  1. I am having similar problems.

The game started getting sound loops that would freeze the machine ever since i 17 went live.Last night was so bad the whole pc was freezing up for a good 10 seconds at a time.

I contacted support and they got me to run the coh helper for a list of specs then suggested that i turn off everything in start up,run on no sound acceleration etc.

My pc is currently running coh with no sound acceleration in minimum gfx settings at a lower resolution and still the game is freezing up.

If they cannot sort it out i am sad to say it has made the game unplayable for me and eventually i will just stop playing.

    Heres my file...

  2. What sort of bat do they use for this "football " i have heard of?

Seriously i find it a boring game to watch and when you see people being insulting /even being violent because they cannot agree which bunch of grown men kicking a bag of air about is better.......

/e runs for the hills before the mad footie fans start flaming

Ahh yes omega sektor i remember it well getting drunk with @qui-gong and the sumo suits

Just move us to the us servers and have done with it ..(runs for cover before the flames start )
  4. I have been following this thread and my tuppence is..

Yes i would go for a server merge with NA but if i remember rightly? the thing stopping them was the fact the accounts for NA and EU were in separate divisions of NC and it was legal mumbo jumbo that stopped them moving us over?

Could all have changed now that they shut Brighton OFC

    Good News !!!

Work has finally turned the corner and we will be back on a 5 day week in April and hopefully back on full pay by July !!!

After many months of doom saying it seems my account will be active for the foreseeable future !!!!

Many thanks to my online buddies for your support through these depressing times , coX has kept me sane
  6. Oh well I will not let the door slam on the way out.

Due to the recession i am having to sell my house so my COH sub will be up in April and i cannot see a single thing here that will make me resub.

Poor comunication,I 17 ultra mode for a pc i canot even afford and the slow carcass of the EU community slowly crawling on its elbows .

Going Rouge looks like it will not bring players back to the game or indeed entice new players.

Its been fun while it lasted and i shall miss you all .....
  7. Cyberknight

    Thank you guys

What can i say i feel deeply for you

Although i have not lost my job we have had cutbacks amounting to £400 a month short every month in my wages ,and over the last year i have had to cut back severely on the things i can do.

The only reason i still play COX is because another player i team with offered to pay my sub for a while , no names mentioned as he/she did not want praise/ spam.It goes to show that this is one of the best communities for a mmog i have ever found and it is the reason i keep playing .

I have made friends that i hope will last beyond the life of this game and their cheerfulness has helped me through many a dark moment.

I hope things improve for you with your health and wealth.

So do we get a free months play?

And a merry Crimble to all
  9. Set of pannier bags for commuting bike, subscription to a cycle magazine that i read (saving £20 a year and a free windproof worth £50 ).And a stinker of a cold so no Christmas rides for me

Other than that i will have to wait i guess some smellies and some cheap stuff.Christmas is more for my son and i know we will need an extension for all the stuff he is going to get .......
  10. Cyberknight

    Help!

As long as it is not the Eu servers you can die of old age befor you will get a GM to reply .......................
  11. I live in the midlands near derby in England and all the snow we had froze overnight,it was still - 6 (21 for those who work in that fangled other way of counting ) at 9.30 am

Looks like it will be the car tomorrow instead of the cycle as i do not fancy black ice on unlit country lanes at 6 am as i want to make to Christmas in one piece .
  12. Cyberknight

    Anyone there?

right click the desktop icon ,click on properties and change the shortcut to read.

    "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CovUpdater.EU.exe"

thats mine on c drive etc where it is installed you need to add the EU bit i believe so it points at the eu servers. It should then do a small download and thats it i remember right.
  13. It is bad and always has been .

I have been in teams who all filed bug reports and in solo missions etc and i have never seen a gm appear , ever !!!! ok i may be exaggerating i did see 1 once but that was years ago when the game was still looked after...........

In fact we just use auto complete for a bugged mission these days as we know it is a waste of time even posting a report.
  14. I was going to say the devs have all sigend up for the inf for cash companies but that would be

    a, silly

    b, cos im drunk

    c,eeer see b

  15. Gamma Base on defiant always has room for n00bs i mean i am in it so they must have
  16. We get worse lag playing on the EU servers compared to playing on the NA servers as several players who have tried both can verify.

I have no idea why ncsoft did not just tack on a few servers on the NA data centre from the start of EU release it would have saved a lot of hassle and a lot of bad blood as we pay for access to only 4 servers , seems like they just want us to buy extra slots ..........
  17. Cyberknight

    Ill/Rad perma PA

Thanks now all i got to do is rob a bank to pay for the slotting
  18. And PBs as well they have ranged and melee powers, in fact i am really enjoying mine atm
  19. After a conversation this morning about the hassle of going to your contact for missions i came up with this little idea.........

As soon as you get a new contact you have the ability to use the phone and save going back to them .I am not sure how it would work as i know that they are set to give your their number after a certain number of missions , but hey i am not a programmer

Another suggestion if the above was not do-able was a contact TP like any others i guess this would have a 30 minute timer.

  21. The other me is .........
    me as well

I had the game on import from i1 but only stayed for 4 months due to lack of teams , i was working very odd shifts at the time so i left then came back for eu beta .

Already sent a pm to avatea before i saw this thread.
  22. Can you get purples or good selling drops?

I am a relative newb in MA so i have no idea what to spend tickets on so if anyone has advice/ links it would be great as i want to make enough inf to slot my ill/ rad towards perma PA but i gulped when i saw the price ...........
