Yes, in the options there is an option to reset the UI. It's in the first tab of the options panel I believe. Found it last night by mistake. 
Or create a wholly new character, go into AP type /chat_save logout again and log into the character who is borked and type /chat_load. Best thing about this method is that it only resets the chat settings and not anything else.
i want it alllll reseting back to normal i tryed that options thing and it didnt work, is there a way i can reset it or should i send a petition off to have it looked at in game?

If not try that first, I know it works for me, and as I was told to do it this way to reset chat in the past (mine died shortly after i12) it should work.
- Go into the City of Heroes root, thats where the CohUpdater.EU.exe file is found.
- Check that there isn't a file called chat.txt, if there is delete it.
- Start the game and create a new character.
- Once the game is fully loaded type /chat_save in the box you type chat into and press enter.
- Return to the main login screen.
- Log in to the character that has broken chat tabs.
- Now once again in the chat entry box type /chat_load and press enter.
- While it should work immediately it might be a good idea to log out and back in with that character just to make sure the changes stick.
- You can now delete the temporary character you made.

hey ive been playing the game for a good 2 years now lol but on my main one day about a year ago i messed around with tabs and chat boxes and now there all screwed up is there away of reseting it all. at the moment while chat it up i cant see wot xp and inf im getting and deatails like that any help would be awsome thanks!
