Question about Kinetics and a Proc

If I have a Touch of the Nictus: Chance for Negative Energy Damage slotted and the proc fires resulting in a killshot. Will the heal go off or will it be wasted? To be more specific, does the proc's damage tick before or after the healing effect?

Thanks.

It doesn't matter. Transfusion works by summoning a pseudo-pet at the target's location and it is this pet that performs the healing. As long as the target is alived at the time the to hit roll is made the pet will be summoned and hte heal will go off.

Are you sure? I have casted it many times and it has hit, but a teammate killed the target during the animation and the heal did not work.

It's a different situation though. The server has to perform different powers in a specific order so what you see is one power affects the enemy (killing them) so your entire power fails. In this situation the power is successful so all of the effects of the power should be applied. I could be wrong but everything I've seen suggests otherwise.

in any case it should be pretty easy to check. Go find a low level NPC in Atlas and keep casting transfusion on them until it procs and they die then see if you get the healing.

Yeah, this would be the best thing to do. I know it would work fine with Twilight Grasp, but that drops a psuedopet at the caster's, not the target's location, so different mechanics there.

TG and Transfusion are two different beast. If the target dies TG still works. The same can not be said of Transfusion. If the heal works for Transfusion, then I would believe the proc would work as well.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll have to test this out.
