I may be wrong here, but even if you delete the player characters, they have "copies" themselves... That's how they can reinstate accidental deletions.. or at least could in the past.

3. Well Hell.. I just came across this from a friends Facebook page:

http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...biggest-holder

"Nexon Co. (3659), a Tokyo-based maker of online games, bought a 804.5 billion won ($685 million) stake in NCSoft Corp. (036570) to become the South Korean company’s biggest shareholder. Nexon purchased 3.2 million NCSoft shares, a 14.7 percent stake, from NCSoft Chairman Kim Taek-Jin for 250,000 won apiece, it said in a statement today. That’s 6.7 percent less than today’s closing price in Seoul for NCSoft, which offers online games including Lineage and Aion.
Nexon sees “a lot of opportunities” for acquisitions in Asia, North America, and Europe, Chief Financial Officer Owen Mahoney said last month. The Tokyo-based company is interested in investing in companies that develop games for Facebook Inc. and mobile-phone users, he said at the time.
NCSoft, based in Seoul, rose 0.4 percent to 268,000 won in trading on the city’s stock exchange today before the announcement. Nexon fell 0.2 percent to 1,319 yen on the Tokyo stock exchange today.

Guess that goes to answer some of the "why" ...

$685m? Is that a ballpark estimate of what they'd likely want for the IP??
4. I'm disabled, and living on very finite funds, so financial contribution really isn't an option for me, but I'd like to at least voice my support for what you are trying to do.

I'm vaguely aware of the "Fat-Cat" mentality that "we" are all up against in trying to keep City alive.. but I wonder how possible it would be if you aren't successful in get the server/coding from NC, if you were to still take donations for the Kickstarter... How difficult would it be to use those funds to start development of a CoH2?

I know game development usually runs in the millions, and I doubt that even with the multiple posts here of pledging a couple of thousand dollars that we'd get anywhere close to that kind of money... But I guess I'm grasping at straws.

I have the 'lofty idea' that with the knowledge that Titan, and others, have been able to gather.. and the possibility of having developers that could do it... that maybe even if we can't save City of Heroes... that maybe there could be a CoH2.

Ugh

I just feel gutted over this...

States it's down.. but it's the only one.

If you don't get a response in this thread, try a post in the Technical Issues and Bugs sub-forum. Lots of tech-heads there who will be glad to help. Read the sticky about asking for help and include CoHHelper and HijackThis logs in that post.

Thanks for the reply.. and yeah, with the reformat I have the newest drivers available.

I posted a thread, here that has a CohHelper file included. I'm running 64-bit, and from what I understand, HijackThis doesn't work accurately on that... could be wrong there tho.

Anyway... Hopefully someone will have some insight... and again, thanks for the reply.
11. Hey guys/gals...

I just had to reformat my comp today, and after getting my system set up again, and City reinstalled... I logged in realizing I forgot to export and save my graphics settings.

DOH!

So.. I've been trying to set it up like I had it before, and am having some very unsatisfactory results. I'm used to running on ultra mode, and having pretty kick *** graphics.. but in setting up with just about Max everything, I get some odd graphics with the Tarot cards power.

Example:

Now.. I'm sure I'm just overlooking something in the settings somewhere, but would anyone by any chance know what setting would affect the graphic that way? I can tinker with it once I know which slider it is that I need to tweak..

Now, my system is the same, just reformatted and reinstalled. Still have my vid card and memory I've been playing with for the last year, and it's never looked like that before. I was able to see real graphics before.

Help?

Thanks in advance.

Say what? This is the first I've read about this.. after doing a quick search came up with nada.. Just the retro pack. Didn't see anything about an alien pet..?

Do you happen to have a link to this?

On the other hand, releasing an issue right after your getting a second competitor-- and one that will pose a significantly greater threat simply from brand recognition alone-- that would cause player agitation wouldn't seem to make much sense to me either ...

I wonder if we're going to get all four powers as Inherent-- so that everyone will have both Swift and Hurdle from here on out ...
I keep seeing the term "Signed NDA" being questioned.. but haven't all of the NDA's prior to this been "digitally signed"? It seems to me that, that is exactly the case here.

I haven't been in a CoH Closed Beta requiring an NDA since CoV.. so my memory may be a little fuzzy there, but I would almost swear that the wording used then was equal to the player 'signing a non-disclosure agreement' by accepting their spot in the Beta.

16. I'd like to add to that suggestion that it could be sorted by name, or level... I tend to like to sort by my characters level rather than alphabetical.

Oh I know.. I've been around a looooong time. People have been requesting the ability to edit/alter their pets since CoV was in Beta...

I just sort of hope the MM customization issue is akin to the "power customization" that was once considered too time/resource intensive to prove feasible... :P

*If* they can eventually implement a system to edit pets.. they're gonna need suggestions.. (not that there aren't many already.. heh)

18. With the release of Going Rogue... and my absolute *drool fest* over the new Clockwork...

How about adding... eventually *crosses fingers* that we can someday substitute Praetorian Clocks for the Drones in the Drones MM powerset?

I've read about some of the difficulties in making the pets customizable.. but have hopes that using already created models might make it easier...

Here's hoping.

19. I do heartily agree with the addition of a tailor or face makers (not in the tut, as has been noted.. people like me.. 6 year vet.. skip..)

That said.. and without really wanting to thread-jack (but going to anyway ) ..

When are we going to get a contact in Praetoria that can unlock a second costume slot??

Almost the very first thing I do either blue or red side is to grab my costume salvage and make my way to unlock my second slot...

As it is now.. there is NO way to do this yellow side...

I could be mistaken.. but I think it might have something to do with your video card.. I think you may need a better one for the game. System Requirements:

Recommended – nVidia GeForce 6600 / ATI Radeon x1300

- alternate animations to all eye-beam powers. I have a thing about my eyes, and I absolutely can't take any of the eye-beam powers. They totally squick me out.

- adding elemental swords for all (or more) powers in each set that has access to an elemental sword, and possibly sets that are elemental and don't have swords. I keep making /ice doms just because I love ice sword circle so much. I started the game as an ice blaster and watched jealously as a friend used her fire sword circle all the time. I wanted an ice sword circle so bad, and I glee every time I use it on a dom.

And something that has probably been mentioned but I don't have time to read the rest of the thread:

- alternate animations for any of the "using a keypad on my arm" powers, such as summoning and upgrading bots. Also alternates for any tech based animations (medi pool comes to mind) so that they can be more believably used by non-techy toons. (Not all of my bots MMs are actually techy, and none of them wear gloves that support the "keypad on my arm" animation as believable.)
I don't have any unique suggestion for alternate animations for the powers we already have.. I am in agreement with the suggestions that have been made here already...

• Breath Attacks
• Teleport
• Medicine Pool (an absolute must)
The eye-beam issue is one that I recognize as well... but just for added thought.. why the hell do you "miss" eye beam attacks? I mean.. really... you are LOOKING right at the target... never have understood that.

Pardon me for pointing it out.. but are you not, now, turing into the very "forum police" you are berating the posters here for?

I thought his post was rather humerous, and had the sense of the whole.. "the one rule about fight club is that you don't discuss fight club..."

You think you might be overreacting just a tad to be all up in arms over such a small thing?

The response was not rude or threatening... didn't tell the guy off (which in my several years reading posts here happens all too often)
so, I'd say.. if Ocho hasn't said anything along the lines of.. "Hey, BACK OFF.. this is MY job... " I figure, no harm, no foul. But hey... that may just be me.

This does work, thank you so much for figuring that out!!

For those that have difficulty with the keybinds.. this is what I use... maybe it'll help someone else:

Costume Change Keybinds

Format:
/bind <key> "emote none$$cce <Slot (0-4)> ccEmote"

For example, I use my numberpad for costume emotes:

/bind numpad1 "emote none$$cce 0 ccEvilLaugh"
/bind numpad2 "emote none$$cce 1 ccPodPerson"
/bind numpad3 "emote none$$cce 2 ccDimensionShift"
/bind numpad4 "emote none$$cce 3 ccSmokeBomb"
/bind numpad5 "emote none$$cce 4 ccLightning"

The emote none$$ portion makes sure you are out of any current animation before starting the change emote.

Current CCE's

Salute
EvilLaugh
Howl
BackFlip

25. Heya BABs...

The costume change emotes are something many of us have been waiting for, for *years* .. so.. thanks to you, and the entire team responsible for them... But, where would be an appropriate place to make requests for new ones? <eg>

Mainly... I'd love to see some elemental changes.. we have electricity with the lightning, but what about fire changes? Ice?

We have powers reflecting Fire, Ice, Earth, Electricity... etc... Are we going to get emotes that will reflect specific power sets? Please?

Peace
