Also, a high-larious reaction to Episode 9. NSFW for strong language.

Quote:It would have been far more shocking had they not hired an actor who plays death-prone characters.I have read the books, I thought it was hilarious when I saw the trailer, saw he was playing Ned and saw what a big deal they made of his character. Nice move HBO...hire a well-known actor to play the "protagonist" of the show and promote it, knowing you won't have to pay a well-known actor's salary beyond the first season.

Before I finished the first book, when I heard that Sean Bean would play Eddard, I knew he was gonna die. Next episode is the season finale. If **** just got real, it will become far realer next week.

Also, InterfaceLIFT and APOD. Both have huge archives, though the latter takes a bit of digging to get the good stuff, as well as cropping to get the right aspect ratio. -
Al Gore - Fire/Storm Controller
Marie Curie - Rad/Rad Defender (duh)
Pablo Escobar - Dual Pistols/Poison Corrupter -
Eh, I've seen uglier trucks.

Quote:That would be Matsumoto's. Can't say I've ever had the pleasure, as the lines are always ridiculously long. Best shave ice I've had I actually got for free from Big Wave Shrimp when I told them it was my birthday.samoan here but my sisters live in Laie. i forget the name but theres a place that has the BEST shaved ice i have ever tried. something-moto...lol. shaved ice and road side pineapple baggies... so good!
But if you're on Oahu and ever find yourself in Haleiwa, you HAVE to go to the Grass Skirt Grill. The food is amazing. -
Quote:This pretty much lines up with my thoughts on the matter. I'm all for expanding costume options, but if it takes longer and produces pieces that very few people will actually use then I don't see the point. What was communicated to me is that many of the pieces that are gender specific are usually done in that manner so as to allow for greater variety in character design options, in addition to accounting for production time, value and scope. (plainly said, more costume pieces mean more time in development which means less packs less frequently. Even if it's the same costume piece, it's and entirely "new" piece if we port it to different body types i.e.; male, female, huge).

I'm not surprised there hasn't been a thread for this yet. As someone who enjoyed all three of the previous Pirates movies (yes, all three), On Stranger Tides is a disappointment
The plot is disjointed, the action scenes are devoid of any urgency or genuine thrill, Blackbeard fails to be anywhere near as menacing or villainous as Jones and Barbossa were, new, boring characters are introduced and old, entertaining ones were abandoned (no Pintel and Ragetti). All in all, it feels like a movie that suffered from a rewrite of the script midway through production and the result is painful. -

For some reason I was thinking 'Ruladak the Hipster'.
"Oh, my backstory is really obscure, you probably haven't heard of it." -
They cast the bad guy from Last Action Hero as Tywin Lannister. Brilliant.
I like that they're playing up Theon Greyjoy's dissatisfaction with being effectively a hostage of the Starks. I wonder how this will come into play in the future... (and yes, I know exactly how it comes into play in the future) -
My experience with randoms was pretty bad so I went for the sure thing. Even if it is less on average, I prefer it to going through multiple bad rolls before striking gold.

I don't think there's anything that can be done server-side to improve client framerate. That's determined by your hardware more than anything else.

In about 7 years of playing I have seen only one player use Group Fly and that was the Kheldian version. I can't say I have seen it since. Is Group Fly all that common, or have I just been lucky enough to avoid it?

Quote:The Ascendant armor is for level 50 characters only, unlocked with Astral/Empyrean merits but available account-wide once purchased. What you're referring to are the vouchers you can purchase that can be emailed to allow a level one character to access capes or auras. My understanding is they're just unlockable by 50s and they're mailed to your global so you can use them on whomever has auras unlocked (which you can unlock for someone under 30 by similarly purchasing that with merits I understand).
Something along those lines anyway. -

If all the characters in a League have successfully completed an Incarnate Trial, the introductory cut scene for the Trial is automatically skipped so you can dive straight into the game action. -

Quote:ar·bi·trar·y/ˈärbiˌtrerē/AdjectiveAha, I found the the perfect quote that sums up everything I feel is wrong with the game at present. OK, then. Thanks to Matt Miller's explanation, I now know not to waste my effort on those pieces. I guess when they gave out the Vanguard pieces at character creation, they had to have SOMETHING which was locked behind arbitrary gates, but knowing that makes it easy to ignore.
1. Based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.
The choice to make an 'Incarnates only' costume set available for Incarnates only is hardly 'arbitrary'. Positron gave very good reasons as to why the set has limited availability, none of which are based on random chance or personal whim. -

I have most base settings set to maximum except for World Detail (at 100% rather than 200%). As for Ultra Mode, I have water and environmental reflections at highest quality and shadow quality set to medium. Ambient occlusion is off.
