Elec/Elec Brute PvP build help?
You arreee a RP, aren't you?
I would suggest sharpening your pen and quickening your worded wit because elec//elec isn't optimal.
Edited to say I am sorry if I was harsh but I think its better to not mince words.
Aye, I know It is not optimal, that's why I requested at the least survivability.
And yea, I am RPer. :P I tend to avoid PvP whenever possible, though I am curious to see if anyone here can meet my challenge.
taunt webnadez hp

Um?
Whats your challenge? For someone to give you a build to make your suckass elec//elec a pvp contendor? Ok.... take taunt ... get a team.... learn to evade and use phase and self heals. Toss in webnades so your team can spike a target. Thats pretty much all you need . That work? You got one thing going for you. You have more HP than half the people that ask for the same things on these boards. If you dont like it... ask Castle why he screwed up pvp.
^^^^ not a RP.
edited to add you slot for max hp bonuses and some tohit. Youre damage will never even be a factor because your roll is a meatshield so your team picks off slow players.
Edited again to add a tanker is better at this roll than any brute.

I am a casual PvPer so I cant really do a build for you, but I can tell you that max HP and taunt is important. You are basically a disruptor. Web nades sure do that as well if you want. But taunt is huge. It bugs the crap out of the other side.
Good luck and have fun. And keep a thick skin. You will need it as you have already seen. PvP brings out the dick in most people as you can already tell.
Well, first, welcome to PvP and have fun.
Second, don't mind the short and sometimes terse responses, it's not that people don't want you to succeed with a certain AT/Powerset, it's just that since i13 PvP has been kinda borked so that there are very few "successful" choices these days.
Now, in most zone and team arena matches, your Brute is not going to seem very brutish. Your main role will not usually be smacking people around but it will instead be more of a disruption/controller type of role. That is why taunt and some form of -speed/-fly/-jump/immobilize power will be your main functions.
Things you will want to do: Slot set bonuses and get your accolades for the most HP you can eke out without gimping yourself otherwise. +recharge is helpful for your self heal and to speed up your taunt and immobilize. You will ideally want to get KB protection slotted up to around 41 points to prevent folks with dedicated KB attacks from keeping you on your keister. Even though everything gets hit with Diminishing Returns, you still want to keep your resists up.
For power pools you will want Speed and will live with SS on in most cases, as well as leaping for when you need vertical movement and for the KB bonus of acrobatics(Though you will obviously not want to be jumping around as much as an /Elec.). You will probably want the fitness pool if for nothing else but a place to slot some regen bonus IOs. After that a pool that gives some form of perception(Leadership) or a PPP that gives focused accuracy. Though also be sure that your APP/PPP also gives you one of the Immobs (Mace Mastery gives both Web Envelope and Focused accuracy).
Pick up a good attack chain of powers(remember to take taunt!) but be aware that AoE attacks are generally less effective in PvP than in PvE. Also, realize that PvP taunt DOES need accuracy.
Now, for 1 on 1 arena "Fiteklub" toe to toe style fighting, you can get away with being a lot more of a typical brute playstyle and you can make better use of the endurance sapping abilities of your powersets. But you will probably still want taunt(it cuts down range by 75%) and the immobilize attack.
I'm no expert by far, but that has been my experience with brutes/tanks in PvP. I am sure I forgot something, but that is the basic gist.
Good luck, have fun.

Hello PvP Veterans :P
I am 110% New to PvP so you will have to excuse my ignorance on the subject. I play on Virtue, The one that's you know, the 'unofficial' RP Server. Well I love RP and my Main toon who is an Elec/Elec is about to hit 50, and text fighting will only get you so far. So I was wondering if anyone out there would help me find a build that is at least survivable is PvP? All feedback is welcome |
Tough for arena is fine but I'd go phase for zone.
literally all tanks are good for in zone/arena play is webnadez and taunt. its not hard to make a build knowing that and to build for hp/rech

taunt, super speed, super jump, stamina, tough. (do not take fly)build for recharge and hp, make sure you pick up FA (for perception) and web nades. Just pick a blaster follow him and spam web nade and taunt. they will rage quit if u do it right.

I got stubborn around i12 with my main elec/elec and built em for end drain (went elec/elec/elec). Worked ok could drain most things quick but no single target damage output at all. I couldnt kill anything. Two early single target attacks plus jacobs ladder, thunderstrike thats about it from primary.
Im not even sure you should bother with build up. I suspect its still the same, so other than thunder strike I wouldnt bother slotting for damage (unless the set bonuses make sense).
You should be able to push HPs to around 2250 (on a brute, btw never saw if you have a brute or tanker). Energize, power sink and attacks that return end, or dont cost any (taunt). you dont need stamina on an elec/elec brute/tanker. Provided youve got the money.
I also suggest taunt, webnade and phase. You need KB IOs, SS and SJ.
Spam taunt and webnade, drain anyone that gets close enough for melee attacks. You need to fit some accuracy in your build as well. Make sure you pick up focused acc, and build for global bonuses.
Unfortunately for you elec/elec... well if you ever truly get bit by the pvp bug... Youll eventually wanna reroll.
