  1. I don't care what they do to it as long as they keep that cool "WHURCH! sound.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that you actually like being one of the only 14 heroes/villians on your server at that time.
Well, it never gets THAT low, but I definitely like a smaller server and don't really care at all for the crowds of Freedom or Virtue (where I started out). Different people like different things. If you don't believe that, you probably have an inability to "put on someone else's shoes" as it were.

Honestly, I don't see the same game as you. I am on Victory. I use global channels. I form teams. I post to the forums for events. I get blind invites. Did I mention I play on Victory?.
Victory shuns Broadcast and the out-of-doors.

    SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
  4. I will continue to joyfully miss anything they put on FaceBook, thank you.

Come off it. How would a squirrel learn to ride a bike in the first place?
His mom was in the circus.

  6. Yeah, CoH2 would be my best guess. Can't get much more detailed with this engine (although some of the higher numbered faces are more "realistic" than the lower numbered ones).
  7. Should I finish it with a "Burma Shave!" tag?

Have you ever seen an angry squirrel chase a college frat-guy on a bike?
No, but I would probably find great pleasure in such a thing.

Where can I get a ticket?

    Sharker_Quint has my method:

actually, i got into sets after the first one dropped on me. that lead me to the market which after some research, netted me quite a nice profit.
Same here. I advise heavily against trying to learn "the whole system" at once. Just take your drops and see what it is they do and what the market will give you. Once you get a feel for a few of those, the rest falls into place. You might not know "everything", but you'll certainly be in a better place to learn and figure out things.

Most of the arguments against this are of the 'if they have this problem they're doing it wrong', but I have seen people with this problem. Telling them they're doing it wrong is a terrible idea!
Only if you walk up to them and yell "WRONG!" It becomes a GOOD idea when you walk up to them and say, "Hey, I can show you a much easier way to do that." Every game is different. Learning how each one works in particular is normal and expected.
  11. TOs, DOs and SOs are working as intended and inf is ridiculously easy to come by in this game. I see nothing broken that needs fixing, myself, and no problem that this would alleviate.

  12. Yeah, that's the part that confused me. That the devs would suddenly out of the blue declare something a Unique. One would hope they'd know if something needed that from the beginning. The glitch makes sense, though, and yes, no sympathy for those who knowingly take a risk like that.

    VoodooGirl has a strange worldview:

What I'm saying is, rather than make being in a supergroup a mandatory part of the game, make it an additional layer of gameplay someone can experience if they decide to participate.
I'm lost. That's how it is now.
  14. I think the simplest, easiest solution that would make the most people happy would be to just turn down the drop rate some. Still plenty of availability without clogging up people's trays. I love the new temps, but even I have to admit that the drop rate is a little ridiculous (hopefully intended as a "starter rate" to get people interested in using them).

I do have to admit that I'm against almost all "Fixed Rate" ideas across the board, not just in this area.
  15. Has that happened? An enhancement becoming a Unique and disappearing? That hardly seems fair. One would think maybe "wouldn't work" but disappearing? You'd think they'd at least let you respec out and sell the extras if you didn't know they were going to become Uniques.

Hee, it makes me a little twitchy to write "unique" in a plural form.
  16. Thanks, and, yeah, I had to go confirm that for myself a few minutes ago.

    Zombie Man overexplaines:

One can always assume "as little work as possible" to get it working. Not out of laziness, but time constraints. If they can get this to scale for smaller groups than 24, that's great. But at what point is the cut-off? 20? 15? 3? And if they scale it for smaller numbers, then they have to code for that, and code to prevent soft loading the trial. It's just easier to say, "this was always meant to be a 24 person trial." Just like the new Hami is a 50 person Raid, though it can be done with less without it actually scaling... you just need the right builds and people.
Heehee, way more than I needed. I was just wondering if it was from before or if you'd been getting info from Beta (not quite sure how the NDA would work with something they've publicly announced). Also, "sources" inform me that the details aren't set in stone yet and Castle's still fiddling around with it.
  18. Anywhere I've been that uses this vBulletin format, the absolute best use of the rep system is to turn it off.

    But be on guard-

That...is an interesting idea! Even if they don't use it here, I'd like to see something like that put in the game.

Of course it would have to have a voluntary flag, yadda yadda details yadda.

People kept leaving bad comments (I think some idiots actually thought the mods couldn't see who left what, despite it being anonymous from our POV) and ignore didn't stop people from commenting on you (if you had them on ignore, you would still see their rep comments). Between the two, it was disabled.
Just to be clear, what was disabled? Because the way you put it, it sounds like leaving comments was disabled (that's not true, is it? If so, you gave me news). Do you mean the "read it all on one page" comments?

    Master-Blade tells the tale:

    I LoL'd.

Boxxy (AKA: Boxxybabee, Moldy Lunchbox, Catherine Gomez), uploaded a few short videos in early 2009 that got an unusually crazy response. I don't see the big deal. All she did was ramble on about a couple of her friends on GaiaOnline and defend herself to responses to her first videos.

Supposedly, she is/was part of a group called Mischiefmakers that try to mess with the "outside world" and promote GaiaOnline, in exchange for winning more online currency.

Anyway, her videos have been edited, re-edited and re-uploaded with several variations by now... and many people make caption pictures from them. I guess the marketing worked?
Oh, yes, the story of the reaction to Boxxy is far far more interesting than she herself could ever hope to be.

Shadow Wail read the news today, oh boy:

Since Tip missions are level 20 and higher can we all take a guess to the fact that this is side switching for level 20 and up? Instead of going to Praetoria and going down to level 1 we can stay in Paragon or Rogue Isles and do the tip missions to side switch?
That is correct (more or less known for some time).

Zombie Man gets point of ordered:

The mission is balanced around 24 somewhat competent players with SOs. If you go with less than that, they better be able to pull their weight. Though, Shivans and Nukes might make up for lack of numbers.
Are you basing this on real information or just assuming based on the short window that it was active previously?

Plus, "gray" is American English, "grey" is British English, and IIRC, either one is acceptible in either place.

*Ouch* That means I cannot switch my alignment at will - only when a series of random drops finally gives me the ability to do so.

    That is Not Fun.
You were never going to be able to switch your alignment "at will". That it wasn't going to be so has long been known ever since the devs talked about "cool down" periods and it maybe taking a week to move one alignment notch.

EDIT: Heh, sometimes I think I should just change my name to "DayLateDollarShort".
