Considering a Captain Planet-like Tank.

So, if I decided to roll along with this theme, what would be some suggestions? I've been considering Electric Armor with Stone Melee, using Whirlwind from Super Speed, the Fire ancillary, and maybe Cryo Judgement. Any thoughts, or suggestions? Not completely locked into this decision, so if I should go with other primaries/secondaries, what exactly, and why do you suggest those?

Alternatively...been considering Earth/Storm Controller, with Fire Mastery as the ancillary. When I envision Captain Planet though, I imagine a Tanker--who also is enormously weak to poisons, etc. IE, Elec. Armor. What do you think?

Never even heard of Captain Planet. Elemental by the sounds, yeah go with with ya gut.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

That'd be awesome.

Captain Planet was, Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart wasn't he.

So probably, fire aura would be the closest I'd imagine, although I'd pick Electric Armour over Fire Aura, because IMHO Electric is superior to Fire for out and out tanking (If you're like me and just using SO's for the time being), Electric Tanks when they are kitted out can be beasts though. I have one in the high 40's now and its nearly as good as my Invul / SS for out and out abuse taking in smashing and lethal thanks to tough. It can take a fire ball to the chest better than the Invul one can any day of the week. The only let down of course is Defence, you have to get that from the pool powers.

Also with Electric Armour, you never have to worry about end issues again post lvl 26, just steal the endurance from the bad guys!! And of course, there is that vulnerability to toxic.

No matter how heavy end usage your secondary is, Electric looks after them just fine! So, there is that. For the secondary, I'd go with either stone (Earth) or Fiery (Fire... naturally), heck, you even could go ice melee (water).

In the ancillary set, I'd pick anything here. So if say you go fiery melee, then go Earth mastery for example.

Sounds cool!

Having played Elec/Stone, I can tell you that you'll have fun with it. Adding in Cryo should help a lot as well.

Alternatively, you could do Elec/Stone/Arctic, grab Reactive for fire damage and go Cryo or Ion (both extending your sets). And whirlwind, of course.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

For my elemental I went with Ice Armor/Stone Melee with Fire APP and fly/whirlwhind for kicks. Not 50 yet, but Ions would fill the gaps.

Now, Ice covered body might not cut it, so Fire armor would be a good start. I guess the question is: which APP is more visually impressive, stone or ice?

Hmmm, trying to squeeze all the elements in is always tough. I have an Earth/Storm/Fire Controller that almost does it. But for my nature based Tank, I went with Stone/SS/Earth.

If you were trying to do all the elements, I could see a Stone/Fire/Ice maybe cutting it. Tough one.

Power color customization is amazing. Almost any sets you pick can be colored to give your character the multi-element theme you are looking for. Dark Armor might be the easiest, though. You could color your damage aura red for fire. Cloak of Darkness could be white for wind. Ice Melee would give you water. Fire APP would give you fire. Heart could be a red effect of Dark Armor's toggles.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Yeah, power customization is pretty awesome; maybe one day we'll be able to modify our pool powers. Considering how you can modify Incarnate Abilities, I don't think modifying pools would be that big of a deal. I think I'm going to go with Rylas' suggestion, however. Electric Armor is just nasty; not to mention it fits the RP of having that weakness to toxic(pollution). I can also color code a few of the lightning shields to look like the "heart" aspect.

I totally forgot about Tankers being able to spec into an Ice pool. I think Reactive DoT + Pyro Judgment, Stone Melee, Ice ancillary, Elec. Armor, and Whirlwind/Fly will produce desirable results. Considering that Elec. Armor is completely resistance based, am I wrong in thinking that Whirlwind's mitigation, combined with Stone Melee will do me a heap of good? Or is Whirlwind horrendously bad? I've never taken Whirlwind, nor have I ever dabbled in Stone Melee.

So he would need to pick elemental based powers, and then use a costume with the Heart pattern from the Valentine's Day event.

You could use the Rebirth Destiny as the 'Heart' instead.

Necessary.

Consider also that properly colored Stone Melee can be used as 'ice', and that Dark Armor in a nice sea green actually works as "water armor."

Kinetic Melee can easily be water melee or air melee, as you see fit.

I fully support the use of Whirlwind in such a build, though!

Well... you could go Willpower for heart, stone melee, pyre mastery and then maybe the lightning judgement power when you get that far.

Heroes : Angrem (50 Stone tank), Exo Inferis (50 Fire blaster), Exo Proteus (50 ill/emp), IceVengance (50 cold defender)
Villains : AtomBomb (50 Rad/Kin corruptor), Aleks (50 SS/Inv brute), StoneLethal (50 EM/Stone brute), Davroz (50 Bots/Dark mastermind)

I was planning on RPing out the heart aspect. In the show, Captain Planet never really did anything outstanding with that power, other than talk to animals and convince people to stop pollution.

No end issue before lvl 26? I have a ele/ele tank and i am constantly running out of end who is lvl 23 atm.

I do like my WP/stone, and wp/ is definately a good idea for heart; however, if you color it right with the pulsations in Elect armor and the new beast aura, oooo that looks awsome. Just an FYI. Seems you have a nice build comming along. Just be sure to add force feedback procs to fault and tremor and your clickies will be up as often as you need them (oh, and hasten but you knew that with whirlwind )

Post is the future tense, meaning after level 26. At that point, you gain Power Sink, effectively nullifing worries of endurance.
