  1. I'm not much of a tanker-lover but it seems that a softcapped shield toon would do nicely with the extra Defense Debuff Resistance and AoE carnage.

Are you sure? I have casted it many times and it has hit, but a teammate killed the target during the animation and the heal did not work.

    Thunderous Blast

Why slot for end mod when you can just slot for dmg and kill them?

EDIT: Another note, I generally slot 3 dmg, 2 recharge, and 1 accuracy in nukes

    Ice/Psi Build

30 views and no replies? Is ice/psi a crappy build or something?

Best part about sonic is the AoE resistance debuffs. I suggest you run with one firekin, and the other a spine/fire.
  6. I'm gonna say DM/invuln. DM has nice tohitt debuffs that dont do a whole lot but they are nice. The real reason to go for DM is siphon Life. On a toon with no fast recharging self-heal, SL is pretty awesome. In an attack string of Smite-->SL-->Smite-->MG the siphon life power adds a buttload to your regen.

The reason I say invuln is because of the high resistances, Dull Pain, and ability to softcap. On budgetless build you can achieve softcapped fire/cold and smahing/lethal without a whole lot of effort. Granted, invuln could get wrecked by defense debuffs. This is where Invincibility comes in. You get a defense bonus for every foe within melee range, so it is feasible to attain defense in the 55-60% range (assuming you were softcapped already). So, it would require a string of lucky defense debuff shots from the enemy to kill you. Not to mention you have DullPain, Siphon Life, and very high S/L resists in the case that they do negate your defense.

One other contender would be willpower, though I think WP has a much greater chance of getting wrecked by debuffs.
  7. Anyone ever thought that even though prices are high, it's not actually THAT bad? I mean, even if you marketeers drive the prices way up, I still benefit from that because now I can sell my stuff at a hgh rate. Likewise, if you guys did not drive prices up, I would be making much less cash. So in essence, I am partially benefitting from your ebilness (So long as I dont go for the "buy it nao" price, that is).

The only thing I really hate is when I'm trying to IO a toon and some jackas* marketeer decides to buy up all the ancient artifacts and list them at a ridiculous rate.

If the above point(s) have already been brought up, I apologize. I do not have the time, nor the testicular fortitude to go through and read 7 pages of ranting and debate.

EDIT: I am not saying that when people buy up all the salvage that there aren't ways around it. I'm simply saying that it's annoying. And it has been brought to my attention that they are not always jackas* marketeers who do that.

    Ice/Psi Build

This is basically my first dom and also my first redsider. I am looking for a build that is cheap since I have no infamy, but still pretty strong. I normally make my own builds but since I have no experience here, I am not really sure what to do. I'll probably use a build posted here and make small adjustments according to my playstyle. Any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, I have read a couple of threads about ice/psi and I read the guide already.
  9. You can still store way more than 2bil on a toon. Go to went's, find a lvl 53 IO (all over the place) and bid 2billion. Then do that however many times you need to. If you don't want to waste a slot, just do this on a toon that you don't ebil marketeer on. It's still not as good as having the inf cap raised (which will never happen) but it allows you to store 34bil on a single toon instead of 2bil.

I think there are some badges that give you more slots so you could go beyond that but I am not sure how many attainable slots there are and the work required to get them.

If you STILL need a way to store more cash monies on a single toon, I think you would have much better luck asking for more slots in WW.

EDIT: For those who need clarification, lvl 53 IOs exist on the market but are never dropped so there is no chance of your bid ever being filled.

I thought a fire/fire dom could beat it out
  11. DP/Ice blaster, floor their recharge (DP/MM would work too but not quite as well)

I'd rather have a guy that outputs better damage and survives much longer than be able to say he is fire^3. I guess I just dont really care much about concept. Besides, you're gonna look silly a lot whenever you have a teammate buffing you.

No restrictions or themes or anything though please for the love of god, if there are 7 blasters signed up, don't make another blaster. You get the idea.

I've had a MA/SR sitting at level 13 for over a year, and literally 8 or 9 versions of her build in mids, and I can't come up with one that softcaps without unacceptable sacrifices. Only place I'd play it is if they port it to tanks, since their higher values would make it trivial, rather than a pain in the butt, to softcap.

Stone armor is probably the last. Outside granite the set is too squishy and end heavy, and inside granite you'd be lucky to solo anything inside a year (let alone climb a 2 inch curb). I don't want to trade off all my offense for the defense the rest of the set ought to be providing. Not to mention that, even with the customization, it's still pretty weird looking.

Sorry to get off topic but I have a major problem with this.

    1. Softcapping a SR is sooo easy. Throw a steadfast in, grab tough/weave and combat jumping, throw mako's bite sets in, touch of death if you have the cash and 6-slot an APP immob with enfeebled operation. If you cant slot ToD slot 5 razzle dazzle in boxing. Bam. Softcapped. What exactly did you have to give up to achieve this?

    2. On a stone armor tank/brute you want to take the alpha strike in granite, exit granite, when you get low on hp swap back into granite, rinse and repeat. Not as good as a WP or invuln IMO but it's still solid.

  17. I don't have time at the moment to read everything and look at the builds in this post so I'll just post my build. It's softcapped to S/L, has solid recharge (70% but no hasten), the only thing I don't like about it is the lack of a nuke. Inferno is very fun but I couldn't fit it in and maintain all the other aspects of the build. Only thing to watch out for in the build is end drain. Consume helps a lot but I do sometimes have to pop a blue in longer battles. However, the dmg on this toon is beastly so the battles are generally short-lived.

  20. Not sure if it's full already. If not, or if someone drops I'll join. I can bring a scrapper or blaster.

I can bring damage. Blaster or scrapper though scrap is probably better due to better survivability

You'll get better responses if you post this in the PvP section of the forums. Btw kat/invuln is not a very good pvp'er
