  1. You arreee a RP, aren't you?
I would suggest sharpening your pen and quickening your worded wit because elec//elec isn't optimal.

Edited to say I am sorry if I was harsh but I think its better to not mince words.

Played wow a lot. i gots a 80 ret pally geared with S2 and S3 stuff from whenever and a lock with decent stuff. That game's PvE and story is pretty good but the PvP is sooo bad cuz all fotms are one trick ponies that takes no brain to use especially in duels. Now Starcraft 2 is a different story

Why don't they just give assigned predetermined class roles. Why dont they do THAT in PVP here along with something like the 'Fried Chicken"? Because so far all they seem to do is piss people off that actually pvp in this game. Doncha think it would be about par for the course to add 3 or 4 things to INTEREST all players and be half done YET still fun?? Thats a better idea than 'Fried Chicken" arena option! WOW .. am on a roll!!

What are some more bright ideas to interest all walks of COX ( no pun intended)players to pvp?

Disclaimer: All you dev fanbois in beta... I know who you are.

Edited to change some phrasing so mod12 doesnt have a pms fit at me.
  3. Also? The suggestions in this thread are just stoopid except for Psoma's. Think about the potential of barnyard scratchfests in arena? That sounds pretty damn fun. You could add a whole new dimension for Rp'ers... do a barnyard match( have to add a new map) and the objective can be "Tame the rooster"!! The rooster can be ... HMMMMM I am not sure but something lustworthy and dont forget to add a badge or 2 as well.. Game ON!!! OO and then you could have an arena match named "Fried Chicken!!" Import the big lava map from Cap A diable trial and any player that falls in the lava gets "fried". Objective being the team that does the most damage to the boss in the middle wins. Those are good ideas ,all the npc's on that map look like fiery chickens so appropriate and there would be little coding involved . This "Fried Chicken" needs to be implemented A.S.A.P!

I am going to make sure and start a "Fried Chicken " thread in player suggestions. Please show your support for an objective based match with badges and a roleplaying aspect over in the appropriate subforum.Headed to " Player suggestions and Ideas " now!!

    APPs, OMG ^^

The disparity between app's and ppp's has been an ongoing issue for many players since ppp's hit the Isles. Back in the day many players stated dissatisfaction with ppp's. In fact? PPP's were basically labeled trash even in the beta of the issue in which they originated. PPP's are still the same but over two years later villians get app's. Players actually said, " This PPP stuff is crap compared to App's.. cant we just have those?" So? I guess there is hope for improvement if a player has an awful lot of patience. I have to add that a minor tweak here and there does not constitute an overhaul to actually make powers have more utility.

Please feel free to read my sig.

Also, I really dont know why MacSkull is still holding his breathe and getting boggled.

Welcome to Cox.... same story every day.Even years later. I am convinced there is a timewarp here .The game in a continuum where everything remains the same as just a few unimportant things are changed but the larger issues remain ignored.Throw on another issue and an expansion and call it all good.
  5. I didn't read all of this thread and don't want to read all this thread.

Op? Any player that makes a "pure" anything build is a player I likely wouldn't want to team with. I would imagine many of the " purists" are going to be sitting on their fannies thinking " WTF Just happenned!!??" when corruptors get a hold of Paragon. Thoughts such as " OMFG!! That dudes debuffing, buffing AND dooing DAMAGE ALL at once!!!" Most likely the outcry will focus on " defenders need a buff" in the beginning. Although I must say I have had the great pleasure of playing with many defenders not of that particular mindset who were awesome multitaskers. Hopefully the devs will be smart enough to ignore that general outcry and realize people need to be players. Any archetype can fill multiple roles on a team.. it's time for more players to figure that out. I see GR as a great way to emphasize the importance of non"purist" play.

One more thing.... I have had the distinct pleasure of playing with many hero non" purists". My observation is that villian players tend to be more likely to adopt that multitasking sort of pixel play.

    Peace out!

Sorry for any redundancey above. I had to deal with Hellmart school supply shopping today...
Edited to say.. If all a player is doing is " healing" and their AT has the capability to do other things AND heal then said player isn't playing their pixel( whatever the AT) to full potential.

Correct but it isn't "comfy". If you don't want to worry over juggling domination and hasten button shoot for 95% add hasten. So a total of 95% plus the 70% from hasten = 165% total.

Pvp io set bonuses act as purple sets as well. Meaning you can slot those types of sets in upper level powers and still retain their bonuses when exempted below the rule of three levels to which regular sets adhere.

I'm pretty sure my post info is correct but I may have missed a change or three while playing other games.

    Just started

My advice would be to reroll on a more active server. You are new so you have little invested in the game characterwise. You might have more fun on a more populated server in regards to finding teams and learning the ropes on a new character.

Hope you enjoy the city no matter where you choose to play!!
  9. Show me where my observations in my former post were unfounded. Simple.

It's great to have the epics and the powers are certainly welcome over pp's and long overdue. The epics will not transform dom's back into what they once were. I do not care to play the dominator archetype any longer as a result of the great revamp.Thats my story and I 'm stickin to it( without being rude).

edited to remove uneeded rudeness on my part.
  11. You guys do realize that with the great dom revamp and dominator damage cap as is that these new shiney powers do just about nothing, right? At least not for the average Joe. So don't get too comfortable.

Don't flame me.. I'm just stating the obvious. Sure , some of the epic choices add more utility in various play scenario's. But dominator's will never HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE be what they once were. In addition the only way for Doms to re-enter as viable farmers is with an hp cap increase. However, the new stuff does a great job of sticking doms in their designed niche as a support role. Positive note is pve still has support roles. Also? It's about time villians got epics. No matter what AT. That change was LONG overdue.

To the person above who commented about various villian AT's possibly being sited as outperforming their heroic counterparts? Thats the thing.... a conundrum if you will... villian archetypes have always outperformed their suppossed hero sister//brothers. In my opinion alot of it comes down to gameplay. As in how a player operates their archetype. Villian players tend to be more surefooted and quicker thinkers. The villianous archetypes are also designed with much more solo capability. Of course there will be an outcry when villian At's hit Atlas and show up those persnickety hero's who think EVERY team requires a tank and a healer to be successful. But I digress.... sorry for the threadjack in this last paragraph. Carry on.

edited to rephrase a comment and put it in capitals.

    Guardian WARS

Never any harm in friendly rivalries. You took those links waaayyyyyy tooo srsbsns. By the way? You are really cute when you're angry. I bet you have a sexay accent, huh? You can personally punish me anytime.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRVi0paZlfI

Honestly, my intention wasn't to trash any group. On an orginazation note the prior War's typically had 2 groups of 8 on standby ready and willing to switch sides to keep things balanced. Sometimes these teams simply switched sides. Sometimes they assisted with pb captures or the AV spawns. Having players do those things very much helped the event not turn into the typical base camping scenario. It also ensured that one side or the other did not dominate the entire event thus creating bad feelings and discouraging the success of future War's. Again, I hope the return of the War is a great success and commend you for attempting a revival.

Its a matter of setup with people who can do what you ask and leading on the fly, and not as easy as all that, so I'd suggest less talk and more action if you are asking for them in that way. Less talk and more 'Ill do this for you' to take some of the load off the people putting it together.

You got it,Babe. Where do I sign up Captain Q?
  15. Ok.. this won't get me any points but when did that ever bother me?

You don't need a plethora of nukes for this strat. Y'all already have the agro split required down perfectly. Just doo it . You have the people showing up and willing. Justice players are the best over all the servers. You can do it. Just take a minute to think so the organization suits you.

Before people bash me for this post please recall how many times I asked to do it this way last year.. take a minute to think.....refrain.

Yea... Im back and all that til Cata.

@Just Shadow/@Another Shadow, Super Group: "Dream Team"

As a person incremental to the original War ( no pun intended) I would suggest you contact sg leaders ingame. An awful lot of recruiting went on to make the WAR a success. Another draw was the rp factor Lalyn added with the whole advertisement thread. I really hope this event is a success but even back then with a larger game population as well as a larger pvp community on Guardian the event was a challenge to populate( much less manage). This type of thing is bigger than just show up and pew pew. Let me clarify.... on one hand you have people who show up just to come....then you have the people that are there for badges.... then you have the people that are there because they actually organized beforehand and want to kick hero or villian ***..... You get my point? It's a great event but alot of work. Kudo's to you for trying to bring it back!!

Edited because I went searching for the original thread with all the roleplay. Unfortunately the forum Monster ate it.

If my memory serves me correctly StrikeForce ( the sg) was created before COV ever existed. So get off your high horse,BB.Just because you weren't around to remember doesn't give you the right to be an ******. In addition, it's perfectly acceptable to start a new thread for recruitment. Op, good luck with garnering new members and have fun!

Obviously some amount of AFK activity is condoned as acceptable.

Probably more likely that pvp'ers dont ***** and moan like pve'ers and could care less about persnickety pve farms for a badge.

The other party began using hidden accounts to try and message us, and tried to get other people to send us tells, demanding that we speak to them...etc... It pretty much evolved into some extreme drama that was focused at one group of people in particular. From what I know, its still going on within an SG that this person joined, and the SG leader forbids anyone from placing them on ignore and generally thinks the behavior is okay. Its not.

And yes, petition every single time it happens. If you have them on gignore and they're following you around a zone, zoning with you, getting people to send you tells, petition.

I can trump that story. I once had a player pay lowbies in Atlas 1 million each to
message " You are a ( insert cword followed by bword add a fword and shamoo... add more)!!" to my global account. The funny
thing was many ended with " Im sorry I dont even know you. I just needed the influence."

Long story short the dude paying out all the cash for the harassment was a PVPEC member. Id get roughly 10 tells a night and if I wasnt quick with /ignore even more.

Lol and you guys wondered why I am a bit jaded and extremely no nonsense.

I would add to the op to take note of the times of the harassment and the character name and//or account name of the harrosor. If you can give them specific times and a name they can pull chatlogs and see for themselves.I would reccommend getting one screenie of incriminating dialogue and then an ignore if you actually want to see the player penalized.

This is a sad topic and its a shame it even has to be discussed. Just the basics are outlined in this thread. Harassment can be far more severe than many people realize. It will extend to and be incorporated by social networks ingame to label a player anathema whether justified or not.

This is a social game. The intranets feel as if they provide anonymity to some players. Only real solution is get a thick skin and take measures to avoid such people.

I also want to add the person was NOT a Justice player.

P.s. Mod12 leave my posts the **** alone unless you are going to leave the true context when editing. You are not in my head . Nor did you have my experience in game with harassment. QUIT changing things so that they read completely different than intended. You get a C- for your editing abilities.
  23. Im speaking the truth. Teleport foe on you to teleport you to a eneme drone. Try as many times as you want to and if you can get away once. I'll admit defeat and that was wrong and apologies to you all.

Just be happy you didnt get teleported on to an enema drone. Those things are brutal ;(.
  24. I didn't read all of this thread. I only want to add one remark. To all you people saying " Yay a 24 player encounter!" regarding the COP. Cop was always a multiteam encounter ( if you felt the need for 24 people because your sg//vg was full of dumbies that couldn't do it with less players or you wanted to be nice and include some extra people)there is absolutely NOTHING different about player number requirements as compaired to the old COP that I've read. Just pointing out the original also was up to 24 payers ( pun intended).

Edited to add: It's a load of malarkey they are readding COP for the pve crowd and completely negating the trials original origins tied to base raids and pvp.Slap in the face to the few remaing pvp'ers left in this game ,as well as all the base builders that actually spent 100 of millions on base items in preparation of ultimately housing and defending IOP's captured via the trial. Shame on you Devs.
