Do you mean for yourself or others. If it for yourself, then traps is a batter choice. You get a better selection of debuffs with traps.

That is one of the problems with sonic, it is so focused on a couple of things. It does res and status protection well, with -res being OK. As pointed out earlier sonic doesn't stand on it's own as well as other sets. Well when you add two sets that are strong on their own, they don't usually get any weaker. They get even stronger just like sonic gets stronger.

Now you did mention the waste of time buffs combined with kin, and that is only one small part the + damage. The recharge is great until you reach the cap, as is the heals combining since kin requires a tohit check. Speaking of tohit check time adds both +tohit and -defense, making it much easier for kin powers to hit. Then it has -tohit, def, regen, slows, and controls, which add more survivability then sonic from my experience. Time also may not add much -regen, but it does have some. I see similar things with everything all the little things add up to beat specialist sets.

Now I am not saying sonic is bad to team with, I just got in this conversation because someone said if sonic was buffed it would be too strong combined with another support set. Which I disagree with, I see sonic, FF, and TA all being able to get buffs without being to strong when teamed with other support sets.

As for Thermal, it is not that good of a shielding set, so lets not oversell it. Thermal is more superior debuffing than Sonic Resonance, and the non root heal is money.
Now lets add time to rad or kin, would it be any more over the top. Whenever you add multiple force magnifiers you get way over the top. So when you want to balance like you say you also need to compare it to other combinations, and even with the suggestions I don't see sonic blowing rad or kin out of the water.

I must ask do you even play thermal? You do know it only has 2 debuffs with long recharges. Thermal is far from superior debuffing compared to sonic, it is a better balanced set. Now compare sonic to cold, then you will really see a superior debuffing set.

The idea is your character powers up runes and wards to reduce numbers of damage, not a %. For example, you can throw up a ward for 200 points of damage. It lasts for 5 seconds. A monster can hit you for up to 200 points of damage and you will take 0 damage and have some left over. However, the set is very end heavy and recharge heavy and only blocks agaisnt specific damage, so you have to know what type of damage you are taking, keep popping blues, etc. And it works out the same over all in the % it blocks and doesn't block psionic, but I think it would be fun to have and play with.

I don't see this working well. Being so click heavy people won't have a chance to attack. Maybe if you had a basic armor set with one power working like swap ammo. It gives you 3 boosts to strengthen either smash/lethal, ice/fire/, or eng/n eng to way you suggest.

As far as the OP, yeah way to early for Christmas, they should be more focused on Halloween sales, and put Christmas up the first of November. If they are out of Halloween items this early they are losing sales.

I had a similar thought. Except it had protection primary and a pet/assault/debuff secondary.

This is already in game for one set, quills will keep your spines out when you activate your secondary. They don't really change anything. The only way that would help is outside of battle to redraw, which anyone can do as they run into the mob by hitting any attack. In battle you will have to pause to redraw even when the toggle is on. You don't notice it as much but it is still there.

No it is not. On beta they rate both scrappers and stalkers the same for damage and survivability. Since the lack of aoe compared to scrappers usually means stalkers do less damage, and lower HP and HP cap means survivability is much lower. So they could match the scrapper HP and cap without breaking the balance. I also think the could give AS a one second uninterruptable cast for PvE without breaking the balance as well.

That would be pretty weak IMO. Without any shields/mez protection you would die just as quick as a defender would, while having to be in melee. Then scrapper crits would also be better since being attacked is the easiest way to build fury, while crits are always at full strength and go over the damage cap.

Plus lightning rod has the pet damage cap.

On the OP I wouldn't mind it,but doubt it would happen
  11. Yeah Ice does less damage then grav, but it does control much better, and we are talking about controllers. Both sets have the standard immobs and holds. Instead of a sleep it gets a stun that scatters so both powers are not as good as could be. Ice then gets 3 more controls, a range slow-recharge cone, for those that do not like melee, ice slick and AA, which make a great combo. It is amazing how well aoe running fear, aoe confusion and knock down stack.

I do agree grav is better at damage, having two attacks would do it, and sing is sturdier then jack, but jack does more damage, and I have no problem keeping jack alive with just my controls and my weak little rad heal. He also doesn't scatter like sing can. you may noticed I mentioned scatter a couple of times, while that is because scatter while it is a control it is also -damage. If wormhole pulled everything into a little group it would be one of the best controls around.
  12. Wow no one has mentioned On the Road Again by Willie.

I also like Idiot Road by the Arrogant Worms.

So do you have a guilty conscience? You are trying really hard to justify pirating. There is a difference between remembering and watching.

Actually you said in the OP, and I assumed you meant getting it from them. Though the netflix licenses wouldn't allow for downloading so it would not apply to any downloaded movies you have.

Now if you are are getting it from another source then your contract with them does not apply. You have a pirated copy no ifs ands or buts about it. Your license would be to get it through them not another source. I have several DVDs it doesn't mean that netflix has to stream them to me for free, they are two different licenses.

It would be like getting food poisoning from a drive thru, and suing my car maker because it was the car that took me through the drive trough. They have nothing to do with one another

I don't see Time Manipulation, at this first glance, performing with Masterminds.
So aoe -tohit and aoe +def wouldn't stack with the heal? Yeah + recharge is a waste, but looking at the icons the set has more then +recharge.

Since a contract is usually considered a legal document enforceable in court, I would say breaking a contract is illegal. Which is different then criminal. Also by breaking a contract you are breaking your word, and considered unethical. Basically lying for personal gain. Neither may be large things, but it doesn't change it from being both illegal or immoral.

As pointed out though modern law, if I understand correctly, has it that you don't OWN a copy of the data, you own a LICENSE. Now if this is true then any license within the library of a digital distribution system that you have an account and access to you should then have a license for all that material. It doesn't matter whether it is a copy or anything like that.
That doesn't apply to your netflix account. You are altering the use. They make available a live stream, you then use a third party software to copy. I also would like to know how you delete your copy when they no longer have a license to stream, which can change at any moment.

  20. It is illegal and immoral. When you sign up for Netflix you agree not to copy movies and shows. It is one thing to use a live feed to watch a movie, where it is limited and removed after use. It is another to make a copy to keep even after netflix lost the rights to distribute.

If you want to buy Paragon Points, instead of buying a snack after work, put that money aside into a little Paragon Points piggy bank. When what you want shows up in the Paragon Market, take your piggy bank to the bank, deposit it, then scramble home and buy your points.

-Possibly have our PRIMARIES -res powers buffed. after all, we are the debuff AT, why should one of our most important debuffs be equal to other support AT's? (even if it was only +5%, most being +10%)

The first 2 suggestions would indirectly increase damage output, and the buff to -res would directly increase damage. The buff to controls just makes sense :P
I see the first point, it makes sense that if your team is dying it makes more sense to shrug of mezzes to protect them. The second I don't see a need for a solo discount, if defenders get them then everyone should since everyone needs end.

The increase to -res doesn't make sense, most -res primary powers already do more -res then their counterparts. There are just a few pets that are outliers and should have a different version for defenders. For example Sleet uses the same pet for defenders and corruptors, but freezing rain uses different pets with the defender version having stronger debuffs.

I also do don't see the need for controller mods for controls. You say defenders have very few controls, but if that was true the change would have no effect. The truth is there are several controllerish sets available to defenders with dark leading the pack. I can see making sure all primaries have higher base numbers before AT mods come to play, but I do not see a need to increase the mod. It would be like saying corruptors should be better at debuffs then defenders since they are an AT based around corrupting others.

Agreed I have a 50 em/nin, and I prefer em on my brute. It is not that the stalker is bad, it easily takes out hard single targets quick, it just spends most of the time completing animations, and that em is extra nerfed on stalkers. The 2 big guns get full use out of fury, but total focus gets the same crit as energy punch. The damage from ET is not that bad, especially when every secondary except one has a heal.

So what the heck were the devs thinking letting stalkers have spines. They're just walking vengeance/fallout bait, since they die as soon as they attack and their only means of survival is negated by spines special.
