Quote:Aside from the fact a rare alpha conversion can't be done until I20, I'm a hardcore soloist. I can see myself doing Mortimer Kal on a regular basis on my Villains, though. I'll at least try the Incarnate trials when I20 launches*, but I want to go the conversion route instead on at least one of my characters because of the challenge, the feeling of doing it "on my own" and it'd just be a great achievement, too.Congrats! Just out of curiosity -- any particular reason you're waiting on I20 to do that?
I was actually unhappy when they lowered the inf requirements of the conversion path. I liked the reduction of Shard requirements, though.
*notice in the I20 boards how people are already looking to discriminate and keep various people/archetypes off their teams? That attitude is part of why I like to solo. -
I find myself using it pretty regularly to replenish my temporary powers and the like. Much handier than heading to the university in most zones. And the AE in Atlas is pretty close to Wentworth's making very convenient there.

And now for today's random roll!
ROLL THE NINETEENTH:
Scirocco's Dervish: Dam/Acc/End (Recipe). 450,005
Edict of the Master: Aura 5% Defense Buff for Pets (Recipe). 18,005
Devastation: Dam/Rech (Recipe). V10,000
Positron's Blast: Dam/Acc/End (Recipe). 6,300,905
Devastation: Acc/Dam/Rech (Recipe). 675,096
THIS ROLL: 7,454,011
NINETEEN ROLL TOTAL: 1,242,923,387
NINETEEN ROLL AVERAGE: 65,417,020
COMMENTARY: Time for another crap roll. Only a couple million off target though. The outstanding Edict won't bring in enough to make a difference.
P.S. Today I got enough Shards on my MA/SR to craft my rare Alpha when I20 launches, too.
EDIT: The outstanding Edict went for 18K. Numbers updated. -
And thank you for reading!
I'm not observant enough to notice something like that.
I do wonder where I'd be if I charged going-rate for recipes instead of 1. But the 1 inf policy amuses me and didn't keep me from a billion so I can't complain too much. If anyone was looking to "make a living" for their characters like this, they'd probably want to put recipes up for going-rate instead of 1 just to up the profits a bit, if not craft-and-sell. This experiment is a sort of "worst case scenario", so 1 inf for me.
Actually, I sell Purple recipes for 1 inf outside of this experiment all the time. Purples are pretty safe for that, though. Especially the "true Purples" (as opposed to the "semi-Purples" that go for under 100 million). -
This question is for those playing Villains. Now that APPs have been available for some time, do you find you still take Patron Power Pools, or do you more often than not take the Ancillary Power Pools instead and why?

...Jesse Slaughter? I triez to rollz meh Sonic/Pain Corruptor and itz takun! Fess up! Who dun went and took it?

Quote:Yeah, this is like the ultimate in lazy marketing, but your "Lazy Marketeer's Journal" is something everyone should read.
Technically my thread titled "Lazy Marketeer's Journal" is a complete lie. THIS is lazy marketeering in action. ^_^
And now for today's random roll!
ROLL THE EIGHTEENTH:
Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam/End (Recipe). V10,000
Aegis: End/Rech (Recipe). 456
Kinetic Combat: Dam/End/Rech (Recipe). 90,900,006
Touch of the Nictus: Chance for negative energy damage (Recipe). V10,000
Obliteration: Acc/Dam/Rech/End (Recipe). 64,800,005
THIS ROLL: 155,720,467
EIGHTEEN ROLL TOTAL: 1,235,469,376
EIGHTEEN ROLL AVERAGE: 68,637,188
COMMENTARY: And with another good roll we're already 25% of the way to the second billion. I was expecting a better price out of the Kinetic Combat, but I'll take what I got. -
I'll take anyone over Margot Kidder. Watching Superman on TV the other night, I was struck by just how unattractive she was. The hard-boiled reporter she had down pat. The romantic lead, not so much. She looked like someone's grandma.

And now for today's random roll!
ROLL THE SEVENTEENTH:
Mako's Bite: Acc/End/Rech (Recipe). 9,005
2 Touch of Death: Acc/Dam/End (Recipe). 383,410
Miracle: +Recovery (Recipe). 113,400,005
Obliteration: Chance for smashing damage (Recipe). 23,850,904
THIS ROLL: 137,643,324
SEVENTEEN ROLL TOTAL: 1,079,748,909
SEVENTEEN ROLL AVERAGE: 63,514,642
COMMENTARY: And we're officially over the 1 billion mark. Still about 5 million less per roll than target, but can't complain as this was a pretty good roll. -
In the Villain morality mission where you meet your future self, you aren't just a god, you're specifically the god. That's a brave bit of writing there and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
-
They just need to bite the bullet and make it detect teammates in the same way Defender Vigilance does. That way no matter where your teammates are, you'd get the bonus, and I don't believe that would be overpowered for Stalkers at all.

Quote:I've got very nearly a billion in half a month, so two billion in a month is very achievable. All just by random rolling and selling the recipes for 1 inf. And then you've got the income from actually running the missions, too. Three billion a month for all your inf from defeats, mission completes, drops and random AM rolls is not out of the question, and can almost be expected, it would seem. But certainly two billion at the very least. After three bad rolls, you're still making a fairly decent return, though. Even without buying A-merits, it's looking like around a billion is a perfectly plausible return for one character running tips for a month.
I've gotten to the point that I just roll my eyes at people who say they can't earn any inf in this game. If you can't earn any inf in this game you are actively avoiding it. -
It's true. Diminishing Returns is an utter failure because there's nothing fun about accumulating bonuses on your character only to have them completely stripped away for no good reason.

I don't consider it off topic because how much more profitable crafting is is one of the central themes of this thread. You can make x amount by selling the recipes and components, and you can make x+y amount by crafting and selling, but at the added expense of time, and probably researching the market. Whether one or the other is preferable is something each person has to decide for themselves, depending on what they enjoy, or hate the least.
And now for today's random roll!
ROLL THE SIXTEENTH:
Mako's Bite: Chance for lethal damage (Recipe). 4,506
Ghost Widow's Embrace: Acc/Hold/Rech (Recipe). V10,000
Touch of Death: Dam/End/Rech (Recipe). 450,905
Glimpse of the Abyss: Acc/Fear/Rech (Recipe). V10,000
Devastation: Acc/Dam/Rech (Recipe). 1,080,106
THIS ROLL: 1,555,517
SIXTEEN ROLL TOTAL: 942,105,585
SIXTEEN ROLL AVERAGE: 58,881,599
COMMENTARY: Another crap roll brings me 10 million below my target. Three bad rolls in a row. -
Just to clarify my earlier point, I think the "Holy Grail" PvP IOs are properly priced in AMs and if the other PvP IOs cost 30 AMs, but are available on the market for 100-300 million inf, I don't see a problem.
-
I do +0x1 until level ten when I add Bosses, then at level 20 I go to x2 and so on to a max of +0x4 at level 40. Once I get most of my IO sets in place at level 50 I go +0x5, and if I'm desperate for drops I go x8, though I find even though my characters can handle x8 quality of life can really degrade, especially against certain tough groups (anything Praetorian, really) so the lower settings of +0x4/5 can be a good compromise between having lots of enemies to fight and actually getting through a mission in a timely and non-frustrating manner.
-
This game gives you as much challenge as you want. Try +4x8 on a level 10 PUG.
One of the reasons I got bored with PvP was PvP is every bit as wrote as PvE. They're gonna Hiber, they're gonna phase, the tactics are all very known and laid out ahead of time, it might as well be an AI running them. -

Quote:Competitive zones would be a nice change of pace from co-op.Which would be a nice idea if they can make it like Recluse's Victory(without the pvp aspect)to make it witha mission and timer to revert back to its foggy state! It's prolly been suggested before, not sure. But It would be a nice change of pace and add more depth story wise and population.
