A lot of this seems to be Moffat's way to undo some of the lore that RTD had added to the Whoverse. So I wonder how Moffat's successor will try to undo *this*.
    Not his "death".

His apparent death. Big distinction there. Had it been his real death, the universe still would've went kaflooey when the robot got whacked.

At the end of the day, the Universe has a sense of humor. This is just another example of that.

Isn't this universe the one he rebooted? Wouldn't he essentially be "God" in such a case? Meaning, what is God's name.
  3. Karen Gillan would be an absolutely perfect live-action Molotov *ahem*tease, what with the eyepatch.
  4. Reveal on the Cheshire/Artemis relationship. Superboy exploring M'gann's tonsils. Wally being clueless. And we get to see Babs going to school with Dick. Good episode.
  5. She's their "Out" for if/when the reboot sputters out. Basically, the next big event.

God the idea of it just makes my stomach turn.
But we also got to see nervous-girl-with-a-crush stereotype as well. Nevermind that she's 15 or so (or at least younger than Wangst) and the guy has to be about 23ish.

In reality, the whole Terra Nova project will turn out to be the 2149 equivalent of Survivor. Only with real surviving. Not plopping yuppies outside of the house of someone who has lived there for their entire life and telling 'em to wing it.

I think I saw a continuity error in the show as well. When they are in the line for the portal, there's a point where they tell 'em to drop off their air filters. We see Wangst drop his off, but a little bit later, he's walking in the line with it around his neck. A little bit later, it's not there.
  7. I think I'm also going to have to go with the, "They aren't in a parallel universe" theory as well. Expecting a probe to last for 85 million years is not really that feasible an idea. Pretty doubtful that anything Man can make would last a million years, let alone 85 million.

That son really irked me. Played right into the stereotype of losing his damn mind if a pretty girl even bats her eyes in his direction. Of course, that does happen in RL. He reinforces the idea that all guys should be locked into a barrel at age 13 and not allowed out till they are 30.
  8. The first Mortal Kombat movie was a guilty pleasure. Much like the Dead or Alive movie.

Also when they set up a roast they sit down with the target and ask them what topics are out of bounds so they can inform the roasters of what NOT to do. Shatner's wig and the loss of his wife Nerine were taboo to the roasters. However Shatner rode out on a horse onto the stage and he is an equestrian as I recall. Takei's comment about Shatner and the horse he rode in on, according to some comments after the roast with the producers, didn't sit to well with Shatner supposedly.

    Who knows?
You would think that if they were really feuding and such, that Takei wouldn't have been there. I can't see them inviting him if he and Shatner were not, at the very least, on speaking terms with each other. But that's just my opinion. *shrug*

Wasn't Takei on the roast of Shatner that was on Comedy Central? I mean, ya, it's a roast and all.

I think that they're less worried about a butterfly effect and more worried about rotting animal corpses attracting even less pleasant animals (plus, you don't have to clean up dead stuff this way). Also, Taylor's desk-support was a huge carnivorous dinosaur skull, so at least one animal has been killed.
Not necessarily. It could've been a found skull, meaning one that was either killed due to natural causes or killed by other animals.

You've obviously never been to CHVC, if you think merging it into Forum Games is anywhere near a good idea. It's a distinct community that would have zero benefit from that. Merging with FG would (probably) be the final nail in the coffin for those of us left.

Now, can we just out-and-out dispense with the fiction that other games don't exist? That stupid rule change last year lost us a LOT of people from CHVC. The forum is a shadow of its former self.

I can understand the, "Hey, <x> game does <y>! COH needs to do <x> as well!", not being around, but was the Gamertag exchange thread all that disruptive? We existed for quite a while with being able to talk about other games, with a thriving community in there, but once that rule change went into effect, the number of distinct posters went down quite a bit.

Or he may have just gotten a concussion from the initial transfer.
I refer you to the Flash. He can read and temporarily store any info he requires (like how to build an entire apartment building), but long term storage is not happenin'.

In "The Next Doctor", the Cybermen of that episode knew all the previous faces, but not #10. They had to be shown.
They said something about binary circulatory systems and being unsuitable for conversion. Since Time Lords are known to have two hearts, they could make the logical leap and think, "Oy crickey, this chap's a Time Lord! *monocle*".

Besides, if there's someone mucking around who knows a bit more than he should, it's a pretty safe bet that the Doctor is having a bit of fun.
  15. Peter is trapped in the membrane between universes. You know how when you look into a mirror, it seems like there's a whole 'nother universe there? That's where he be.

Shame that Sheppard barely had any screen time. He coulda been a good addition.

I have a level of sympathy for Walter that I don't think I've had for any other character on a show. There's something about a broken mind that is just so...sad. It really bothers me, since I know that it could happen to anyone, including myself.

Close, but not quite though the name sounds familiar. It's in my boxes of books ATM, so looking for it would be difficult. This book was quite explicit that they would only allow hunts before major extinction events and not just at any time. It didn't end with intelligent lizards or anything like that.

If they did that, they wouldn't have been able to go back in time in the first place. The extinction event that killed off the dinos is what gave mammals a chance at the big leagues.

Keep in mind, 20 million years is about 100x (or so) longer than humanity has been H. sapiens. Plenty of time to develop a spacefaring civilization and spread off this rock before the EE. And given the extensive timeframe before humanity came into being, it would allow the works of Man to erode and decay away, thus not affecting future paleontologists/anthropologists/archaeologists/etc.

There was a book that I read, can't remember the name of it though, that took people on hunting expeditions to around the time of major extinction events. The premise was that people could hunt whatever dinos they wanted, as they were going to be extinctified anyway. No real alteration to the timeline.
  18. Ya, that took care of it. Funny how a single word can change the meaning of an entire sentence.
  19. Samothrake, are you missing a word in one of your sentences there?

What I find hilarious about the Supergirl redesign is that they wanted to get rid of, in the words of Empowered, the "flouncy skirt", because of the bikini bottoms issue, but then they go and put her in a leotard with a giant heart over her lady bits.

It would be nice if the free version of Hulu would actually play for me. The ads play absolutely fine, but the actual shows I want to watch? They don't play, just a constant "We couldn't load it. Please press reload.", which also reloads the commercials.

Wait, you have to pay for a sub plus have to watch commercials? Isn't that called cable?

Granted, I haven't watched it on there, I just saw that it was available. I might avail myself of some of the shows on there. Maybe I should haul this monster of a comp out and hook it up to my tv at some point. It does have an HDMI output port on the vid card after all...
  22. Apparently, the series is available on Hulu. I haven't checked that site out in quite a while. Went there tonight and I was shocked, shocked! I say, to see how many anime series they have available.
  23. Well thank you very much for the assistance. And to everyone else in the thread as well.

This is one of those things that I really wish I had gotten a handle on last year or so. I had the first five or so discs for a long time and never got around to buying the rest. Been on a spree since I saw that they were going OOP. And now I'm paying the price for my laziness.

Volume 45 appears to be stock. No-go on the others.
I can see a typo in their website. Home->Domestic Anime DVDs->Satrt with U. Lots of typos combined with some odd phrasing on their Help page as well.

That one doesn't seem to engender confidence.
