  1. Vigoray-I like the idea of this set. Of course the devs would need to tweak the numbers, but the overall concept...yeah that rocks man. Good looking out. Cheers.

I think "some" is good to very good. What's that about too much of a good thing? That is where TOR seems to have found itself.

or people right? I understand that for sure.

BTW, yes they eat (dog meat) dogs in some Asian countries as well as MANY other countries across the world. As a matter of fact in the late 19th century in the US there are many documented cases of Americans eating dog meat dogs by choice as well as necessity.

Of course things have changed over time, but it is not as taboo as people might think.

I've come to realize that (strange as it may seem) this is an incredibly rare thing in MMO-land.

But yeah, nothing major ever needs to change in CoH, it could go on forever. But I guess, to keep up with the times, it would be nice to have the character model graphics updated a bit. Again, nothing drastic, more or less like it is, but better (less boxy models, basically). Cozzies/textures are pretty much ok (apart from a few odd low rez textures here and there still), but it's the models themselves that are just looking too low poly.

One of the few other MMOs I actually like a lot, EVE Online, has managed to gradually reinvent itself graphically more than once, and looks absolutely stunning these days. I know an actual game world with lots of real "clutter" in it is a different kettle of fish from a game that's mostly empty space, but still, Paragon have done great work with the game world, and if I had a remaining wish for CoX going forward it would be this, just better models.
I know what you mean, EVE has really improved on all of its gfx over time and now looks almost real out there in space.
  6. Roll it. I say roll what you feel and have fun. I don't think you should limit yourself if you really want to roll a ranged scrapper. Clearly you are not trying to min/max and just have fun.

Nobody has the right to stand in the way of that. Cheers.
  7. More weapons packs are good for us and the devs UNLEASH THE KRAKKEN DEVS!

Tell you what, stop quoting my posts, stop responding to my posts, just forget that I am here that way I can't be about me. I am not interested in you quoting my posts or in you making up responses I never made and in general the labels attached to my opinion that was amen'ed by Coyote_Seven the second it was posted.

PLENTY of people feel exactly what I posted are not strange and are allowed to not define skill or anything else they want to do without your judgement or even comment at this point since it is unwanted and will be considered harassment beyond this point.

I don't have to read your mind you posted "What I find at least a little strange is the need for them to proclaim it in response to the OP"

This stupid witch hunt that you are on to find fault with anything I post is getting old. I am not the one calling people positions in this thread strange or going out of my way to reinterpret what people are posting saying they are calling people elitist when they never used the word, you are.

I was not arguing I was restating my previously stated position after it was reinterpreted to some made up crap.

I bet. That is what I was thinking, so many great creations. We have some very talented folks in the forums.

Thank you for doing this contest and the gallery, you guys and gals ROCK!

Then that is just you looking for something to call strange man. There are a bunch of people in this game that feel exactly the way I articulated and those are the majority of people I have encountered since i came in I8.

It is no stranger for someone to articulate that position than it is for any other position set forth in this thread. You proclaiming it strange, while superfluous is...."interesting".

I don't do undertone, I say what I mean and mean what I say, no need for re-interpretation.

Perhaps these were the people I was referring too when I said that some people just take this game too seriously.

All that said, I do still find it interesting that several people answered a question about how to define skill with declaration about dislike or disinterest in defining skill. Purely for example, and not to pick on them in any way, Emberly gave a non-answer early in the thread. "If the player isn't actively pissing me off, then the player is good enough for me." That doesn't really define skill at all - it declares a low personal threshold for skill (or lack thereof).

I suppose those can be seen as fair ways to respond to the ending questions in Thirty-Seven's post: "Lastly, is skill important? Necessary? Does it even exist as a factor in this game at all?" Some people just skipped the first part of the OP and answered only these.
To me not feeling the need to be bothered with defining skill should not be so difficult to understand, some people just don't give that much of a damm. Not really hard to digest on it face value alone.

  16. Uber-I guess that post was directed towards me, if so I would like to point to the last line in my post "Don't get me wrong we like everyone to pull their weight, but some people just take playing this game way too seriously IMHO."

To me that does not mean anything other than what it says.I did not assign that title to anyone in particular since it applies to whom it applies too no definition required.

I do find it less than amusing that somehow you got that "I" assigned the title "elitist" to anyone since that was not written by me nor implied. Nobody said you were or that you stress because of the way you choose to play the game.

There was no derailment in "my" post since I was specifically dealing with my perspective on the OP's question and not the additional stuff you added.

If you can seriously say that there are not people that take the game too seriously then we can just agree to disagree right now. Otherwise, I don't see a problem with me mentioning that fact.
  17. Hi Zyphoid nice to see you.

I thought I saw a post a few days ago about it, but I can't find anything recent with search.

We actually had a guy leave and a couple kicked out of our chat channels for constantly bringing up forum crap that NOBODY wanted to deal with in the course of playing the game and having fun.

We keep it light, support each other, run activities, tease, cajole and generally all around have a good time.

I can't think of playing this game worried about other people's builds and if they use x power under x condition etc... that is all to much anal retentive behavior for my tastes.

Don't get me wrong we like everyone to pull their weight, but some people just take playing this game way too seriously IMHO.
  19. Sensational ideas and the only reason we don't see them on TV is the cost/benefit ratio for TV commercials.
  20. How do you define player skill?

I don't, I just play the game. Getting into all the crap that people get into in these forums would totally ruin the game for me.

My in game friends just chat and play, no need to bring all that extra drama into it, when we are all just trying to have fun, that's what the forums are for lol.
  21. Amazing story of human perseverance and ingenuity. Too bad he doses not live in a country where the people have decided that every human being deserves healthcare, not just the rich people.
  22. Understood.

One thing that really chomps my hide is gaming companies talking about code in a retail game that cannot be touched because the person wrote it is gone and the program would collapse if messed with in certain ways like to give use more base functionality.

Argh. Why let "any" code into a retail program that cannot be adjusted, save one guy you are going to fire because you don't like him anyway.... This happens in the computer industry way way way too much.
  23. No stick to the Dark/Fire Dom solar theme. It is a good combo.
