New to all of us who didn't like banana thorns, anyway.

I'm kicking around either Spines/Elec or Spines/FA. R gud?

I hear that!

I've tried the set a few times and liked the powers but the looks turned me off to the point of quiting the character. Now I can haz spines and still be a slave to fashion!

I wish we'd have options for pineapples, pears and other fruits.

I'm pretty sure spines/electric will be on par with /fire in terms of toughness but compared to /dark I'm not sure.

Spines has been the one powerset I wouldn't touch for the past 4 years.
Just something about it never really appealed to me.

Then I heard about the option to have metal and I got all excited about rolling my very 1st Spines scrapper.

I started trying to come up with concepts, then I saw the screenies of the available options, I noticed one called Slate that really made me think of Spyke from X-men: Evolution. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go with that now!

Yep, just started my first Spine Scrapper here in a number of years, as well. I'm going with the Metal spikes to go with the Cyborg outfit.

I'm another who could never get past the ugly spines/thorns look. I'm still not sure, mostly because I heartily dislike the impale and ripper animations. The powersets look intriguing mechanically, though. As soon as animation customization reaches those sets and I can get rid of the baseball pitch and circus flip, I'm there.

And here I was thinking it was just me that thought spines looks ridiculous, especially on female characters, the spines are thicker than her arms!

Can't wait for i16, gunna be so much fuuuuun!

Yeah and mine is as tiny as I could make her. I think I will be swapping to spikes making her more realistic.

I don't know... I don't forsee rolling up a Spine/ scrapper any time soon, even with a concept that works wonderfully with the Thorns image.

I've just never been able to get into the early powers. It always ends up feeling like I don't have an attack chain... It's so AoE oriented that I can't find any kind of DpE chain of any value.

Not to mention that one of its THREE single target attacks is Barb Swipe, which looks awesome - and does diddly. Heck, if I am remembering correctly, it still takes longer to animate than it does to recharge! And all that for a low damage attack... ugh...

So if anyone has any tips on how to make Spines fun, I'll listen, but this one just looks like a pass for me...

...

No matter how nice some of the new looks are.

You know, with i16, I wonder if anyone is actually gonna go out of their way and make a true bananas/ scrapper.

lol. I just dont see the point in excluding play of a PS like spines based on the look. You guys have been missing out. But I admit I will be making another (my 4th). just because of the new look. Welcome to the spiner family though everyone else. you shall not be disapointed if built right.
