  1. I've got a better idea, how about you stop telling people how to play the game?

On some of my toons I just haven't gotten around to it. And yes, I am going to tell you that I can't figure out which 3 powers to pick. With no extra slots to spend on them, there's not much of interest. For my Elec/Elec Blaster, for instance, there's not much that's very interesting from his primary or secondary. I guess he could pick up Zapp for pulls, or Voltaic Sentinel for kicks. But nothing that matters enough for me to respec immediately. My Inv/SS Tanker is another matter. Inherent Fitness allowed him to take Resist Elements and Resist Energies, along with Laser Beam Eyes because I didn't have anything else I wanted to take and it's a cool power.

Seriously, lighten up. There's a whole world of difference between not taking Dull Pain on your Invuln Tanker and not respeccing from Legacy Fitness into Inherent Fitness.

In effect it's almost like you are asking to have the "no death" requirement from the original "Master of" badges removed because you can't manage to not die during a Master run. The badge isn't the problem - your ability to do what needs to be done to get it is.

I sympathize with your position, but the Devs are unlikely to change a badge requirement just because some people can't play more than 1 or 2 TF/SFs a week.
    1. "Not having time to grind TFs" != "not having the ability to not die on a TF". These are completely different requirements and not analogous in the slightest except via strawman.

    2. It would still BE an assistance badge because you're not getting any other reward for it. I don't know how I can make this any clearer.

    3. Many grindy badge requirements have already been reduced so it's not like there's no precedence for this. Your argument is the same as "well it's too bad you don't have the time to hunt down 10,000 Rikti monkeys or craft 10,000 recipes, guess you can't have those badges".

    NPC costumes

There's nothing stopping anyone from creating a costume that looks exactly like these NPCs, all the costume parts are available to players.
  4. This thread has everything! ...all wrong.

The entire point of the Incarnate system is to make our characters more powerful. The entire point of the Incarnate system is to break our characters compared to pre-Incarnate content. However, not all level shifts will work in non-Incarnate content, and I suspect that some or all of the last 5 Incarnate slots won't work at all outside of Incarnate content (although this vastly depends on what they actually do). Hey, speaking of which...

I do see the problem here. You're making a horribly inaccurate assumption then accusing others of making the exact same assumption but drawing a different conclusion. As others have already said, only the first Incarnate slot is a global enhancement. So what are the other Incarnate slots? All you need to do is check the wiki:

    Quote:
    1. Judgment: Will grant characters new upgradeable multi-target attack powers, which can take the form of a Fire Targeted AoE, Cold Cone, Energy Chain, or a Negative Energy PBAoE. Judgment is not affected by buffs or set bonuses but is affected by Alpha and Interface Slot modifiers, except for the Spiritual Boost Recharge Reduction[1]. Recharges in 90-120 seconds.
    2. Interface: Will provide the player with a Permanent Proc effect, that will affect enemies with each hostile attack. Base percentages of Procs firing is variable depending on choice chosen, with some allowing two procs going off at the same time. Pet powers including the Lore pet will also trigger Interface procs.
    3. Lore: Will be a Very Long Recharge power that allows the user to summon a Praetorian Clockwork, Warwork, Seer, or IDF Trooper pet.
    4. Destiny: Will be a Very Long Recharge power that allows the user to buff a large amount of team mates for 120 Seconds. Tier 4 powers allow for increasing of Resistances to 90% etc.
None of which affect slotting of powers. Two of them offer a level shift, but that shift only works in the Incarnate Trials being introduced next issue and beyond. So you're completely wrong on this front too.
  5. It's not about saving myself runs, it's about being able to accumulate runs toward the badge at all. I think I only have 1-2 badge credits on both of my badgers for the Backup badge. It's a pretty ridiculously grindy badge, and I barely have time to play as it is.

As far as converting goes, the conversion rate of Shards to Threads is a joke. I don't see Notices helping with that much.
  6. The badges are for helping a team complete the WST when you yourself do not receive the reward. If you are given the choice to forgo the WST reward for the week, it's the same thing.

I just don't see the need to continue grinding through the WST on a character if I don't need the Notices. As it is I probably won't bother with the WST on my VR Alpha-slotted characters anymore, at least this would get me and other badgers playing them again.
  7. ...instead of getting the XP bonus and Notice. So your reward table looks like this:

    • Standard reward choices for the TF/SF, if any.
And a separate section of the table (which would not be present after the first run, since beyond that you get credit anyway):
    • XP bonus and double merits (and Notice if you're an Incarnate)
    • Badge credit for Assistant/Backup/Partner
It won't trivialize the badges since it's only an extra credit per week, and if you're on a character that doesn't need any more Notices it's not too big a sacrifice.

Hate to burst your bubble but that's the Temporary Jetpack Booster.

    NEW Mid's Update

You're probably better off asking for help on the Titan Network forums, especially since this thread will probably be locked for necromancy.

I just wanted to add, since the person I was responding to has been gone for 8 issues, an explanation for why the devs dropped the City Vault -- it was resource-intensive and brought the servers (their internal testing servers) to a crawl. It wasn't a matter of giving up on it like some other areas of the game (*coughpvpandbasescough*), or setting it on permanent hiatus because the community did it themselves, it just wasn't technically feasible.

Gonna be totally honest here, I think Twitter is dumb and all, but I would totally follow this account.

  16. ProTip: Do not use the CoH wiki hosted at Wikia, it has a history of malware. Always use http://www.paragonwiki.com or http://wiki.cohtitan.com.
  17. Bots/Dark synergy:
    • Assault Bot's Plasma Blasts do -Regen, which stacks very nicely with the -Regen from Twilight Grasp and Howling Twilight for soloing AVs and GMs (GMs are honestly kind of a joke as long as you can keep the damage up on them, though this can be made difficult if they do a lot of running around on varied terrain and across buildings, Jurassik )
    • -ToHit stacks with the Defense from your Protector Bot's Force Field bubbles, and you've got several good sources of it (Darkest Night, Fearsome Stare, Twilight Grasp; also see point after this)
    • Shadow Fall also has some Defense to stack with the ProtBot's bubbles
    • Dark Servant is a 7th pet, with extra -ToHit and control effects which complement some of your other Dark Miasma powers
    • This is somewhat less specific for Bots, but since they're attacking at range (*coughideallycouch*), you can keep them by your side for handy healing via Twilight Grasp, which can often bring all 6 of them back from the brink of defeat (and it's getting a radius buff next issue!).
As far as teaming goes, Howling Twilight is a terrific power on teams, especially for those unfortunate circumstances when you have a semi-team wipe (it obviously won't help for a full team wipe as you are too dead to use it). Did your Tank and two Scrappers just faceplant in front of Battle Maiden? Jump in there really quick, hit HT, and tada! Living meleers. (Okay, that was a bad example, the blue patches would probably re-kill them before they could fully get back on their feet. Not Howling Twilight's fault!)

With the right set bonuses, Bots/Dark should allow for Tankerminding, although I confess I haven't experimented with this too much beyond soloing an AV or two, along with a small handful of GMs. (So far: Babbage, Adamastor, Kraken, Paladin. As I alluded to before, Jurassik was problematic due to the architecture of Crey's Folly; I had him down to half HP before things went south. I also once tried the Ghost of Scrapyard but with all the debuffs he's gonna run around a lot and probably get droned. I am not stupid enough to try Caleb, and Lusca was a disaster.)
  18. Layout seems really busy and messy, and personally I have no use for social networking so those features would be a complete waste to me. I'm getting sick of seeing every single website with a billion "add this website to your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr/Reddit/ShoutNET/VerbIfy* account!" links on it.

*Yes I made those last two up.
  19. The cap is 500% for Scrappers (+400% on top of the base 100%), but otherwise yes.
  20. Roll another character. Mission accomplished.

Unless you don't want the buff, in which case just ignore the pop-up and it goes away on its own. (This is what I understand the complaint to be. If you're complaining about having to accept when you want the buff, well, that's another thing entirely.)

Look, I agree that drive-by buffing is a silly and frankly weird practice, but I really think people are getting their underthings in a bunch over nothing here.
  23. I don't really understand how anyone can complain about being buffed by Mystical Fortune when you have to accept the buff yourself.
  24. No, the enemy will always have a chance to hit you (and you will always have a chance to hit the enemy).

I don't think Praetoria is being given a lot of choice in the matter, DJ Zero is the one who makes the Pocket D crossovers possible.
