Went from about 96% to 99.something%. Some text corrections (changing five "Verse" to "Part", deleting one extra line break), so it's slightly smaller than it should be at 99.05%, but otherwise unchanged. -
Editing things (be it story arcs or custom critters) in the Mission Architect may make your cape or cape-like costume pieces (eg trenchcoat bottoms) disappear on your screen. They will still be visible on other people's screens.

*Changed the planet's name from Phobos to Pholos. Huge change, to be sure.

Styrjaxes still claim to be from Phobos in their descriptions. -

Mike remained at Cryptic. Got Dev confirmation on that.
He was an environmental artist for CoV, that's why his name is hidden on a plaque and there is a cartographer's shop called Mapolis.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also Arbiter Apolis in Grandville. Although I'm almost positive that's already been mentioned in this thread. -
The Lord of Frosts. From the Pacific theatre of WW2 in the CoH-verse.

In other words, a Dark Blast Corruptor. -

CoV stomps all over CoH in this respect.

Actually, I've noticed that in CoV, the first Kalinda mission is almost always on the other side of Mercy Island. I think, out of at least fifteen villains I've started with Kalinda as a starting contact, maybe two of them had the mission close to her.
I prefer lowbie CoH because I can start in Galaxy City and small spawns there are easier to find. In Mercy Island, I often have to avoid all those huge hazard-spawn-sized groups when street-hunting. -

Forgive me if I am missing something, even if this is wrong thread to post on but, What about IOP's. been waiting on that fix since base raids came out. like to see destructable base raids that was once talked about.

Technically yes, this is the wrong thread to post on this issue.
And your guess is as good as ours. -

I suppose that's the price for health-consciousness.
[/ QUOTE ]I take it you missed the strip malls lined with fast food places?
Isn't America the fattest country in the world...?
[/ QUOTE ]
Believe me when I say that your strip malls may be lined with fast food places, but the food from there is likely still healthier (less grease/salt) than the cheap-but-delicious food here. Besides, cheaper food means one can buy more of it.
As for the "fattest country" thing, I have no idea. -

Ten dolloars is a days worth of meals. not lunch money.
[/ QUOTE ]Where do you live and what do you eat. My high school lunches were $5... My university meal plan is certainly more than $10/meal, and we don't get dinner on Saturdays (And I often sleep through meals >.>
[/ QUOTE ]
For what it's worth, US$10 can be a day's worth of meals for me, assuming I eat at certain places only. The food won't be bad (although usually not very healthy), and sometimes can even be well-renowned, but invariably the actual place is loud, smoky, hot, and I may as well ask for takeout.
As mentioned before, I live in Singapore. Cost-of-living and all that; the more "traditional" hawker centres have cheaper food, the encroaching cafes and restaurants have more expensive food. When I was in the US, I was surprised at how expensive food options were, even for fast food. I suppose that's the price for health-consciousness.
This is why I didn't originally want to pay for a server transfer or rename token. -
Actual train of thought:
Ooh, new costumes... but they're part of a special pay pack? What the heck?
*clicks link*
I mean, it's ten US dollars!
*logs into NC account*
That would work out to be about fifteen Singapore dollars.
*enters credit card information*
I could see so many other uses for fifteen dollars. I mean, I haven't purchased a rename token or server transfer because of the price. I don't even agree with the idea of gated costume options, not even the vet rewards or the capes at level 20.
*buys code*
I don't see why I should have to pay for this. I mean, the actual logic escapes me. Why limit something like this?
*applies code*
It's not like I- wait. Did I just buy the thing anyway? -
The days after Chinese New Year? Good enough for me.

Do we get to know why?
If it's the "Asian = spammer" argument, then I'm going to start getting worried if my Asian self will be inadvertantly caught in some future AoE. -
The correct place for a suggestion is in the Suggestion And Ideas forum.
The correct place for verbal sparring is Not On The Official Forums. -

However, I didn't expect an answer other then what I got on here, so I'm not surprised. It's just interesting that when someone asks questions they get responses like this. Kindly keep any brow beating to yourself.

This thread is technically supposed to be a mere announcement that a lot of common questions about the game have been answered in a post in the CoH Livejournal community, which we did not (at the time) expect to be publicized as much as it has been.
The devs are not likely to answer any questions in this thread. The community mods are not likely to answer any questions in this thread, apart from what you seem to think is the party line. Us players are operating on what we have been told by the devs and the mods, and we have conveyed this information to you.
What more do you want from us? If you're looking for revolution, this is not the right place for it. -

In this game, at least, skill is more important than slotting.

Patience trumps all, though. The debt system means that one can die at every enemy spawn they meet, as long as they make some noticeable progress, and they'll still be able to hit 50 someday.
Whether that counts as "effective" is uncertain. -
Already way out of my price range, and I'm not living in the US. *sad*
I already donated to Child's Play this year (as I do every year since I discovered it; great cause), but I'm sorely tempted to make another donation. I mean, I don't need the rename/transfer tokens that badly... -

Um.
I don't think there's anything I can say to this that won't sound lewd, inappropriate, or both.
EDIT: Also, I hope that everyone's all right, whether at Cryptic or wherever the earthquake hit. -
I'm partial to An Adventurer Is You, since I came up with the idea. (Well, not really. I just put the concept into words and brought up the idea of the page.)
I actually had a huge list, but got tired of writing it halfway through. (Man, I miss WikiWord functionality.) Suffice to say that Genki Girl, Badass Lolita, Gadgeteer Genius, Love Freak, Small Girl Big Gun (or sword, or other appliance of destruction), and Deadpan Snarker are well-represented.
Also, I'd have more Meganekko if the glasses in the costume creator were more, well, Moe Moe. -

I don't care much either way, but wasn't this how it was originally and there was an uproar that CoV didn't have its own forum?
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. I remember when there was a lot of people asking for CuppaJo to split the General forum to CoH and CoV.
I believe part of the reason was that CoV had just come out, resulting in lots of posts regarding the New Shinies, and the CoH-only players complained that their posts were getting drowned out.
I also remember that Cuppa hung a Damocles over us, saying that CoV stuff had to go in the CoV forums, and if this did not turn out so, the forums were getting re-merged. -

Um...Ok...whatever happened to the rule where you cant be elected president more than twice? I am pretty sure they made this a rule at some point in time.

Good question.
From the article:

"There is no such thing as the USs 20th Amendment [in the Rogue Isles], limiting a presidents number of terms," said Dr. Jennifer Dornan, socio-political advisor for the Rogue Isles. "So because of Marchands unique situation where he is essentially immortal, he can run for office indefinitely."
[/ QUOTE ]
20th Amendment of the US Constitution on Wikipedia
Then there's the 22nd Amendment, which may be more relevant.
Or maybe it's Alternate Timeline again.
EDIT: Yeah, I know that the Rogue Isles are not technically subject to the Constitution. I'm just wondering what happened to the 20th/22nd switch. -

Different since 1937? This isnt a future without _you_, this is flat out a parallel dimension. We arent even a part of the equation!
[/ QUOTE ]
Rampant speculation: about the main thing I can see which happened in 1937 in Our Timeline was the passing of the Citizen Crime Fighting Act.
There may be more clues in other sources, like plaques and badges. -
[ QUOTE ]
One question I got asked today (and didn't have a concise answer for) was along the lines of "What good are badges and why should I bother getting the Isolator/Jail Bird badge during the Tutorial?"
[/ QUOTE ]
I suppose the most concise answer would be "mostly nothing". Because aside from the whole bit about accolades, badges don't really do much in a mechanical sense.
Villainside, one extra answer would be "some of them unlock contacts".
Getting Isolator/Jail Bird in the tutorial is mostly so that if, fifty levels down the road, one suddenly turns into a badge collector, one does not need to feel regretful that one missed it. -

Your question might be best answered in the Technical forum, where scarily knowledgeable people will be able to help. -

Welcome to the new century, I think you'll like it here. Please be aware that in this media age that most, if not all, countries allow for something similar to "fair use" or "fair dealing". You are allowed to copy a work so long as it is not for gain, and less than 10% of a work.
Again, welcome to the internet age.

Was that particularly necessary?
