that the audience more than likely did not shift with the show. They tried to reason that switching wrestling to Friday would help since two of their most successful shows were on Tuesdays but all that it has done is hurt the shows seeing how Stargate has been on Friday for a long time.

If anyone is interested, the descriptions and titles for the next 4 episodes can be found here. Not sure how I feel about a couple of the things that going to happen.
  8. Blockbuster has been doing that a bit with saying that they have stuff a month before Netflix and Redbox. The whole 30 day delay just has something to do with the contracts that were signed regarding digital distribution. I mentioned it before but if anyone wants it, I know of a place that keeps up a constant list of links to videos online.
  9. Well we still don't know if the ship is actually projecting Franklin or if he is being implanted into Rush's mind similarly to how Young was seeing the battle simulations in his dreams. Next week is bound to have some conflict between Rush and Young again.

It was interesting to see Young have that complete breakdown after giving Chloe up in the third dream where he was just rolling on the floor laughing as all hell broke loose on the rest of the ship.
  10. I know these threads aren't really getting used as much now compared to when they used to but apparent;y the episode that just started for the east coast is one that is considered a game changer. Last week we got more proof that Chloe still is changing and this week, the aliens seemingly come to get her. Also, Young ends his decent to rock bottom as well.

Gateworld put up an article that outlines some basic things that are coming up in the next few episodes.

io9 has a sneak peak at this episode, Trial and Error

There was also an outtake from the episode Awakening that features Lou Diamond Phillips and one of the aliens. Definitely a good long look at one of those aliens he was left behind with. Article also includes how it was made.
  11. In case anyone is interested, an inside look at the title sequence can be found here. Rather interesting composition of 2D art placed in 3D space inside of After Effects.
  12. In terms of SGU, there should be more on Young in the next episode based on the clip that Syfy released. It pretty much showed him talking to TJ with it clear that something was bugging him to which he revealed his wife wants a divorce. The official description actually says that he starts doubting his ability to lead the mission after having what he believes are prophetic dreams of Destiny being destroyed. Next episode after that, the secret Rush has been keeping is let out of the bag.
  13. The footage as they escape the grid was actually one of the clips shown at Tron Night except Tron Night's was longer.
  14. This doesn't surprise me at all really. I have tried watching this second half of the season and it first of all didn't get me to fully pay attention when it is on and then it was jumping all over the place so I was left not knowing exactly what was happening.
  15. To add to the hulu thing, they have stopped airing the show at other times like before a new episode. I know they have had the show air after midnight on another shows main night but I can't seem to find anything about it in the schedule. Good thing on the other hand though is that Sanctuary isn't fully abandoned as it got it's second airing on Friday nights back after last week ditched it in favor of replays of The Event.

You better hurry up if you want to catch the Chase 1st episode, expires in 4 days.
Just went to the SGU page on Hulu and it currently says this:

    Availability:
Five episodes are available at a time.
The first 3 episodes of the new season will be available the day after their original airdates.
Subsequent episodes will become available 30 days after their original airdates.
  17. Well I do know of a forum that posts links to flash versions of the shows if any one wants it. I have used the place to watch Doctor Who for a couple seasons now as they would get the episodes online in only a few hours at a decent quality.
  18. Well I guess a thread isn't really needed much these days seeing as it has been 2 days since the episode aired. Not a real ground breaking episode but it does bring forth a subplot that will go on for a while longer.

So there are only a handful of episodes left before the mid season break that starts in December. Starting this week, episodes will not be put online until 30 days after they originally air meaning you either have to catch it live, record it on a DVR, or some other method.

Indeed. If it is that he won't give anyone else permission to continue it, then it will be a while since he is currently working on MI4. Add in the time it takes to actually go through production on an animation film and you are looking at possibly a 4 year time span between now and when it might come out if he went right to that after MI4.

To sidestep into other brief Pixar news, the release of the Cars 2 teaser has confirmed that Lasseter is back to direct. Earlier this year it was announced that he was spending more time up at Pixar rather than Disney Animation because of story problems. That soon turned into a co-director role but it would seem that he has bumped the original director back to co-director.

In the past couple weeks, word has been going around that Brenda Chapman stepped away from Brave and left Pixar. Today brought word that she had indeed stepped down from the director spot on Brave because of creative reasons but she will not be leaving the studio.
  20. Regarding Telford, Lou Diamond Phillips couldn't officially say anything about his fate but he did have this to say.

Guys, you know I can't tweet spoilers about Telford's fate & his future w the aliens!...BTW the weather here in Vancouver has been great!
    via Twitter

Then again, we already pretty much knew that Telford would be back at some point. That just means he makes his appearance sometime in the second half at the latest.

  22. If anyone is interested, the promo shots for the next episode have been released and io9 has them in this gallery. Syfy also has a sneak peak of the episode showing Chloe working on a console in some sort of trance then Eli and Scott talking about her odd behavior.. We all know Chloe has been healing at a rapid rate and it looks like it starts affecting her mentally in the next episode.
  23. Here is a still image of the alien if anyone is interested.

Gateworld posted it along with an article pointing out that SGU saw a 14% rebound in viewership after a low start on the new night. The season started with 1.175 million followed by 1.07 million while Canada had relatively normal ratings so far. This episode came in at 1.222 million compared to the previous weeks.
  24. Once again we have someone getting left behind but this time on a stargate seeder ship with some new aliens that don't speak English. I wonder how long it will be till they get Telford back onto Destiny. Oh, and there was another musical montage to finish off the episode. Next week we will get more info on why Chloe is suddenly regenerating at an extremely high rate.
