  1. SR offers Brutes a lot Scrappers don't get: a far better power ordering (Scrappers have to wait until late-midgame for any AOE protection at all), a Taunt Aura, and Brutes' higher Health means the Scaling Resistances of SR work better for the Brute than for the Scrapper. SR is better on Brutes hands down. If Tankers ever get SR, I may die of joy.

Kinetic Melee...I hear that does work better on Scrappers, but if you prefer playing Brutes, I think Brute KM will still be very competitive.

Devouring Earth, especially the Praetorian variety, can catch a new SR player off guard. The key is to simply pull them away from their Quartzes, and kill the Guardians first. If the Guardian starts to put another Quartz down, RUN and get them away from it again (trying to stay and kill the Quartz will often get you killed instead). I play my SR Scrapper on +0x7 vs Devouring Earth and this strategy makes that possible (you can also just lower the difficulty if you want to steam roll, but I enjoy a challenge).

P.S. Nemesis are no trouble at all, just make sure to get rid of Bosses, then Minions, then Lts.

    Nurses

That is not a modern nursing outfit. I don't think nurses have worn anything like that since the '50s. Well, it's modern compared to Cimerora's level of antiquity I suppose.
  3. All Grav really needs is to get Wormhole much earlier (by level 12 or so). I would also like to see Grav be the one set that gets its pet early (say by level 22), because really, after Singy, Grav is one of the best control sets around. With Singy working for you, you spend way more time attacking than with any other control set. Currently the journey to Singy is a trying one. Very trying.
  4. The lolziest Dom builder of all is Tremor. It can be done...with lots of patience.

    The market has an answer.

They'd rather get 10 real dollars than 2 billion fake dollars for an emote.

P.S. The real reason for inflation in the game is not AE or any exploit or any amount of 50s getting played. It's a simple lack of sinks so mudflation, a problem nearly every MMO on the market has, drives prices up.
  7. IBTL:
Yeah, I've played DCUO as well and while it's better than CO (but really, what isn't?), and the graphics and environments are good and perform remarkably well, there are other console games that do the game play much better, and the character creator is laughable (I couldn't believe how bad it was-- your character is even pigeonholed into a specific origin/backstory).

SOE managed to screw up yet another strong IP. I get frustrated when I think that they got the rights to arguably the strongest comic IP of all time and this is what they did with it.

Here's hoping Marvel goes with a more PC less console approach (but I don't hold out much hope as every MMO developer and their brothers seem to be aiming for consoles these days).

Try it again now that inherent Fitness has loosened SR builds. There's no way, no how EA is superior to SR.

Ghost Widow's number is 666-1337. Oh, wait...
  10. So The Crucible is full of various villains lining up to (apparently) join Arachnos. Is that what they're doing, and if so, why? Are those villain groups just giving up and looking to join the dominant power in the Isles?
  11. My main is MA/SR Scrapper. Inherent Fitness allowed me to softcap with zero Positional Defense set bonuses. This makes me happy.

I take on +0x8 spawns very comfortably with my I19 build (I find Aid Self to be completely unnecessary; personal preference).

SR is well regarded these days, but MA continues to be the redheaded stepchild of Scrapper primaries. The multiple buffs it has received over the years has made it into an unbelievable set. I just noticed last night that CAK even has -Def now lol. I don't think you can slot an Achilles' Heel in there though, can you?

Recently I noticed I have over 1000 hours logged on him.
  12. I was giving the devs the benefit of the doubt in calling this a bug. Turns out it's a feature. An undocumented feature. Nice. And by "nice" I mean "not nice".

Might be time for that extended break I've been needing. I've got a lot to think about here.
  13. I said it back when the market destroyed your stuff and I'll say it again about the email system: an MMO should NEVER arbitrarily destroy the things you've earned!

You guys did the right thing and did away with the market deletion. Do the right thing again and get rid of this arbitrary and unnecessary "feature".

This is the same tired rhetoric that was trotted out in defense of the 60 day market deletion. The 60 day market deletion is history and guess what? The markets didn't implode. Imagine that. Neither will the email system.

Champions is subscription+micro, so that's irrelevant.

By getting rid of its subscription, DDO's revenues went up 500%. The market is deciding in favor of no sub+micro (f2p).
  15. Actually, it's perfectly logical to assume that if you are allowed to email attachments, those attachments will generally stay put and not randomly disappear. So using the system for storage is perfectly logical. However, the problem with logic is it can only account for the known. The "disappearing after 30 days" thing, most likely a bug, was a complete X factor.

So in using email for storage we were not using the system contrary to its design, but using it according to its design. Only a bug acted as an unknown variable and tripped us up, through no fault of our own.

We should probably change the name of I17 to Issue 17: Inf' Sink.

DDO and LOTRO. You're looking at the future of MMOs. And this MMO.

P.S. This game also needs it's own version of a $25 sparkle pony.

P.P.S. Oh, DCUO looks to be going with the F2P model as well. Like I said, the future is arriving.
  17. Take the 41 KB protection instead. Gaussian's Proc is a waste of a slot unless you're going for set bonuses.
  18. #1: Natural does not mean no super powers.

#2: If the power suit is integrated into your body, you're Tech. If you can take it off, and you made it, you're Tech. If you can take it off, and you didn't make it, you're Natural.

#3: There's wiggle room for various concepts. If you feel a certain Origin is most appropriate for your character, you're right.
  19. Three: introduction, complication, resolution. All else is self-indulgence.
  20. -- Are these emails that you sent to yourself?

Yes, all sent to my own global.

-- Are the emails 30 days old?

As I recall, yes. They were in there for quite a while.

-- Do you have a full mail box (20 pieces of mail)?

It was full or nearly so.

    Virtue crashed ?

Animated cat tails have taxed the servers past their ability to withstand that much ERP.

All the game's population problems go away when it goes free to play. And I did say "when".
