    Not a Brute, I guess.






    I assume it's pretty standard. Cram a travel power and Stamina >20, tier 3 attack, taunt, the status effect res, get the damage aura way late...?



    Specifically, I'm wondering about how to build an Elec/WM.

    Can anyone help me come up with a name for a classic Golden Age-esque Inv/Elec tanker in the vein of Captain Marvel?

    I'd really appreciate some help with this one. Been bothering me for a few weeks.

    Kinda looking around for a new home. Can anyone tell me a little bit about this server?


    The forum seems populated and friendly enough, but it always seems a ghost town when I pop in game.
  5. One of the things so interesting about this game to me is how miscellanous alot of the travel powers are presented as, when we can all name iconic and great characters from books with JUST those abilities to rely on... Nightcrawler, Angel, Flash, etc.


    I know it's been done before. Show me your MA/SR Scrap or WP/SS tanker, or any character and concept of your guy based entirely around super-speed. Don't be ashamed of your slotted SS and sprint, please.


    It interests the hell out of me.
  6. Okay, so with customizations and whatnot being awesome, I was messing around the test server and decided on the concept of wavy/concentric heat/plasma/energy stuffs ala Havok.

    I think the best fitting sets would be NRG/MM or Sonic/MM.

    I went back 29 pages and saw nary a mention of NRG/MM. I imagine it's because as a primary it's so average... but I'd really appreciate if someone took a sample crack at that build incorporating Super Speed.

    I'm coming up on my 4th month for CoH, and still can't make a build to save my life.



    Bonus cookies to someone to provide me with a sample Sonic/MM, too. Or any advice...

  8. I'm probably the only one to be entertained by it, but the concept of an old-fashioned "telekinesis" character through a Mind Control / Force Fields Controller.


    Or, the old stand-by: anything involving Storm.
  9. I've seen your "first 20 Invul levels" guide, and it's awesome. I definitely intend to follow it.



    However, now I'm considering waiting for Inv/Elec Melee.

    I plan to team and AE alot. I don't really like to solo in any MMO.

    Does /Fire have alot of AOE?



    When I played this game months ago I had a SS/WP Brute, so I want to try to stay away from a similar playstyle.

    Defenders and Blasters that think everyone is playing Scrappers.

  14. I remember people asking for Spines customizations, and were basically told that it's a power customization and not a weapon modification like you could easily flip with BS, Kat, etc.


    So now that we're getting power customization, any word on changing spines to maybe some other models?


    *Sharp* quills would be excellent... Or even a "blank" one.


    Speaking of which, I wish we had a "None" option for claws so we can just use our gloves/hands ala Black Panther, Sabretooth, etc.

    2.) They aren't paying customers if they.. (wait for it)... AREN'T PAYING.


    Instead of saying you BUY a car, isn't it more fair to say you're RENTING it?

    You pay a monthly fee to use the service. You don't own anything.



    To clarify: If NCsoft shut down tommorow, you have lost CoX. If Ford closes it's doors, you still own your Expedition.
  18. You may argue Top Cow's "The Darkness" is a Necromancy or Demon Summoning MM.


    And, for the most part, he does... good things.



    I think that's the idea. Outside of some exceptions, alot of characters with "Dark" powers are in the grey area of good.

    Ex - Spawn, Darkness, Ghost Rider, etc.
  19. I don't mind clicky sets too much, really. I feel kinda bored on melee in this game when I'm only clicking powers from my primary (or secondary, as tanker).

    That being said, I also heard SR is a late bloomer?


    Is Regen any good nowadays? I know Claws/DA is beastly at the moment, but I have alot of /DAs. D:

    Can someone weigh in on these? The allure of perma-dodging a group of mobs for the animation alone has me anxious to try it, but not if I have to wait till 35+ to have fun with it...
  20. The majority of my chars are Scrappers, with Controllers being my second favorite AT.

    I sometimes want to play a Blaster or Defender, but don't get past the pool selection screen.



    Do people think it's easy because it tends to be less "clicky"? I feel kinda bored by playing low-level Scrappers, too. You usually are trying to get a bunch of toggles or passives. It probably comes down to:

    Brawl -> T1 single-target punch -> small cone -> brawl -> T1 ...


    Meanwhile your ranged class at this level is probably mixing damage types, holds, etc.

    You're right. I'm mainly going for Tough, and now that I look at it, Boxing isn't even slotted.

    Might as well take Kick just for the flair.

    I'm trying to decide between the two for my DM/FA.

    The general consensus has always been Kick sucks, presumably because of the activation time.


    Is there any upside? DM is all punches, and I think it'd be cool to mix it up and boot someone in the gut.
