Just as an update: I've spoken with a few prospects but only had the chance to meet and tour with one so far. I look forward to meeting with the others and hope to hear from a few more.
Regardless of meeting with any one prospect, I will not be making any decisions until this weekend, so there's still plenty of time to get in on this job.
Thanks again. -
Quote:Get your grubby paws off my Salt Crystals. That's my power. MINE.Cause Lol Eye Beams, Salt Crystals and Physical Perfection are so epic and awesome and are totally just as good. /sarcasm
I like being able to completely nullify 16 members of an enemy ambush while my team deals with the mobs at hand. I like being able to grab the aggro of everything within 30 feet with a huge debuff and status effect. I like being able to stack three layers of -defense on that damn Paragon Protector using elude. I like being able to get 1.875% defense to S/L/E/N in four slots.
You know what? Keep those grubby paws away from Physical Perfection too. An extra Performance Shifter Proc and Conserve Power are incredible when you're trying to build for recharge and defense and can't fit the necessary +recovery to compensate with sets alone. -
Ah, good question. This is on Virtue, redside. That shouldn't matter too much unless you're out of character slots on Virtue and don't have a currently redside, SG-less character.
I'm willing to make "tour" characters on any server to see your work.
Send me a tell in game and we'll work something out for sure. -
EDIT: I have decided on my designer and we have already made our arrangements. I have no intentions of releasing the designer's name, but after completion I will be posting screen shots. Thank you to everyone who has applied.
EDIT 2: Screenshots have been posted.
TL;DR:
I'm lazy and I'm willing to pay up to one billion influence to get two rooms designed.
Details:
I tried to get a specific look out of my main's solo SG base which I use for RP purposes. I have failed to achieve a look I'm pleased with. I've seen some great ideas and took some awesome tours, but when it comes down to it, I don't have the time and patience to try it again.
The look I'm going for is a high-tech medical research and treatment facility. It has to look clean and reputable. One of the rooms is of predetermined size and purpose; the other will be discretionary. The predetermined room is a 4x3 Workshop (this should work out, as I've seen some great "medical" things done with the enhancement storage and invention tables). The second room can be anything up to a 4x3, but I'd prefer 3x3 at this point. The current budget to work with is just over 1 million prestige (rooms and enhancement storage are already purchased).
Contract/payment:
To get the job, I'd like to see some of your work. You don't have to have something similar to what I'm looking for, but it'd help your chances if there's more than one person who applies.
You will be paid 100 million upon accepting the contract. Once this payment is made, the job has officially started. I would prefer the work to be in under 30 days. Upon completion of the job to my satisfaction, you will be paid 650 million.
That's only 750 million total. There is a 250 million bonus available for what I'd consider "above and beyond," like timely completion and overall happiness with the results. For example, if you take all 30 days, but touched up a few extra areas of the base and I absolutely love it, I'll give you the full 250 million here. If you just focus on the two rooms and they look pretty good with a few things I might change later, but you finished in a week, I'll probably throw in 150 million or so.

I just run through like everyone else. I use the Rebirth +max Health to start so my bots are a bit more resilient. I stop at crates and drop my traps on them and start hitting them myself. I keep tapping my defensive/follow macro to keep the pets in a state that they don't draw their own aggro, because at this point I have them around for bodyguard mode and that's about it.
Also, like Adeon, sometimes I just go off on my own and take out crates/canisters as I go. -
I say go with Electric Armor because it has absolutely no resistance to Toxic outside of the T9.
Captain Planet gets destroyed by toxic stuff. -
My absolute favorite would be Dark/Kin, despite mine being a dark/fire. You get -dmg to stack on the resistance, stuns in the mix, and a long term damage buff to really boost Death Shroud.
Dark/elec does well thanks to stacking stuns.
Dark/Dual Blades is one that a friend of mine has done, and he's done some impressive things with it. It's got a lot of AoE, and the mitigation is pretty decent too. I have issue with the lethal damage.
Stone is probably really sturdy, what with all the reliable stuns.
SS has Rage going for it, which makes Death Shroud powerful, but I'm not a personal fan of the set.
Mace, laden with stuns, is a good pick. Also pretty AoE capable.
Dark Melee is too single target focused for my tastes, but the endurance recovery tool is pretty attractive. Also, you can stack fears.
Have I forgotten anything? -
"Oh no, they killed my Protector Bots, time to resummon."
...
"Crap, they killed my Assbot and now I have to wait for the power to recharge since I already summoned once in the past few minutes." -
Quote:Well, to be fair I'm not talking about all masterminds. I answered to the OP's question, which was only for a bots/traps.With respect, I have to disagree on the "no question", the problem with Spiritual on MMs is that pets gain no benefit from the +recharge. While it's certainly valuable from a personal perspective, I think there's enough merit in the other choices to warrant consideration.
I see no benefit to Cardiac, as MMs have it easy on endurance usage and a Bots/Traps gets nothing out of damage resistance enhancement. Nerve offers very little help, because accuracy is easy to come by, plus Supremacy and Tactics which means bots will never miss. The defense enhancement might be of worth, but it's a very small number to begin with. Musculature is really the second best to Spiritual, and I suppose that's worth looking at. Getting an extra 30% damage enhancement is neat (assuming you went T4 Core), but I'd rather boost my entire secondary than three powers of my primary.
Again, Spiritual is one of the only ways to make the actual summon powers come up faster.
Quote:Triage Beacon is somewhere in the +300% regen range when fully slotted before factoring in global buffs/Spiritual +heal. The regen cap is something like +2000% I think, which means that a Rebirth Radial + Triage Beacon still might not cap you on its own. Furthermore, the +max HP effect on Rebirth Core is actually quite unimpressive, around +360 HP at full strength, and full strength is only for 10 seconds. Math-ier people than me have concluded that Radial is actually better for survivability than Core, assuming you aren't wasting too much of the +regen due to hard caps (which is mostly impossible on Bots/Traps without additional outside buffs).
I just don't think extra regen is all that impressive. I'd have to do the calculations to figure out which one truly provided more benefit, but knowing how things have gone in the past, I'd put my money on the +Max HP. -
Human/Dwarf is a good build, if heavy on the melee. It allows you to build some moderate defenses and make a very capable off-tank if you get into IOs.
In fact, the best off-tank I've seen was a Human/Dwarf PB on a MoSTF run. He was tough when he needed to be, but dropped to human for some impressive single target damage output when the aggro was under control. -
-
Yes, you can. But there's not as much benefit to doing so. The reason a MFing Warshade works the way it does (frequent form flopping) is that the forms buff each other. There's very little of that in a PB.
-
Quote:This is total BS. We've done the numbers, PBs aren't far behind Warshades on SOs.But don't mislead people about it and misrepresent the issue here. It's not that "some ATs are better and some are worse but they're all in the same ballpark and you will do fine as a PB" in this instance. It's not the same ballpark. It's not even the same league.
Played and built well they can still do incredible things.
My very first MoSTF had a PB and his contribution to the team was invaluable. MoSTF, at the time, was the hardest task in the game.
I have seen PBs on incarnate trials and they do well. They do not always win the consolation prize as your hyperbole states.
If you enjoy playing a PB, there is absolutely no reason not to play one.
They're not an optimal pick, but following that logic to the extreme means we'd all be the same optimized fire/rad and ill/cold controllers. -
I'm sorry, which of these were bugs?
Ah, I see it. Dark Nova Emanation accepts KB enhancement sets, but does not have a chance for knockback. Except you didn't actually say that. -
Quote:I wouldn't feel right if I didn't provide a source.Ah, thank you. My understanding, actually my misunderstanding, is that you get rares from mission completes. Nearly 7 years of playing this game and I'm still learning.
So, in summary of my wrongness, while exemplared all drops will be the level of the enemy except for mission reward drops, which will be the actual level of the player (or the recipe set).
Here you go. -
You can also get uncommon recipes as mission rewards. I was simply using rare as my example.
-
Dark Armor. Stalkers excel at killing tough targets, but can occasionally get overwhelmed by too many small ones. Oppressive Gloom allows you to only worry about your tough targets, which die quickly enough. You also have stuns to stack with OG. Further, the -damage effects pair nicely with the resistance based armor set.
-
That's actually incorrect. Anything that drops from a mob will be the level of the mob.
If you're a level 50 fighting a level 25 boss and he randomly drops a rare recipe that's a Kinetic Combat, it'll be a level 25 recipe.
If you're a level 50, finish the mission and you are awarded with a rare recipe, it will be level 50, or the max level of the set if that is lower. -
If you're worried about damage, I'd say go with the scrapper.
If you want survival, go with the brute. The higher resistance caps will certainly be noticeable, especially if you use Unstoppable. -

Bots/Traps, lovely build that. I've got one myself.
Alpha: Spiritual, no question. Recharge makes traps come up more often, and will also enhance the recharge time on your henchmen summons.
Judgement: Really, this is to taste. I went Ion for max target hittage (made that word up). Void is also a great choice since you'll be in melee, and the debuff would help you tank stuff and keep your henchmen alive.
Lore: Again, to taste, I think. I went Clockwork Radial because I hear it's got a massive heal and I want to be super tank with lasers. The Dismantler also has a lot of AoE damage. Warworks Core is definitely the path to go for most single target damage.
Interface: Can't go wrong with Reactive, unless you team. Everyone's picking Reactive, so on a team you're better off using something less common. I'd recommend the Paralytic one with -damage, which will reduce your enemies' damage output to almost nothing when added to Seekers and possibly Void.
Destiny: Rebirth MFing Core for max health. As a bots/traps, your defense is already pretty close to capped and you have 75% resistance through bodyguard mode, so +max HP is the only way to become tougher. You already have Triage Beacon so the +regen one is a bad idea. This also helps keep the little bots from being two shotted.
