Quote:MFing Warshade. The more you add to it, the more obscene it becomes. And the more fun, which is the most important part.Because of this, I'm asking - what archetype and powersets would you recommend, that really get bang for their buck once you start tossing mass purples and PvP IOs at them?
At that high end budget, though, a human only warshade also becomes a very viable build as well. -
Quote:Say what you like, but there are things my Mastermind can do that whole teams have failed at.cause being able to solo on SOs +0x8 (which any AT can do) and AVs is what is important, i9 came out a long time ago bud, oh, and those things called teams.
Not bad for an AT that's "subpar to pretty much every other AT." -
Quote:Not everyone that jokes about death is a troll or even disrespecting the man at all. I'm one of those types to say "Death's coming for us all, so we might as well laugh about it."Anyone want to bet that the trolls are going to have a field day talking crap about a dead man they never knew?
I could make jokes about an iCoffin or something to that nature, but it would take nothing away from what the man had accomplished in his lifetime. If anything, jokes like that only show how much he has done.
I understand there are many people grieving over his passing. My prayers are with them, for what good it may do. But life should be celebrated, even in death. The man had a great run, and accomplished much more than most in his time.
I want people laughing at my funeral. I don't care whether it's laughing with me or at me; by that point I won't know the difference. I think I'll instruct the home to put one of those big red clown noses on me for the viewing, so long as I die in a manner that leaves my face intact. -

Quote:This is fantastic news for me. Positron has the most influence bet on him. I didn't think people would put that much faith in Vick. Posi, I really hate to profit off of your poor fortune, but you are making me a mint.Week 4 Scoreboard:
St. Martial Pai Gow (Alpha Wolf) 131
Foster City Stealth (Positron) 117
Los Gatos Bastardos (Clockwork 01) 74
SF RabidChihuahuas (Crosscheck) 139
Philadelphia Stars (Skippy Sidekick) 102
Team Robo Dominato (Giant Monster) 53
Fremont Traffic Jam (Zwillinger) 86
Pacific Outsiders (Friend of Studio) 131
Friend of the Studio has the second highest amount of bets, and even though he won this week, he's still 1 and 3, so I'm not terribly worried about losing that bet.
The guy that's worrying me is Giant Monster, with just over a billion influence on him. He just lost his first match which puts him 3 and 1 right now and tied for best in his division. If one of you gents would kindly knock him out of contention for a playoff spot, that'd be grand. Otherwise I'm going to have to pay out more than I took in for this bloody event. Oh well, that's the risk I took. -

Quote:Those are patron pools, which are technically available to every alignment (all ATs too*), but the mission to unlock them is restricted to villains and rogues. Thanks I was just curious on the villain side there is Mu mastery and other items.
There are "vanilla" epic pools that are available to everyone** as well which do not have prerequisite unlocks.
*Except Kheldians
**Except Kheldians and Soldiers of Arachnos -
Eh, what the hell? I'll give it a go.
He claims an SO'd dark/electric defender. I've got a PvE specced Brute. Ought to be a fair enough fight.
So how do we do this, meet in Warburg? -
This is a hundred million times needed for new players.
I will be linking this guide in the future. Lots. -
Provided you have Masterminds unlocked on your account, they can be whatever alignment you want.

Quote:Soul Storm's duration is 2 seconds longer at base, and both can be maintained as permanent holds. The way I see it, there are three scenarios that are relevant here.Pet Gaze has 1/2 the recharge of any of the epic holds. Personally, I like to make sure I've got a useful hold for the LGTF, if nothing else. Anyway, even outside that, I want holds to hold, so I'd rather have Pet Gaze.
1. I need a permanent stacked hold.
2. I need a permanent hold.
3. I need to do damage.
Petrifying Gaze works for the first two. Soul Storm works for the last two. Neither one does everything, but if I had to chose, I know that Soul Storm would be more valuable to me. -
Coming from the guy who was whining in another part of the forums about how Street Justice was "nerfed" pre launch...

When compared to thugs or bots: yes.
When compared to any other AT: nah, they still get the job done. -
Very good points, but to emphasize this, at level 20, that MA tanker has a total of zero AoE attacks. Almost every scrapper will have access to at least one AoE by that level which would do a great deal to help stave off such large ambushes. Even if the scrapper had no AoE, he would be doing much more damage. Any damage buffs on the team would further widen this disparity.

I don't have one on hand, but I'll offer my usual: 750m to make a build for you. Guaranteed to meet or exceed your requirements. Just let me know what you're looking to get out of the character.

Quote:I would take the hold from Dark if and only if it fits nicely and I had slots to throw away to make it useful. I'd be much more apt to take the patron hold (e.g. Soul Storm), which you can slot as an attack. Basically, it'd be good for those pesky LTs and minions like sappers, but it'll still be useful against bosses/AVs because you'll still contribute damage.I'm also a bit torn between whether to take the Hold in /Dark and the Hold in a PPP. Part of me wants to shutdown a boss solid, the other part of me thinks the first part is silly because with defense powers plus two of the best -tohit buffs in the game I'm already neutering bosses and their whole spawns.
Quote:Now, do you think I can get away without a travel power? I've been doing okay with Ninja Run (with the Jump Pack and some temp Jetpacks for heights), and it's useful indoors and out, without having to dip into any travel pools. Or is there some other hidden utility, like slotting one for KB protection?
When it comes to masterminds, I don't like most travel powers. Teleport is particularly good because it almost forces a respawn every time and you never run into the pets dragging extra aggro problem. I also grabbed Team Teleport because I really like being able to "Surprise Robot Army!" around. It helps manage the pets in situations like Apex and clogged doorways as well. -
I don't know about 50+ more per hit. I'd imagine at the end of the day the DPS numbers are fairly in line with each other.
MA only has one AoE and it's on the weaker side, but it recharges very quickly and offers consistent knockdown. StJ has two AoEs, but one is just a melee cone. I'd imagine the other one hits much harder than Dragon's Tail, but I doubt it recharges as quickly. -

If your behavior on the forums is in any way indicative of in game, I have no doubts about what causes you to have trouble finding teams.
