I don't think its massively difficult. It just manages to remove a lot of fun from the game and make it more grindy. Lifes bad enough before stamina then they remove our early temp travel powers (from safeguards). It appears that it's supposed to be an introductory zone, in which case the difficulty is completely incorrect imo.
(also other things spring to mind, by doing praetoria you 'skip' 3 safeguard/mayhem missions, currently there's no other way to pick them up than someone else getting them on a lowbie? maybe its time to add them to Ouro) -

It's definitely not the first attempt on EU servers btw. Seen at least a couple on defiant prior to that.
As far as regen debuffs go, how about
Cold Domination Benumb -300% 30s
Kinetics Transfusion -50% 20s
Traps Poison Trap -1000% 30s -
Dark/energy defender also seems pretty rare

Quote:Which simply proves the point that it is easier to complete sets with a-merits.... whether you are using them for inf or for recipesThis is yet to be determined, but early feedback suggests that it's simply easier to buy stuff from the market than grind A-merits. In fact, using A-merits to buy something valuable, selling it and using the profits to buy something you want is probably the more optimal route.

Tried multiple dominators, never been a fan but am thoroughly enjoying my currently L23 Elec/Earth, great fun (though it'd be nice to have more damage for that domination effects)

I like the change and I have a L50 shield scrapper. It was in danger of becoming City of Shields, so common were shield using melee characters. Now it seems a bit of balance has been restored. I also feel better about making a ma/sd concept I had, as it doesn't look as much like bandwagon jumping nowadays.

According to Mids, You have 52.9% DDR, with one stack of active defense, and around 70% with a second stack, can't see any way with that build you hit anywhere 95% DDR consistently.
-
How do you get 100% DDR?
-
I have no problem with the kb hole. The main problem I encounter on fire due to its lack of avoidance is end draining and slows.
-
I enjoy playing a bubbler, lets me just do a few buffs every now and then and help the team out by blasting away. Skippable powers means I'm not missing out on anything to take Fitness, Leadership and travel pools while still taking most of my secondary.
-
Quote:Oh. Do purple inspirations not drop from those enemies? Do you not monitor your defense so if it starts dropping you can eat one to stop the cascade?
Here's a shocking revelation: I play /SD without capped DDR. I fight all kinds of enemies. I haven't had my defense drop to the point where I might as well not have a secondary in...I don't even remember. Learn to play.
Personally, I don't believe you. And the learn to play argument...that's so mature.
Additionally I understand more now about the scrapper forum, there'll never be agreement as there is too much ego flying around. I love the way you all refer to 'average players', as though you are some sort of superstar players. Yes some players are better than others, but spending billions on a character certainly helps bridge that gap. -
Quote:I am aware of that. However the sheer speed of killing of shield scrappers makes the rest of the team obsolete. I prefer to actually play my characters rather than watching others play theirs.Shield charge isn't needed for that. There are plenty of scrapper builds that can solo 95% of taskforces and will do so. If you want fun play a squishy on a speed tf with heavily twinked out scrappers. Its either build to ghost or stay back we will call you when we get to the AV/GM.
. -
Many people enjoy many sets however there is nothing currently in the game that can make something as boring as shield can. Do missions with 2+ shield scrappers and good luck being able to actually use any of your powers, you are basically just along for the ride....not fun, kind of like were tanks were pre ED in terms of excitement.

I love my /SR scrapper, his defense is above the softcap and it never drops due to his DDR. His build cost me about 100 million inf all told, to get to the same levels of defence on my shield scrapper will cost a lot more.
I don't find that SR underperforms in any way, it's quite amusing teaming with someone boasting about their softcapped defence who then gets it debuffed to oblivion without knowing why they just died. I was on a 8 man RWZ team, the brute (think he was elec) died a few times before saying he was fed up of being shown up by a scrapper and asked me to herd mobs so he could nuke em.
SR is a great set, it stands on its own, I don't care if others get def through IOs... I get to keep my defence -
I have just levelled a shield scrapper to 50 and am glad of the change. Shield Charge takes no skill and removes the fun for anyone in a team without it.

Something certainly seems to be wrong, I couldn't access my account from main page either.

Spiderbane
Deathwidow

What sort of defense debuff resistance does EA have?
Thinking of trying a brute and undecided about going claws/sr or dm/ea. Obviously SR laughs at defense debuffs, is ea similar in terms of DDR ? -
Thanks for the comments. Was unsure about tremor as wasn't sure about it being knockdown or knockback.
-
Personally I would go for either Katana, Broadsword or Dark Melee with SR, they seem to have the most synergy (def buff/to hit debuff)
-
I have a 50 fire/ss tank, was my first tank and very enjoyable. Was actually fairly survivable when levelling as I was on a fixed team that had some serious aoe damage (and kin). I stopped playing mine as at the time no one wanted a fire tank for things like statesmans tf, and the 'loot run' of the time was croatoa tf which was a fire tanks worst nightmare.

Thanks for the thoughts/suggestions
This is a cheapish (bearing in mind I already have most of the IOs) build I put together
Any thoughts on it (yes I know travel power is late, but I can get around fine with jetpack/ninja run until then)

Electric Armour seems a little rarer than other sets for tanks so I want to make one. I have had experience with a variety of tanks (Fire/SS, WP/WM, WP/Fire, Ice/EM) but am coming back from a 20 month break from the game and things seem to have moved on considerably. None of my alts have really top notch builds so I am looking to put a character together from scratch.
I am in the fortunate position of having my own SG base with around 500 set IOs stored (including lots of Kinetic Combats, I seem to have been lucky in predicting the love of that set, and have around 20 complete sets) so I am in a position to have a fairly well geared tank.
I am somewhat indecisive on what to combine with my electric armour though, my thoughts are mainly Ice, Stone or Dark at the moment.
As well as that I was wondering about electric. It looks like a very tight set to build around, no obviously skippable powers, though obviously if defense/res is high enough then power surge could be skippable, also I'm thinking Grounded could be skipped (using IOs for kb resist)
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/sample builds/suggestions
