/Dark slotted with Diamagnetic Interface?
- -Res from Tar Patch
- -ToHit from Diamagnetic, Twilight Grasp, Darkest Night, Fearsome Stare, Dark Servant if the dope manages to stay alive for long enough
/Time would also be a good powerset to have, since it provides +Def, +Rech (both probably perma by that point I'd think), -Res and -ToHit. -
stupid damn stupid dumb stupid stupid forum ate my stupid dumb stupid post HATE HATE HATE
Short version:
Green Lantern - sturdy only because of energy fields, always saw him as FF/Energy Defender
Human Torch is only agile because he can fly
Doctor Doom almost defies archetype - fits Blaster, Mastermind, even Defender/Corruptor
Punisher, Domino, Bishop, Green Arrow - we already have a power Blasters can take for characters like these, it's called [Tough] from the Fighting pool (also [Weave])
But I still kind of like the idea for another Blaster inherent. Maybe it could work like the scaling resistance that Super Reflexes gets. -
/SIGNED DAMMIT
It would certainly be a huge step beyond that stupid level 50 Morality Mission where you meet your future self as a cheesy angel/demon (depending on alignment). -
Quote:I was thinking about this recently. I wonder if it would be possible to have a contact (or a separate crystal, whatever) in Ouro that would just exemplar you down to the specified level. Then just have the radio/paper to work off combat level versus experience level. Then you can just go back to Steel Canyon/Cap au Diable, run the necessary number of repeatable missions, and get your lower-level Safeguard/Mayhem.IIRC, the devs have indicated that they wanted make the Mayhems/Safeguards available for Flashback, but there are technical reasons why they can't.
I'm sure there's probably some greater reason why this wouldn't work and I'm definitely not suggesting "just code it up, it's easy!", but I really do wonder why it's not that easy. -
Quote:Some of them are ostracized, Spider-Man being the biggest example. Most of the others aren't ostracized because the general public knows they're not mutants but rather got their powers in some sort of accident. (Which is part of why the public fears Spider-Man, because most people think he is a mutant. That, and JJJ's decades-long smear campaign.) That's the difference. The point of X-Men is that h0m0 (seriously, forum software??) sapiens feels threatened by the rise of h0m0 superior, not just because they're different. The problem, I'd say, is that the racism analogy doesn't work well when you have a bunch of other superheroes running around who aren't ostracized for having powers/being different. Of course, I'd be perfectly happy with dropping that aspect of the X-Men.
And on the flip side, you have the Civil war storyline, where the entire point was a movement that desired the registration of not just mutants but all super-powered beings, which is as logical an extension of anti-mutant paranoia as you're gonna get. -
I like the chance for hold on iTrials because, especially when you haven't gotten all 3 level shifts yet, minions may very well survive the initial salvo, but those that do will probably be held. Also, the hold uses the graphics for Tesla Cage, which fits my Elec^3 Blaster perfectly.

Because an older person was raised in a time when cursing was considered a lot more rude than it is today, so they're more likely to find it offensive. It's not ageist unless you suggest that an arbitrary old person who has not expressed their opinion on cursing would be offended, because you're drawing a conclusion based on their age. In this case, we already know that the older woman in the article was offended, so it's not unreasonable to assume that her age is the reason why. And this really only applies to the current generation of old people, it wouldn't be applicable 20, 30, 40 years down the line. So, not ageist. Generationist if anything, but again, not even that in this case since we already know what the woman believes. Nice try though, A for effort.
re: monkeyslap's hilarious backpedaling: lol -
Because they're no longer in German/French. People who speak those languages may still congregate on those servers, but all game text is English.

80,000 floppy disks.

Quote:That's some awesome sexist anecdotal "evidence" there. You don't suppose that maybe had more to do with her age than it did her gender, do you?In my observations it's usually a woman that gets so upset about something so trivial. (no offense but it's true
).
Example: There is a news article today on several news websites about the town Middleborough in Massachusetts. A 63 year old woman "hanging baskets of pink geraniums on antique street lamps downtown for the Middleborough Beautification and Activities Group when she noticed something else that needed cleaning up -- citizens' mouths."
She overheard a couple of "young" people shouting a bad word back and forth. Now the city is "asking citizens to vote at the annual Town Meeting on Monday (today) to flush potty mouths by granting police the power to issue $20 civil tickets to anyone who publicly "accosts" another person verbally with profanity."
As you can see.......all it takes is for 1 person to be offended over nothing.
Note: If you don't believe me about this news story, do a Google search for "middleborough mass fine for cursing in public". -

I seem to recall a dev acknowledging that the badge name for Master of Miss Liberty's TF wasn't correct and would be fixed in a later patch.
-
I had to do a really difficult project in school once so seeing your handle all over the forum offends me. I demand recompense!!

Because the entire point of removing Statesman from the game was to remove him from the game.

Quote:The truth about Calvin Scott was revealed a couple issues ago in the Underground Trial. From the writer's perspective, it happens before the events in First Ward. But from your character's perspective, it hasn't happened yet.2) It is too tailored to Praetorian characters. This is the lesser offense, but... How in the world did my character know Calvin Scott escaped from the Asylum? Not an hour earlier I was beating up Goldbrickers and stepped through a portal. Mr. Writer Person was really sucking it up that day. We'll see if Night Ward makes more sense.
TL;DR sloppy writing and a somewhat ill-conceived notion of enforcing a chronological storyline on a game where each character experiences the story separately -
Quote:This. My Bots/Dark had been shelved until I respecced him quite recently, then ran him through Dark Astoria and the other mission arc badge content he was missing. Didn't get that bug once.I thought it had come back a bit oddly a few days ago, since my mid-level Mercs wouldn't go away... turns out it was a bad load of the mercs bind file. Other than that... no, I can't think of a recent time I've had them get stuck.
Of course, now that I've said that, it'll hit me nonstop from here on out. I still have days where I expect that infernal chat buffer bug to strike from nowhere. -
Quote:Guess I'm the old folk with a bad memory. And I'm not even 30!They have indeed been Tier 9 since they were added to the Paragon Rewards system.
But they've only been Tier 9 VIP since i23 went live. Before that they were in the regular, non-VIP tier with all the other repeatables.
16 months to go though... -
Huh? The consumable Super Pack rewards were always Tier 9 VIP.
AFAIK... -
There used to be a problem where the text for "Cutscene Captions' in the channel list was not visible but I believe that was fixed a while ago.

Any sufficiently advanced language is indistinguishable from a typo.

Quote:Positron and War Witch, yeah. I'm not saying it's a brand new crowd, but the game is definitely not moving forward with the same vision that it had when, say, I first joined the game in Issue 4/5. If it were, I can't imagine I would have stayed with it for so long. The game was honestly a little dull before Issue 6/7/8 came along (never mind City of Villains), so in that respect it has clearly improved substantially. The fact is that we've gotten a lot of stuff that we've asked for over the years (power customization, player-created content such as it is, multitudes of power sets, the ability to redo previously-played content, tons of costume sets....).I'm not naming names, but the 2 biggest head honchos of Paragon Studios were there since practically the beginning at Cryptic.
and even since they moved form Cryptic, the game has not gotten clearly better.
Sure, we have "more", but that "more" just breaks the old stuff and never performs quite right itself.
And yeah, I'm cooling down. I'm not sniping so much and being more apologetic.
I still am very unhappy at being cut off even from my global friends in game though right now.
You really can't blame them too much for new stuff breaking old stuff. I know it sounds like a pass but it's really true. The legacy game code is a tangled spaghetti mess of undocumented code produced mostly by people who moved on years ago, it's gonna be near impossible to introduce new code into that without creating all sorts of weird errors (which is going to happen under the best conditions anyway).
There are certainly criticisms that can be made though regarding the dev team's propensity for pushing patches/Issues to Live despite the fact that there are known game-breaking bugs present (the philosophy of it being better to push out a product that doesn't work right for some people and fix it later, versus delaying it for everybody). But it's still not black and white, and you'll be a lot happier once you realize that. -
The devs could do everything right for an arbitrary person and that person would still complain because they no longer have anything to complain about.
-
Quote:The following devs are no longer with the game (too lazy to get real names for the ones I don't know):Not really. The devs are still mostly the same small team, especially those making the decisions. They are the same ones that came all the way over from Cryptic.
Statesman/Jack Emmert
Back Alley Brawler
Castle
Lord Recluse (both of them)
Sexy Jay
Just to name a few of the big names. Probably also a bunch of these folks went with Cryptic to "the competition".
You seem to be very unhappy with the game lately. Perhaps it's time for you to take a break instead of sniping at other forumites and actively driving new players away from the game. -
Quote:Yeah, good luck with that. The game still has typos/spelling errors outstanding after 8 years.I looked back a few pages and couldn't find anything in this vein and thought it would be nice if we could note any textual issues we find here, either misspellings, grammatical issues or fact errors related to the changes made after the deaths of Statesman and Sister Psyche.
