    Dear Champion II

I'll do it if I ever get off my a** and fix my mic.
  2. DaveMebs

    OK I lol'd...

you should use urbandictionary.com not wikipedia

Wikipedia deletes all the good stuff
  3. "It's a great power trip to have a Steel Strongman with his back to you, running in place, while you unload on him."

    Kinky

    Aoe farm build?

Are you alternating DC and LR on each mob or using em both on the same mob

    Expand Oro exits

Not sure if it would be possible to bring back that stuff. There's an excellent chance they didn't create a whole new zone (New Faultline for instance) but rather edited the old one. Which means they probably don't have all the data and programming from the old zones. If it is indeed possible though, I'd be all for it.
  6. I would love this.
    /signed

(but I have no idea how tough it would be to do and who would do it)

    2x merit weekend

    /signed

It's not like it will completely screw up the game. I'm sure TFs will be run more but I'm sure you can find a few people to team with you. I'm not a market expert but I think adding double merits to double xp weekend would help prevent the market screw-up that occurs during 2x xp weekends.

    New Inspiration

IMO, most of the inspirations are pretty overpowered. Lucks turn you invincible, a small red is actually 1.5 times more potent that Build Up, break frees give easy mez portection to squishies, etc.

It's not like the insp would be as strong as power boost. I'm thinking 1/4 the strength, 6 times the duration. The same values that small reds have in proportion to build up.

    New Scrapper

Sounds to me like shield is the way to go. I probably should have mentioned that I played a db/regen up to 30 and deleted it. I think I'll go with fire/shield since I have heard so many good things about it. And fire is awesome enough that I think I can stand leveling another up. Besides, none of my scrappers are DPS monsters and I'd like one that can challenge crazy dudes like Iggy Kamikaze. Thanks for the tips!

Oh really? I could've sworn I've seen numerous posts about how TG and HPT allow you to cap HP. I'm probably mixing it up with tankers and/or Dull Pain.

    To filch:

I'm not entirely sure why you said I didn't quote you. I actually did quite a few times. I just used quotation marks instead of typical forum quotes.

And filcher, you mind posting whatever shield build you have that gets so many comments? I'm interested in how much regen/HP you have gained by not taking the fighting pool.

    New Scrapper

    So I already have an IO'd DM/invuln Fire/SR elec/elec spine/wp bs/wp and kat/regen.

Any ideas for a new scrapper? I'm currently thinking something along the lines of claw/fire or ma/shield. I usually don't like to play sets that I have already played before. Suggestions?
  13. "With soft capped defense you do not need the dam res from Tough and the slots (IMHO) are better spent on things like health, regeneration"
--I'm a little confused. You're saying softcapped defense is enough that you don't need dam resist (and I find that statement ridiculous), yet you advise getting health and regen bonuses to add to survivability. Make up your mind. Does the build need more survivability after softcapped defense or not? Not only that, but with True Grit and the passive accolades you will basically be at the HP cap so those +HP bonuses won't do jack s***.

"If you are slotting Boxing/Kick I would submit that your build certainly isn't optimal."
--Then you probably haven't made many builds. Those two powers can slot some of the best sets in the game if you have the slots to spare. Absolute Amazement, Stupefy, Kinetic Crash, and Kinetic Combat to name but a few.

"frequent firing off of the Gausian b/u proc as its slotted in a toggle rather than a click power"
--You would be surprised how little this actually fires off when it's going to be of much use. You're generally better off putting it in BU.

"In fact I pointed out the Fighting Pool actually makes it easier to hit the soft cap."
--Which allows you to slot for more recharge. And you obviously want SC up as much as possible.

"How you slot for damage resistance is a side point."
--THEN WHY DO YOU MENTION IT SO MUCH??? Practically your entire post is about how he doesnt need damage resistance and yet here you say it is nothing but a side point???

"However the most "optimized" build I've seen soft caps defense"
--You realize nearly every single shield build softcaps defense? Not just the "optimized" ones. (There are a few BS builds who use parry to make up for lack of melee def and a few others who use purple insps regularly)

"NOT TO TOOT MY OWN HORN BUT... "
--.....but you're going to do it anyway.

"can solo the cysts in the ITF"
--Gratz. So can my un-IOd dark/elec defender.

Side Note: Scrappers gain the least benefits out of all the ATs from the leadership pool. They have the lowest numbers.

Side Note: You talk about how leadership is better b/c it helps out the team but you also mentioned that you didn't take Grant Cover. You realize GC is about 5 times as strong as Manuevers? And the accuracy gained from tactics is nice but probably not worth a power choice. Most of the melee attack sets, and also defense sets have accuracy bonuses which are already more than enough. (GC will also help prevent cascading defense issues) And if you really want to sacrifice your character's overall capabilities for the team, go make a *gasp* defender.
  14. You honestly could not find an elec/shield build in the forums? A thread is started about those like every other day. I'll let it slide since you seem to be new to the forums (only 23 posts).....And I hate to tell you, but if you think spines/fire has low damage, the scrapper AT may not be the one for you. Spine fire doesnt have a great ST attacks but it is top 3 in AoE damage (only two that compare are elec/shield and fire/shield)

Nonetheless, if you want to play an all around scrapper, go with fire/shield. With 1bil you can make it very survivable, put out excellent AoE damage, and maintain an awesome ST chain that is probably the best scrapper chain out there.

To all the dark/shield lovers who claim dm/shield has better ST, I say fire is better since it takes much less effort and you don't have to worry about not killing your SD + AAO fuel (even though dm/shield might have better DPS in the right situation).

That's what I was pretty much thinking. You also forgot to mention how bad awakens are on fire/fire blasters slotted for AoE damage and recharge!
  17. Gotta be #5 or 7 if it isnt badge merit taskforce
  18. DaveMebs

    Stupid question

The REAL challenge would be doing it on a spine/regen which doesn't even have claws' high DPS
  19. Huh, I never knew BMT stood for Badge Monster Task Force. I always thought the "M" stood for "Merits"

Im also betting on you throwing up a Mids build scared people off from the post. Its annoying enough comming in to give someone advice for a build, and all the sudden your mezmorized by a Mids map that you dont care to see right off the bat, then get a comment like the one above, making it seem you dont find it a worthy build without IOs,but are surprised it is?

Where you dropped as a child?

Who cares if he wants to use IO's? Frankly, I'm a little confused as to why you are so upset at this choice. Are you really going to condemn everyone that thinks maxing out their character's capabilities?

i will admit this sounds alot like the vanguard medal to me.
Yeah it's essentially a weak version of vanguard medal. I don't think enhancing procs would be the way to go (seems like it would be complicated to program, and likely require a lot of work, if it's even possible). I think it would basically just not be very good for fire toons. Kind of like how break frees generally arent very good for melee toons.

    New Inspiration

No, not a recharge inspiration. I'm thinking a cool insp would be one that enhances secondary effects of a power. Pretty self-explanatory I think. The only issue that I can think of is how it would work with fire powers since fire's secondary effect is damage. It could just enhance the secondary damage, but that would basically just be like a gimped damage insp. What do you think of the idea, and do you have any ideas as to how it could work with fire powers?
