  4. Macskill made an ar/dev guide, thereby encouraging new players to play a horrible combo, and also indicating that there is anything worth knowing about AR or Dev. (There is not.)

    It's a good reason to not believe anything statesman says. It's unfortunate he's involved w/ champions online, but it may be possible that the game will turn out good DESPITE him.

    How were you lied to, exactly? The team was 60 (or so) strong when they were developing CoV, and we don't know how the work was split then. Shortly after CoV launched, the team was gutted to the skeleton crew of 15. It sounds like anyone who was moved off the project to work on something else in Cryptic was replaced with someone else. They maintained the 15 strong team until the NCNC buyout.

    Whether there were actual lies or not, I can't say. But we were led to believe that a much larger team was working on the game. Seeing how much the team was cut down (and we don't know if it was at NCSoft's direction or Cryptic's decision), I'm amazed at all that has been accomplished.

    i have toons on freedom, its like justice but with less wait finding people to fight. if the devs gave out free server transfers i'd probably move over though honestly, simply to get more decent matches in.

    its funny how people put down other servers like its not the same game. hopefully the new owners come up with a way to do live cross server pvp before the game dies.

    I agree w/ supermax here. Tend to see better pvpers in the zones on Freedom. I wouldn't say that it = the NBA though.
  12. Let me tell you, the levels of mobs and trying to team in TR is retarded. You outlevel some content, and then there are huge gaps where you have no content, because you leveled too damn fast, and didn't squeeze enough missions in.

    This is before I even get to broken powers/classes/missions/instances, etc. I'll check it out again in a few months.. but seriously, that's all unneccessary Bullsht that doesn't need to be in a game anymore.

    On the Age of Conan forums, I remember people would constantly complain about something being in or not in the game, and others saying that it's impossible to make an MMO any other way. I would often think, what the heck are they talking about? COH already solved this problem a long time ago.

    It's piss poor to see new MMO's come out that haven't learned the lessons that this game was built on.

    PS: If you are street sweeping too much in TR, check out motor assist tier 4. Once I started using that, I was leveling about 2x as fast, due to saved travel time, and not having to engage mobs pointlessly.

    1st of all thats a lie, ive beaten two spines/regen scrapper on infinity in rv, lay caltrops after web nading them keeps em at bay not to mention using blinding powder to lower their perception, but maybe its harder because you are a spines/dark

    If caltrops and webnade stopped a spines/regen, then all i can say is that he was built like a noob, and stalkers are great at destroying noobs... but that's not the point of any of this.

    Your opponent must also be pretty incompetent. Of coarse, in open zones, there are all kinds of opportunities for stalkers to work with other villains to finish stuff.. but that's not the point =p.

I tried pvp, but I personally find it annoying in the idea that in coX you find out that there are only so many powersets and setups that are really at all good for pvp. I have experimented with all sorts of at's and powersets, and well, lets just say only some of those excel at pvp, and the rest are mostly pve. And some of the pvp excelling powersets also excel at pve... so the game is way more balanced for pve, as it has been since the arena opened. If it gets a little more balanced, I might just join in on all this pvp fun, but until then... I"m pve all the way.

    Don't confuse a low popualation in a PVP zone for anything other than those folks are grinding up there next PVP toon. We have to lvl too. Further many PVP minded folks play on several servers and go from server to server PVP zone to PVP zone to find the fight that intrests them most.

    Yep, been spending most of the last week and a half working on a pvp toon. I actually enjoy pve too - so keep in mind that pve takes WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY longer than pvp. I can pop in to pvp, kill everyone in the zone, and feel done. I don't feel done in pve till the character is all set up with the best enhancements, accolades, and is lvl 50. Also, I don't like to pvp too much until that lvl 50 is made.

    And thank you for that. The design descisions which stemmed from that is what made this the first mmo that stuck for me.
  20. None of what you say matters, because the zones, which pve'ers never go into are dead.

    On the other hand, they can't get thier badges or run thier missions, because every time they pop into a pvp zone, there is someone chasing them down within 5 seconds of thier timer expiring.

    Also, pvp is not part of keeping this game in business, because it just frustrates pve'ers who never enter the zones anyway. They then leave the game because of the existence of zones which they never enter, and that are never used "dead", but which contain badges that they cannot get because in fact they are not dead.

    As best as I can tell, I think this will happen too. The economy is going to be getting flooded with influence, yet no one is going to be selling. I think the devs are going to need to stock wentworths with some rares as an influence sink.

    I hate to disappoint Stalkers out there, but Sting of the Manticore can only be slotted into Sniper powers, not Assassin Strikes. I don't know where that rumor started.

    Shouldn't there be an IO set for AS? People are slotting it fairly similar to snipes (when they get ho's and open up slots). Using mele IO's for AS ignores the need for interrupt redux in this interruptable power (i believe).

    AS is pretty much a mele snipe (good oxymoron?).
  24. But Rizac, there are people who could play pinball for hours on a quarter, therefore pinball companies raised the cost to 20$ per play... oh wait no they didn't.

    Obviously some TF's are going to have to have thier reward adjusted. I've done TF's in 15 minutes. This should likely be determined by data mining. If im the only one on my server doing tf's in 15 minutes, then it's probably not neccessary to do anything. If 10% of the population are farming stuff in that way, then something needs to change.
  25. If the RSF isn't hard enough for you, go do some team pvp on test.

    PvE is meant for everyone, not just the elite. The RSF should have roughly the same level of effort as hami. Considering that people put thier stuff on auto for hami, and go afk, or brawl him and go afk, the RSF shouldnt be any harder or time consuming.
