    E.g.a.d.!!!

    Elite Galactical Alien Defenders

Galactical is a word. We just invented it. English is overrated, we're aliens, after all!

An elite league of Super-Kheldians where other alien's may call their home, their team, and their brothers and sisters under a united galactic symbol of hope for a better future. A future that will be forged by our very own hands, lobster claws and tentacles for the betterment of alien-kind!

Greetings and welcome from Paragon City, fellow Kheldians. I know not of your current locations, but I know you are out there, defending Paragon City from evil and, more importantly, the Nictus! We Kheldians stand strong against the threat of many, but do we stand united? Even if you aren't now, we can and we are, right now, as members of E.G.A.D.

Within E.G.A.D. of server Freedom, Kheldians need not look further for their fellow brothers and sisters. We all stand united and strong, fighting crime as one powerful alien battalion! My question to you is this, my fellow aliens; will you hear the call and join us in arms, in tentacles, and in lobster claws?

If so, you can look forward to these events within E.G.A.D.:
    • Weekly TF's
    • Group Incarnate Trials
    • Mission Runs
    • PvP (depending on if we have enough)

The best part from the list mentioned above is that this will all be done with Kheldian only teams! We want to promote teams and leagues made up of only Kheldians as much as possible, whenever possible. We especially want to see these kinds of groups being formed between SG members as well.

We also want to promote a friendly-gaming environment. The SG is meant to be a fun and welcoming place for Kheldians to interact. We wish never to expel or ban fellow Kheldians from the SG, but if an alien fails to abide by the rules shown below this paragraph, he or she will receive a warning the first time, then a deranking the second time, and finally a ban from the SG. If the situation is dire enough, we will not hesitate to banning first.

1.) Respect your fellow Kheldian brothers and sisters.

2.) Respect your fellow gamers, since you are a reflection of E.G.A.D. We want to show our non-alien allies we are what we say we are; Elite Galactical Alien Defenders.

3.) Do not take from the SG Vault/Bank without permission. Stealing in third-world countries may mean your punishment is hand removal. In our case; tentacle removal. (And a warning/deranking and, if continued, a boot from the SG.)

4.) Do not alter the SG base without permission.

5.) Have fun. Otherwise, why are you playing?

Do you have a Kheldian toon who is looking for an SG to call home? Come and join E.G.A.D.!

Contact Templar of Truth/Judgement@Templars in-game or Kheldian Aftermath@The-Ken for more information!

Are you a member and want to support your SG in a colorful and thematic way? Awesome! Check out page 2 (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=285835&page=2) for the official SG colors and costume theme!

Not precisely what I wanted to hear ^_^" but an honest answer nevertheless. Well poop. I feel like my PB is my ST DPS king and my Warshade is the mob cruncher. I wish there was a way to meld the two because I hate feeling like I'm doing too low damage on AV's/GM for my League/Team.
  4. ... but I don't even know where to begin when attempting to ST DPS a GM or a AV on my Warshade. I don't know how to play simply because I'm so used to the thought process "find bodies, find bodies, find bodies" and some of these big boss battles don't even have adds. I get so lost since I'm only fighting one big mob and I can't figure out what to do, so most of the time I simply do my measely siphons (mire and eclipse) with one stack granted from that one mob (which is hardly a buff), go nova and blast it repeatably until my mind is numb from boredom.

Is there something I'm missing? I'd love to know that I'm doing something wrong against these AVs/GMs because I feel like my damage output is pitiful when I'm in these situations.

I personally can't see any reason why they wouldn't want toggles to suppress while in forms, combined with faster animations it would make them much less clunky to use, especially for a Warshade it seems like a logical choice to make considering that there are two offensive toggles in Umbral Aura.
Here's a good question: Did the Devs ever -intend- for the Warshade to be played like they are now? (Triform, at least.) Did they expect players to make macros that would cause them to switch between forms quickly within battles and to allow for a very fast paced game-play style? Or did they expect the Kheldian AT to play more like Jack of all Trades, switching forms to fulfill desired roles in groups?

If the second scenario is true, then that means the Devs wouldn't want to give out anything that increases the strength of the Triformers simply because they didn't design them to be that way. They expect the Triformers to stay in one form for long periods of time so that they can follow a specific role. This would mean they see Peacebringer Triformers like this; Dwarf would be a psuedo-tank for teams that needed a tank or an extra one, Nova would be a team's blaster when they didn't have one, and human form would be a Scrapper with Defender abilities. This also means the Warshades would be seen the same, except as Blasters/Controllers in human form, not Scrappers/Defenders.

Of course, this perspective on the AT limits us extremely, locking ourselves into a "designated role" in a shapeshift form and basically hurting our full potential just by thinking this way. Good Triformers understand the concept that you are all three forms at once and you switch in and out like a machine running through a bunch of objectives in its system. But most of the Kheldians here understand this, so I'm probably boring most of you right now

If the FIRST scenario is true, then toggle suppression and quicker shapeshifting would seem like -one- of the best ways to go for promoting the use of forms in the thought process I described in the paragraph above this one.

Can you imagine? Toggle suppression and faster shapeshifting... *Grins gleefully and daydreams a little.*
  6. I'm with AIB; PvP in this game has never been my strong point. I've never enjoyed it too much on any of my characters besides my Scrapper. Even then, I hate travel powers. It's always hit and run mechanics and ambushes, never a real toe-to-toe battle.

In a game who's name won't be said (but it has orcs and humans), I found it to be far more entertaining simply because pvp was pretty balanced. In CoH, while I'm sure it can be done, I can't play my favorite class in PvP (my 'shade) just because he literally loses more than half of his powers due to them requiring mobs or dead mobs. There are ways around this, I'm sure, but unfortunately 'shade pvp is my least favorite. Besides, epic PvP builds take billions upon billions of influence to make. It's more about the enhancements, less about skill. I would love PvP more in this game if the devs made it to where enhancement's effects were canceled out in pvp and certain powers change (more drastically than the small amount of change they are effected by in a PvP zone).

But that's far too much work for the Devs. I feel that if anyone wants to pvp in this game, roll a VEAT or a Brute/Tanker/Scrapper.

You're assuming I'm saying "you guys suck." This is more towards those who say "lolblasters".
  10. So many people are telling me Blasters are awful. I think that people are wrongly accusing the AT of being bad when they themselves just aren't making wise decisions. You aren't a scrapper. You can't take on team sizes of 8 without breaking a sweat. Instead of attempting bigger sizes, I find that simply increasing the level of a team size of 2 yields a better benefit for my Beam Rifle/MM Blaster.

Without a doubt this character is easily the most powerful toon I have yet to play. Sure, he has little resistances/defenses to back himself up, but my defense is my offense.

"If it's dead, it ain't gonna kill me."

I've always saw Blasters as more of a team player anyways. Sure, one could argue they bring nothing to the team... But I can guarantee you a team with a (potent) Blaster will kill twice as fast as a team without one.

TL;DR - Stop hating on the Blasters. They aren't that horrible.
  11. While these are all viable complaints and suggestions, I honestly have no problems with the Stalker at the time being. I'm just happy they finally made my Stalker the ST beast he -should have been since CoV launched-.

Besides, it'll take the devs another 8 or 9 issues to even re-look at us again anyways

First, thank you for the compliment

You're destroying EBs/AVs... on your Warshade? Interesting. I have the worst time against those types. It's the smaller mobs I completely demolish. If you're having issues with the smaller mobs, do as Stone has suggested and keep them controlled. "Gravimetric Emanation is a ambulance" Dechs says. (And I concur!)
  15. Im not sure entirely what you're doing wrong... Your attack chain and tactics seem pretty up to par. So, instead of trying to figure out exactly what you're doing wrong (because I probably won't figure it out lol), I recommend taking a look at my Warshade video in my signature (click "Gaze into the Abyss"). It shows my WS taking on groups of +4x8 with bosses. Mind you, I have clarion (which could be easily substituted for break frees, but anyways...) and I use other incarnate powers, but other than that my tactics used in the video may help you.

Remember; the best idea is to keep the minions alive so they can fuel you while you annihilate the bosses/Lts. Fuel = power and survival. Whenever you notice your losing enough health to cause concern, gravity well a minion and then slurp up his delicious soul for endurance/healing. Stygian Circle is quite amazing. And fluffies! Don't forget your fluffies! Masterminds got nothin' on them! (OK... perhaps an exaggeration, but a good one at that :P )

    neat

    Ok, so I'm confused.

In my Electric/Electric stalker, I put the ATO in my Jacob's Ladder and then put Hecatomb in my AS. With that, I get the proc about every 15 sec like the set says it would do. But from what I'm reading in this thread, it seems that the ATO procs immediately after using AS?

If this is so, then my question is this; where is the best place to put the ATO for maximum dps? (I mean, we -are- a dps AT afterall)
  18. I'd like to say Electricity Armor is my favorite, but there are also other competitors as well. I -HEAR- ice is good. (Just look at this thread if you don't believe me.) I also like Dark Armor, due to it's ability to basically "reset the battle" with its heal, Dark Regeneration.

The key to any good survivable build is to have a good mix of both Defense and Resistance. You want to aim for 45% defense (I believe this is the softcap) and then you also want the resistance to back yourself up when you do finally get hit.

    The reason I like Electricity Armor so much is because of these things here;

    - Massive Endurance Drain Resistance: Sappers? No problem. Nothing is going to drain your endurance!

    - A fantastic "consume"-like power. Comes back quick enough for me to keep all my 9 toggles on and keep my endurance bar above half. It normally never leaves 75%.

-Fantastic Resistances: Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is above 30% resistance. (Except for toxic. Damn you, toxic.) Obviously energy damage won't phase you, smashing/lethal is 50% with enhanced tough, and my others are a decent 30%-45%. Slap on as much defense as you can through IO's and you've got around 37% defense without incarnates.

The ONLY thing I dislike about my Electricity build is the fact my heal is a little on the slow side when it comes to recharge. It's good, so don't get me wrong. 50% health back and then a massive endurance cost reduction bonus for 10-15 seconds afterwards is beautiful, but sometimes you need more than that within a 30 second time period. That is why I took Rebirth +Regen. My resistances are already good. My defenses are close to cap. I just need heals to keep myself up. Regen is a great bonus to add on top of it.

Built right, Dark Armor with some good defense and tactical endurance management can be pretty scary as well. Overall, both perform really well.

Again, also try Ice. I hear it's also a good one. Mid's Hero Designer is always the best way to go when you're aiming for min/maxing.

My best example of the differences...

If you have ever played a feral druid in pvp in WoW, it feels a LOT like that as a triform. Switching constantly to utilize your powers completely.

Human form feels really unique. I can't really figure out how to describe it.

Funny you mention. I spent more time thinking about what to do for that section of the song than actually making the video. I'm glad you liked what I came up with though.
  22. Templar of "Truth" is my peacebringer, and I decided to make a video featuring him after making one for my Warshade. Please, check it out and let me know what you think. Kheldians are some of the least played AT's, but they are easily one of the most powerful if built right.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vlYm...eature=mh_lolz

    Enjoy!
  23. Alright, so "true power" might be a tad bit of an exaggeration, but it sounded good .

Hello, forum dwellers! Diggaroo here with another Kheldian video. This time I'm featuring my Peacebringer, Templar of Truth. Triform is a lot more fun than I thought it'd be. It adds a lot of playstyle depth to the AT and I think I've never had so much fun with him before.

I don't show fights as a whole simply due to the longevity of them. Besides, this video is far more cinematic than my WS's. (Which, if you're interested, click my signature "Gaze into the Abyss..." to see his video.)

Enjoy the video and let me know what you think !

The video is located here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vlYm...ature=youtu.be
  24. Alright. So. I've done some testing with a "mock" build of the one I gave originally. I didn't want to spend the influence on the purple's unless I knew for sure the build would work. So, here Are my results:

I found that, while I'm pretty great at surviving anything that isn't psionic damage, my damage output is decent and my forms are pretty darn strong. I'm also finding some interesting differences between how I play my Warshade and my Peacebringer.

I find that with my PB, I use my nova form far more and dwarf form far less than I do with my WS. I believe this has to do with the fact White Dwarf is far more defensive than a Black Dwarf and, because of this, I use Bright Nova to make up for the lack of offense in White Dwarf. Don't get me wrong, W Dwarf can pack a punch, but it is an endurance drainer, especially if you're using the Flare often. Nova can sit back and nuke the **** out of mobs from afar without expending much of my well-needed endurance.

Why am I emphasizing endurance is so important? Well, in my build I don't use any shields. I figured I'll be switching forms far too often to want to even think about toggles. So, to make up for no shields, my build relies heavily upon refreshing Light Form. This has its ups and downs.

Ups: I can bring Light Form with me as I switch forms, keeping awesome damage resistance as I nuke mobs in Nova. Also, the -Knockback is freaking epic. +1000? That's insane. It's like being in Dwarf form ALL THE TIME.

Downs: That damned crash. It can be a bit of a doozy, especially when you're still surrounded by 5+ mobs of Lts. and Bosses. I can't emphasize how much I hate this crash, but it's one of those necessary evils. I really feel like, though, that while the health drop is justified, the endurance drop is just cruel. I can heal using one of my three epic self-heals after a crash. Conserve Energy isn't ALWAYS up. That also goes for Light Form as well; sometimes it doesn't recharge fast enough when the mobs have recharge time slows. I believe, though, that once I put the purples in my build, I'll be able to fix my recharge time problems. I could also go for Tier 4 Spiritual, for I currently have Tier 3 (33% recharge, heal, and stun.)

Another issue I'm having is the fact that I'm so damn used to my WS. I can't hop into a mob of +4x8 like he does. Of course, I'm not saying it's the AT's fault. It may be on a small level, but it's also probably the fact I need to work harder on my build. My PB isn't as efficient as destroying large groups of mobs as my WS. But he really shines (pun intended) when there are a few bosses/lts. left. I then just go human form and give them the one-two with Radiant Strike, Incandescent Strike, and Gleaming Blast.

Honestly, the only time I ever go Dwarf is when there are a lot of mobs around me for me to use Flare or if I need to use the heal. I'm half tempted to just stop slotting any of the dwarf powers besides the heal and just using Dwarf as a breakfree and as a heal when needed.

Another thing I think may help my position is Barrier. Clarion is well and all, but Light Form provides an already decent mez protection. Barrier would add to my survivability by a LOT. But, if I do this, that probably means I'll have to use Dwarf more against mez-heavy mobs. (Or just switch back to Clarion). Then my paragraph before this one is obsolete; I'd need to keep slots in Dwarf to keep it strong for the times that I can't go human/nova due to mezzers.

I believe this is most of my results so far. I'm enjoying the different playstyle and I'm still trying to get used to it.

Oh, and btw, thanks AIB for some purple fluffy doom fun yesterday. Nice getting to meet you in-game
