Seems like you (Ultimate Wrath) are getting confused, partaking in surveys on a website in exchange for in-game influence DOES touch in-game.

I'm not sure how picking SR over DA is ever a mistake unless for some reason you hate your endurance bar ever being full.

Quote:When TPN first went live, I ws on one of Pinnacle's first runs of the trial (a "trial run" if you will, har har). We didn't have any expectation of succeeding, and we didn't, it was more of a "let's see how this works" sort of thing. And I like that, I like experimenting with strategies. And it's not like we're just being tossed in blind, every single trial has had a guide posted in its patch notes, so there's really no excuse at all for not knowing what's going on. What's that, you don't read the patch notes? Well whose fault is that?I do not mind difficult. it should be difficult. I mind poor witing. TPN is easy because you just grind the same thing in different spots forever. It is dumb writing in the extreme. And poor programming as well it seems.
The Minds of Mayhem is indeed difficult. I only know what I am doing there because of a very good instruction from someone. In game. The Trial itself offers nothing of value in determining what you should do. That is the problem. You cannot write content and expect people to know what to attempt to do. That is sloppy and unforgivable from a content provider. Shame. Shame.
Also I really don't give a damn about the story in any of the trials, City of Heroes has pretty poor writing on the whole anyway. If I wanted good writing, I'd get off the computer and read a book. -
Based on those ships, I'm guessing that we'll get our first look at the invaders (rumored to be Skrulls or their equivalent) in the trailer.
That would actually explain some of the scenes we've seen of the team members fighting (I hope, since the standard superhero misunderstanding fight is ridiculously cliche at this point). -
Quote:Young kids technically aren't even supposed to be playing the game, I don't think. (Yes, I realize that they do, but the devs aren't going to actively enable this behavior.)Why? it's a good way for young kids to earn money or in this case credit on a game that is equal to real money(think of it as a gift card for COH) that is absolutely not going towards drugs and or booze.
As for your ridiculous drug reference...wow.
Regarding why, I don't like my entertainment bogged down my advertising. While it is a necessity of capitalism (and if anyone even tries to take this statement and start a separate political/economic argument I will have a mod close down this thread, because seriously), most of the time it's a vile, crass and obscene medium. -
Quote:/settitle #Hmm So are you all telling me that if I wanted to change my badge title from Kitties Got Claws to Tough there is something |I can type to change this?
where # is (drumroll) a number from this list. In your example it would be /settitle 1559 (although keep in mind that these numbers can and do change from issue to issue since new badges get added). -
Alanis says...
"Nothing in this thread is actually ironic."
.........................................../
Now THAT'S irony! -

Ick. The idea of people participating in advertising to earn in-game stuff makes me sick to my stomach.

Holy crap, /signed like the fist of an angry Incarnate. I just got a new monitor and have my old one set up as a secondary, this would be great as long as it's not too system intensive to have the extra space there.

I'm not sure what bizarro world you people are living in, TPN is one of my favorite trials, and it's pretty easy so I'm not sure why it doesn't get run as often as BAF at this point. Compared to Minds of Mayhem, which is unpleasantness wrapped in misery which I'm pretty sure I've never even successfully completed. I can't imagine preferring that suckfest to TPN.

Quads generally aren't subject to exemplar effects on enhancements because the bonuses aren't high enough, so that may be a contributing factor as well.

Quote:You mean besides the non-endgame story arcs, task forces, trials and repeatable mission content (tips) they've been releasing this entire time?I've got one at 43rd and she IS a real blast to play. I agree with you that this game can really keep one interested in exploring new powersets. Now if they'd just spend some 'love resources' on anything other than end-game content, I could exist here a happy man till the end of days

Quote:Oh, that's right, I forgot he's actually leaving in I23, not I22.No, devs did not say anything like this. Kind of the opposite actually, they've said the whole deal with Statesman being phased out will be I23 because they didn't time the end of WWD properly to line up with I22 and they didn't want to phase everything on the incomplete story, kind of implying there's more changes than just Statesman getting written out.

As soon as I saw the publish announcement I knew someone would post a thread like this.
Quote:Haven't they said that I22 will coincide with the end of WWD? In which case it might be more like early March.I22 will go live mid February most likely. We haven't got any level bumps yet, so we still need high end Darkness Control testing, and think Dark Assault still had some changes to be pushed through and tested. This publish is probably putting the next few weeks' worth of stuff onto the Paragon Market so it can easily be 'activated' each Tuesday. Pocket D costume pack, roman costume pack, SSA #1 part 6, etc. -
This is how I have my characters organized, I move them up as they progress through the levels. It's been fun to watch who's moving how quickly, and it also conveniently orders my level 50s.

Quote:He showed up in a few missions. However, it looks like he's not in the current versions of those missions, which is interesting. It makes you think they're saving him for something (or just decided not to bother revamping him). Was there ever a mission that used shadowhunter? The only one I recall from Maria is consecrating the bones of his victims so he couldn't be revived.

Quote:Like attracts like. Many "snarky" posters have no problem responding to a question or suggestion nicely, when the OP posts with some measure of humility. But when you (the general "you") come barging in and start acting like you know exactly what you're talking about and you're definitely right despite everyone else (including an actual developer who does this crap for a living) telling you otherwise, then yeah, you get what's coming to you.So basically this whole snarky thread shows us 2 things:
1. Many people would like to have travel powers suppress instead of detoggle (myself included, I very likely won't buy any until this is "fixed")
2. This forum isn't much different than any other.. most posters mean well, but come off as complete jerks...
btw, Forbin just because you were actually right in this case doesn't mean you didn't come off looking like a jerk (at least to this neutral observer).
For what it's worth, I agree that the detoggling thing is annoying, and even if I did have much interest in the current detoggling powers (the hover board is ugly, the magic carpet is eh, and I don't have any Animorph characters), I probably wouldn't bother getting them unless I specifically planned on using them on toggle-light characters. Of course, none of this is what the OP was really addressing in the first place. -
Rob/Tim is worthless for any kind of high-end gameplay, what you should look into is a Bill/George Scrapper, or maybe a Bob/Ted Controller.

Quote:Drop pools don't actually work like that but by all means feel free to persist in your ridiculous conspiracy theories.I feel your pain. I can't remember the last time I got a purple drop. hours upon hours of farming and nada. Though I suspect that old school farms like the demon farms were nerfed some time ago as far as drop pool ratios. I've run entire maps with nary a recipe drop. By contrast I have a buddy who teams with me frequently though he doesn't play nearly as much as I, and will land a purple drop literally every day he plays. If it's really just luck I could use a nice infusion of the good kind
P.S. Perhaps your friend is not being entirely honest with you. Just a thought.
