  1. I'm pretty sure I've had them too, but I could be mistaken. However, just because you aren't in a mission map, doesn't mean you are free to fill. You could be getting a new mission, or doing a 'kill x gang members' mission.

Not True, I said people who don't want to be contacted should play a console instead.

So by dint of being online people grant you the right to contact them for anything you see fit?

    NCSoft Q3 Report

Dave, read GR's quote in my post 2 above from another thread (complex I know, but it was in reference to the monthly access figure) It explains it is the number of accouts that logged in during the month, including trials, but not including accounts that didn't log in.
  4. I've had a quick search and can't see anything of this sort. When I'm in a team and waiting for someone I tend to kill time by checking out other members bios. Just thought it would be cool to see what people write. I'll start with my first toon.

    Dave N Smith:

After being bought up by Puritan parents it wasn't until he attended Lincoln University in New Zealand that Dave discovered that his body metabolised alcohol in a different manner to ordinary people. After consuming large amounts of alcoholic beverages Daves senses became sharper, his dexterity improved and his strength was magnified. An early bar room brawl and a brush with the law lead to Dave travelling to Asia to train with the masters of martial arts and hone his alcohol fueled abilities.

Never found far from a bar, Dave tends to stick to beer as liquor gives him a hangover after a fight and wine makes him fight like a girl.
  5. I can see the benifit of the pact for friends and family, but wouldn't join with a random stranger. If I found I teamed a lot with someone then I might be tempted to suggest it.

It would be useful to know if your pact partner is online at the toon select screen though.
  6. No worries mate, know what you mean.

The numbers mean little to me as I've just got my 3 month badge today so have no history to relate to.

I haven't had many nights where I haven't found teams, although the last week or so has been quiet due to large numbers being on the test server I assume.
  7. Apologies, but when you posted the link (Which was the one I expected) I assumed you believe that they were as lionsbane said (see my original query). Hence my reply under yours. That was more intended as a reply to lionsbane more than you.

You're second comment asked what I was telling you. Not why. Sorry for any confusion.
  8. Yeah, they moved. But I think Standoff was suggesting you create an account and change it. However there are login problems at the moment.
  9. I've just quoted that into the original thread as we were discussing it there. Thanks for the clarification.

    [ QUOTE ]

    For clarity:

Monthly Access refers to the number of unique accounts that logged in during a monthly period. It does not include subscribers who did not login during that month, and does include any trial accounts that logged in.

Concurrency refers to the number of unique accounts logged in simultaneously, at a global scale. Highest (or peak) concurrency is the maximum such figure achieved during a given period.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just copying across GR's post in the positron interview thread for clarity.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Hey what the heck are you telling me? I just pointed you where the numbers were.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup and I had already read that thread.

Highest concurrent users (13000) says to me number of people online at one time, not average users.

Monthly access (124000) says to me the total number of logins each month. So there were 124000 people playing the game that month, not 13000 as the original poster said.

Now, obviously GR's below confirms the 1st figure, but says the 2nd figure is total number of accounts accessing the servers, not logins.

There are probably more subscribers than that, plus as GR points out, that 13000 was at one point, not in a single day, so doesn't include peak EU time.
  12. Really? Cos nowhere does it say those numbers are subscribers or users. In fact, the general consensus in there seems to be that it's the highest usage on a single day (13000) and the total number of logins to the servers in the month.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
And, to compound this, there ar 124,000 subscribers here and only 13,000 actually playing on average across 15 servers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting these numbers from?
  14. Yes, in the options there is an option to reset the UI. It's in the first tab of the options panel I believe. Found it last night by mistake.
  15. If you could change your status once you joined a team you could say if you were on a TF or looking for members.

Well if the 1st column is accounts and the 2nd is the times those accounts accessed the game, they are both at an all time low i think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looks to me like the first column is the highest number of users online at one time for that month, and the second is the total number of times users logged on that month. However, they are both at their lowest (barring the dec 2004 figure).

Oh well thats a blow to the "more people than ever playing / numbers aint down" brigade.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a blow to those who insist on screeching the game is dying as well, tbh. 125k monthly users is a considerable number.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, wrong, subscribers do not equal players, and non playing subscribers eventually stop being subscribers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It does say Access, so surely that would mean people who logged onto the game, as opposed to just being number of accounts?

Please return to discussing the topic of the XP / no-XP toggle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

GR, as you're reading, do you know, or can you ask, if the devs are planning for there to be a way to disable Patrol XP without disabling normal XP earning as well?

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people who still want to earn XP, but don't want to earn DOUBLE XP, and at the moment it appears to not be possible to do that unless you play every character all day every day (which isn't actually possible!).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does the bar full up for every minute you are offline? Or is it only every 24 hours? Cos you could just log in with every toon every day. (A real pain I know, just curious)
  19. Thanks guys, sounds like a waste of time TBH.

"No blinds, fills, farms or PLs. Send a tell, and give details please!"

Just out of curiosity, I know what a blind is, have figured out farming and PLing, but what is filling?

Darn it i want us to have better use of ingame ads!

They should set up a system where you can advertise your SG on there. Submit an image to them which will be added into the game.

Though I have had a tactical tell in PvP before. A tell saying, "Behind you" came up, I stopped to reply "huh?" at which point the stalker that sent it AS'd me...can't believe I fell for it and personally found it quite clever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Now THAT'S funny!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Very!
  23. [ QUOTE ]
It is always the one sending invites in the wrong??? Why is that?

How about people that think they have a blind scroll up and check their chat log before clicking no just too make sure?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's still a blind. You are inviting without knowing if they do want to join. I agree people should answer a tell, but have been known to miss one. Try a second tell, and if no reply, take the hint.

    [ QUOTE ]
But if you are busy surly it is polite to respond with the 6 key press answer and have actually answered????

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are no circumstances under which I am willing to talk like some sort of semiliterate.

The whole "it's polite to send a tell, therefore it's polite to reply" argument is bogus anyway. It's polite to ring the doorbell when you arrive at someone's house, rather than barging in - that does not mean it is rude not to answer the doorbell even if you are busy somehow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure it is. It's rude to leave someone at the door, and I'm willing to bet that most of the time you would finish what you are doing as quick as possible and answer that door.

However, I also believe that if you don't get a tell in reply, a blind is still rude. Using the same analogy, you wouldn't barge into someones house if they didn't reply to the doorbell.
