The PvEer wants me to leave him alone so he can get his badges. The only way I can get any credit towards MY badge is by killing him.

He is the ONLY person of the opposite faction in any of the PvP zones on my server. And Arena kills don't count towards the rep badge.

So, because he asked to be left alone I'm supposed to accept that he is somehow more deserving of his badge than I am?
And what will you do when they leave because you are attacking them? You get nothing other than the first kill either way. What are you really losing if you leave them alone?

If you see them attacking other players and don't want you to bother them while they do it, that's a different matter entirely. In that case, I'd say got for it.

The bad sport is the one that has to be a jerk about it. So far I've seen people on both side of this argument that would classify. I've known lots of players that have left the PvP zones complaining of the attitude of the people there. Most of them never go back.
  2. I've had a hard drive fail and this. At this point I'd try putting the 80gig in and see if it will boot. If it does, it's likely that the 250gig has died
  3. You could pick up a game card for him. It wouldn't cost that much and would let him play for a month.

    Market revamp

I buy, craft and sell IOs in the market to fund my toons. I wouldn't be able to do this if there were not so many people willing to pay a high price for things. I'm not one of those people that pushs the price high. I list everything at my cost. It's not my fault that someone comes by and buys it at a much higher price. I like it when they do, but I didn't force them to do that.

The market was set up as a true free market system. Supply and demand set the price for things. If you don't like the price of something, don't buy it. If things don't sell, the price will come down. If someone is too lazy to find the items by playing the game or crafting the IO, they only have themselves to blame for paying a very high price.
  5. I put "I don't take blind invites" in all of mine. I've found that if a person can't be bothered to send a tell, the team most likely will not stick together for long. I wont even touch the fact that I've gotten more debt from the blind invite teams than I have from any other. I don't care if I level fast, I just don't like getting beat down because the team doesn't work well together.
  6. If you think they are bad sports, why waste your time with them? Just move on to someone that will enjoy PvPing with you. Then both of you will have a better time.
  7. If it doesn't work, you could try asking an SG mate or friend if they have a spare. I know I've got a few (12+ of them) that I've picked up
  8. I hate to say it, but it's things like this that give the PvP community the reputation of being jerks. Yes, he was in a PvP zone and it's not against the rules to attack him. You would have done well to not argue with him over what is allowed, but just said "Ok, once the AVs are down, I'll be back." He would have been happy and you wouldn't have to deal with an argument like that.

I've always thought that having PvE things in the PvP zones was a bad idea. I understand that the Devs wanted to give people a reason to go there, but all it does is lead to people getting pissed off. It doesn't get the PvEers to PvP.

The number of gold farmers selling inf for real money says that there is a real world value to an ingame currency. All a lawyer has to do is prove that real money can be traded for ingame money.

I'm not saying that I think NCSoft would lose a case like this, but would they want to deal with the mess till they won? Credit card companies are required by law to block payments to online gambling sites. If NCSoft get marked as a gambling company, all credit card payments would be blocked till they could prove that they were not. We are talking a lot of lost subscription payments till the courts clear NCSoft. Would you put up with having to buy time cards from your local store (if they carry them) to keep playing the game?

It can be argued that our monthly subscription fee is what we are using to fund the betting. All it would take is for one prosecutor to make this claim and the credit card companies would start blocking any charge made by NCSoft till the case is resolved.
  11. There are places where internet gambling are illegal. Adding ingame betting would create a huge legal nightmare for NCSoft.

I was solo on a defender the first time I ran this mission. That floor was the longest 4 hours of my life, but I did it.

Still. Good to see the 5th have been around since day one
I chuckled when I saw Shape Shifting near the end of the list of powers
  14. You forget that Salt Lake was described as very nice a helpful when they had the Winter Olympics 8 years ago. Personally I think it's just something that is common in this part of the continent.
  15. I don't have any trouble finding RP. I think there is a lot of DXP Weekend burnout today though. You could try Pocket D. There are people there almost all the time, but the RP is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great. Other times I can't get out of there fast enough.
  16. It's weird, I was logging in and out during this time without any trouble. Makes me wonder if there was some other reason why all of you couldn't log in.
  17. It's just there for fun. Even when you get the buff pets, they don't give you much so that they don't make you over-powered.

    The Boot Myth

Let's see, I've had my arch/rad defender kicked from an AV team because "arrows suck." My kin was kicked from a lvl5 team because I didn't have SB. Same kin was kicked from a team because the tank said I wasn't giving him SB when he called for it (It was set on auto and I was targeting the tank.) They didn't like it when I told them that multiple SBs from one person doesn't stack. They just said that I don't know how to play. My scrapper got kicked from a team for doing a better job tanking than the tank. He would just stand there and wait for the blaster to shoot first. The blaster threatened to quit the team if someone didn't start tanking because he was sick of getting killed.

    Dear [RP Virtue]

Wait.. this person got mad that the devs nerfed something that they said all along that they would nerf and then got mad at you for making a small joke? Sounds like you are not the one with the problem.

PvP has never been very popular in this game. In order to get more people to try it they changed how it worked. A large number of the PvPers left the game over it and the new players they were trying to get didn't care to try it. Now the number of PvPers are so low that it's hard for them to justify spending the money it would take to fix it.
  22. I don't farm and always have SG mode on. I have earned enough inf to buy 9 different purple sets. As of right now, my main toon is holding over 600mil in inf. I guess I just know how to earn all that I need and stay in SG mode.
  23. Let's just hope that it didn't go to a gold farmer.

    A bug in game

More people check Technical Issues and Bugs for things like this, but lets see what we can do.
I have a couple quick questions.
1: is it your toons that are missing names or did they get changed to something like Generic1112121.
2: Is it the names of the other heroes/villains around you that are missing?

If it's the first one, then the GMs decided that your names were a problem and were taken away. They would have sent an email to the one listed on your master account with a reason why.
If it's the second one, click on the Menu tab ingame then select Options. on the General tab go to Reticle. Make sure that Player Name is set to Show always.

If your problem is something else, we will need more information as to what the problem i.s
  25. I got my first 50 more than three years ago and I still play it all the time. The only reason to retire a toon is if you are bored of playing them.
