  1. So which part is supposed to be the surprise?

I'd only believe that figure if it were the relative mass of the MMO playerbase. Surely more than 2% of the population has greater patience than a 4 year old. There is an issue, however, that the largest 23% of the population accounts for 70% of its mass.

Also, 87% of statistics are made up on the spot.

90% resistance is equivalent to the softcap of 45% in mitigation value except for a few cases. Debuffs aren't resisted, so defense helps avoid those. It is common for enemies to have +tohit or -defense which very quickly negates the defense.

All things considered, generally resistance performs better than defense, as long as the resists aren't capped below 90%.
  4. If having to buy powersets is what allows them to develop many more powersets, then I'm all for it. I would love to have more sets to choose from, and would gladly pay for those choices.

I don't believe it would. Tri-Formers currently can't even use Lightform with their other forms.

Sure, you can't cap with just lightform, but I'd take his idea over the current in a heartbeat.

    Abort! Abort!

I have no idea how I missed that. Forget I mentioned it!
  7. This is an amazing idea. Elegant, even.

It would be difficult as maple pancake to code, though.

I already do this with my Bots/Traps. Team Teleport FTMFW.

I always shout "SURPRISE ARMY OF DEATH!" or something similar in team chat when I do it. It's even better when I teleport squishy characters with me.

    Server status

Actually, just look at the server status "last updated" remark at the bottom. Mine says it was last updated late June.
  12. Check at the bottom of the server status page for when it was last updated.

    For instance, mine says:

    Server status

I think you missed the fine print which clearly states "Server status is only an approximated value of true server status. Servers may be in any state of up, down, left, or right regardless of indications above."
  14. Hey everyone, this is tentative right now, but how would next Saturday, the 13th look for my IC meet 'n' greet? (Mentioned above, the "grand opening" of facilities, high profile, swanky public affair)

I'm planning on a three hour block of time, something like 8-11PM EST.

Sound like a good idea? If so, I'll be making my own thread for it tonight.

Do you understand how the game is coded?

Do you by chance have a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering?

So at 85% resistance because of eclipse a WS resists resistance debuffs at 85%.
I was going to reply with this too, but I re-read it and realized what he's asking for is literally a "resistance debuff" to be applied to the enemy, not debuff resistance.

    Any thoughts?
    Here's how I'd do it.

    TF: Required members
    Positron: 1
    Synapse: 1
    Psyche: 1
    Citadel: 1
    Manti: 1
    Numina: 1

    Mantis: 1
    Mistral: 1
    Barracuda: 1
    Recluse: 1

Did I forget any? I'm sure I did. Anyway, they would probably also require only 1.

I draw the line when things you buy affect your performance in the game. Selling Ninja Run is selling convenience. Selling enhancements is selling power.

I think she's just flat out mistaken, although I could have missed it. Maybe someone is claiming that "I win" buttons are being sold, in which case those people are wrong.

There's no "I win" button being sold, but there are ways to make your character more powerful being sold. The ability to "buy power" is something I completely disagree with in a game where an advantage over other players matters. Really, all we can do in this game is help each other. There is no competition and no PvP (don't even try to tell me those zones exist). There is no disadvantage to players who don't buy power.

There's nothing in the store you can buy to make you overpowered. But you can make your character more powerful with cash. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but it's not something I'm against in this game.

Absolutely. I probably lead with Gravitic Emanation more often than I do with Eclipse. Even if there's only one group of enemies, they tend to be spread out enough that I'm better off knocking the fringe back into the group before my Eclipse/Mire. Eclipse makes enemies do 15% of their normal damage. Emanation makes them do 0%. I really think I get as much mitigation from Gravitic Emanation as I do from Eclipse.

I use much the same tactic on my Claws/Dark brute with Shockwave and Spin. Spin has a small radius, so it's very helpful to fold the fringe back on the group.

I actually like Quasar's KB because, unlike Detonation, it's guaranteed. If you hit the target, it's going flying. Detonation is a 50/50 crapshoot.

The trick I use is to position myself on the edge of the group just before I fire. It then acts more like a cone and the bodies end up very near the same places. The radius is 25 ft, so it's large enough to still hit everything after just a sidestep.

For real reply this time: It's nice to meet you people, too. To be honest, I got interested once I saw the bit of drama that got stirred up recently (refusing to actually comment here). I figured the best way to get involved was to just jump in.

You guys hang out together in game or just here?
