I'll try to keep this family friendly. Euphemisms used to protect the young and still innocent.
I'll take a combination of Stamina, Quick Recovery, and Moment of Glory. Then me and my wife will go "Play Scrabble" and I'll assemble the word "stimulation" on a triple word score. -
I'm trying to setup some binds for my pets to put on a fireworks show. I planned on using shift+numpad1-6 for each individual pet and shift+numpad0,7-9 for variations or all at once triggers. I've run into a problem though. It seems no matter what I do I can get them to use emotes in binds. I can get them to do it when I just use the chatbox to enter the commands but as soon as I set up a bind to it they just end up saying it.
Would someone please help me out. I'm sure I'm just screwing up the bind syntax. At least I hope it is me screwing up and not that the game just won't let you do it anymore. -
Oops didn't know. My play time has been very limited recently. Yay for random day/night shifts plus near constant travel.

Since there are 3 powersets coming out with a darkness theme why not make a dark themed costume change emote. Here is my idea:
When this new emote is triggered the character holds there arms out to the side similar to a scarecrow and then dozens of ravens land on them covering them. They stay for about a second and then all take off all at once revealing the costume change. -
I must echo the mention of Army of Darkness and really any of the Evil Dead movies. Bruce Campbell has so much cheesy awesomeness that he can almost take a round house kick from Chuck Norris... almost.

Thats why you have responsible and sensible channel moderators that kick jerks that try to abuse the channel like that. I personally think the spamkillers global channel should be listed in a sticky post in the general discussions forum as a way of helping the community self-police the RMTers. It could become a City of Heroes version of the neighborhood watch.

Pregnant pause...
I'm going to quit extending the metaphor before I get in too much trouble. -
Nice! I'll be adding that to my global channels list.

You know speaking from a villain mind set you could form a group up specifically to have fun killing the civilians. It could relieve some of the OMG YOU KILLED ONE!!11!!11!1! frustration.
-
Not versus individual catgirls unless it made thousands of small laser dots that could maneuvered with pinpoint accuracy. It would however be very useful against any giant catgirl robots.
-
How about this for a gimmick for a new armor set: a slow pulsing knockdown aura that also applies a damage debuff.
-
You know we could as a community help solve this problem by doing a little of the policing ourselves. How many people here would be willing to spend a little bit of their time, 15 minutes, to work with everyone else and go through the most common RMT hang out spots and use the tools they have, IE: /ignorespammer. This only works though if everyone works together and at the same time. You just need someone more capable of organizating it than me (I can't organize 3 books on a bookshelf). Hell you could form a league to do it. 16 people should be enough. It won't stop them all but you can stop a few of them.

Wow having reread my post, which I made after coming in from working out -2 degrees Fahrenheit, my only conclusion is that the combination of hypothermia and exhaustion causes me to think up and write second grade fan fiction.

For some reason thanks to this thread I now have stuck in my head a cartoon that does not and should not ever exist.
The Invasion of Catgirls from Outer Space:
An army of catgirls invades earth wielding rayguns that turn regular people into catgirls. The big bad looks like the Cat in the Hat and is as manic and crazy as the Warden from Superjail. All hope seems lost since the they seem almost singleminded in their determination to turn every person on earth into one of them. Then a small gorilla force breaks into their mothership, distracts them with catnip and yarn balls, and destroys the big bad's mind control device freeing the catgirls. Soon after they leave earth in peace. -
Quote:Okay... that just killed a bunch of fun. ICE's ability to break hibernate made it an equalizer and allowed a greater variety of builds to be successful in pvp. I get that with its ability to break heal decay having the ability to break hibernate is a bit overpowered. So with that in mind...The issues with Incandescence Core Epiphany not having a PVP value and breaking Hiber are fixed internally and will be making its way to live in an upcoming build, aka; soon™.
Is there any chance, good or slim, that a PvP Destiny power could be made that breaks phase, hibernate, and untouchable. 1 branch could have a short, 4 seconds, unresistable mez and the other branch could have a 1 minute recharge time. An Incarnate should be able to pierce through protections like that with a show of power.
Having the ability to break phase and hibernate would allow for a greater variety of level 50 pvp builds. This is a chance to make counter and alternative to powers that have been all but required to be successful in pvp. -
Swords are probably going to be the favorite Titan weapons.
Titan weapon suggestions:
Stop Sign - "I said STOP!"
_____(cant come up with a name) hammer - Double sided flat warhammer with a glowing power core in between
Nemesis Staff - it is too weighted at 1 end to be an effective staff fighting weapon
_____ axe - double sided axe with a glowing power core in between
Ice Sword - Looks like a bigger, more solid, two handed version of the greater ice sword
Magma Sword - A giant two handed sword that looks like it is made from partially cooled magma, possibly one version has a fire aura and the another doesn't
Scythe - The scythe needs the forward and back edges to both be sharp as well as a small spike on the end since this set has thrusting attacks.
Rularuu weapons - Please follow the original theme with these, big black weapons with sharp grey edges and glowing runes. If I had to pick between a sword, axe, or hammer I would pick the sword. -
Quote:That gives me an idea. Standard code rant applies to this but doesn't it to everything. How often in comics do we see thugs and other minions blasted backward by a Superbeing and knocked out or otherwise incapacitated by their landing? Pretty often right? The devs made it so that killing lots of minions quickly was the most productive use of players time. It did not need to be so and shouldn't be so. Superheroes have a multitude of means to accomplish their goals, as we used to here.
But several nerfs, to phase, stealth, personal force field, and others to ensure that you can't finish a mission without opening yourself to attack means that killing is the highest order activity.
Making it so that the best way to get purple inventions is to murder thousands of minions instead of AVs, creates even more incentives to efficiently leveraging AoEs.
Knockback would have problems even if the above wasn't true. But this just makes it worse.
My proposal is this: Introduce a scaling dmg effect to knockback that is affected by two things. First the magnitude of the knockback after an enemy's knockback protection and resistance are applied determines the base damage. A safe number that makes a good example is 10 damage per point of knockback that makes it through protection and resistance. Then that damage is multiplied by the enemy's class modifier. Minions get a 2, lieutenants get a 1, bosses get a 0.5, EBs and AVs get a 0.25 and Player Characters get a 1(its only fair that if it affects them it affects us). So if a minion gets hit with a mag 4 knockback it does 80 additional smashing damage but if a boss gets hit with a mag 4 it does an additional 20 damage.
The numbers can be played with until they are reasonable and powers that have a very high number can be flagged with a limiter. I only used 10 in the example above because it was an easy number to work with. This would make knockback more damaging to the enemies it is most likely to disperse causing them to be defeated faster. It makes knockback more useful and less annoying to the min-max crowd and the I Love my KB crowd get to do more with their KB.
That and when I go Minion Golfing in the Hollows with Force Bolt when I pop a Troll Slugger into the side of a building the impact will defeat it like it should. -
Finished slotting the revised build above earlier today. I'm only at t3 on spiritual but have the very rare and rare salvage to craft the t4. So far when I was running on the trials at just 50 I mainly had to watch for my crash and make sure Reform Essence was up and ready to go. Rarely had problems. Most of those problems involved Seers (psy dmg is the one hole in my god mode, lucks or team composition help plug it). Once I got my t3 spiritual slotted so that I was at +1 as long as I watched and refreshed my clicks when needed I was able to jump into spawns without any backup and solo crates on sLAMs.
Current problems are getting mezzed and the damage is not as high as I'd like it to be. Preemtive or Reactive Interface will solve the damage issue and Clarion Destiny will solve the mez issue. Lore I'm trying to decide between polar lights or storm elementals. Not sure which judgement I'm going to pick, probably a recolored pyro.
Edit: I kept Pulsar mostly for non trial content where I can hit it at the start of a fight to stun the minions it recharges in enough time that I can stack it on bosses. Proton Scatter could be subbed in instead with 5 posi blasts and you wouldnt affect the build much. After I get at least t3 incarnate abilities slotted I might try fighting a pylon (without lore pets) to see how the build does. -
Thanks for the advice here is the revised build.

Its not "human only" I do use dwarf form for set mules but my build so far has perma light form, perma inner light, perma essence boost, perma hasten, and 45% S/L defense. I'm hoping to tweak it a bit more to get more damage or a better power order.

Yay randomness!
I keep waiting for a Call of Duty game with the abbreviation CoD:PC so that I can pronounce it "cod piece."
Also if a mime sees a coffee machine pass a bat in the middle of the forest what does he tell the police?
Still want to mess up an outdoor political event by hiring a mime and a clown to chase each other around while a portable PA system plays Yakety Sax. -
Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway...

Yay someone else who wants to build for damage. I can help with this. I am a dissenting opinion here on the boards, most of the people here will tell you to go with soft cap defense to either smashing/lethal or ranged. I have played both softcap defense builds and my own damage builds. My preference is the damage build. Please note that I'm not saying softcap defense builds are bad. I just prefer my Blasters with a lot more BLAM.
Here are my two current High Damage - High Recharge Builds. The damage buff section in the set bonus totals does not account for the approximate 30% from musclulature core paragon and the 10.5% from assault and yes the do matter.
This one is working on his last few teir 4 incarnate powers. Other than that he is done.

This next one is still a work in progress. It is harder to play, maxes out higher, and has a higher maintained dps. This one has more BLAM packed into a squishy frame than can be achieved without kinetics support and can reach damage softcap on its own with a maxed out soul drain + aim + 10% additional defiance buff. Consider that before you use an ageless destiny soul drain is on for 30s and up every 34s and aim is on for 10s and up every 30s on this build.

Not a CoH character but one of my villains from when I played a super hero PnP RPG.
The Cabbage Patch Queen: The name "The Cabbage Patch Queen" is a name that was bestowed upon her by the media and the heros who have tried to stop her. She just calls herself mommy. She was a kindergarten teacher, married with two kids. Her life was happy and content until the day of the fire. Her husband had brought the kids to the school to have lunch with her. Her oldest, Samantha, had just turned 4 and had gotten a cabbage patch doll for her birthday. She had stepped out of the classroom long enough to go to the bathroom, and when she returned, the door was jammed shut from the outside. The paper that normally covered the small window in her door began to burn. The police never found out who set fire to the room, though the fire marshal found evidence of accelerants. None of that mattered to her though. Only one thing had survived the fire, Samantha's doll. She spent 7 days in the hospital following the incident, recovering from the burns on her hands that she received as she tried over and over again to open the door. She didn't sleep; she didn't lie down. The only thing she did during those 7 days was sit and try to comfort her daughter's doll. "It'll be okay, Sammy. It'll be okay." On the 7th day, the last thing anyone heard her say before she disappeared was, "It'll be okay, Sammy. Mommy will fix you."
Several months afterwards, seemingly random thefts began. A toy store was robbed, but only cabbage patch dolls were taken. The next night, an electronics parts store was robbed. Then, a few haz-mat tanker trucks were found, the tanks drained and the drivers dead. No one realized their peril until a few days later when the mall was taken over by an army of robotic cabbage patch dolls.
The only survivor described in detail what happened just before dieing of complications from multiple cases of frostbite and chemical burns caused by injected liquid nitrogen and sulfuric acid. "They just suddenly appeared blocking every entrance and exit. More and more began coming out of the closets and backrooms and out of cardboard boxes that were delivered that morning. They were cabbage patch dolls, but they could move, and they had these retractible needles that came out of their palms. They gathered everyone up in the center of the mall, and one came forward. It looked different from all the rest, like it had been in a fire. It spoke, I guess through a speaker, with a small child's voice. 'Mommy says that all of you need to die so that you can be reborn as one of us.' "
"The rest of the dolls, each with another small child's voice, took up the chant, 'One of us. One of us.' The one that was different spoke again, 'Don't worry, it only hurts for a little while.' Then, they began to close the distance to us, closed us in a circle, chanting as they came, 'One of us. One of us.' I blacked out. When I came to, there was a woman in the room. She appeared to be building new dolls and was using the information in everyones wallets to give them names. I heard her say, 'You've been a good girl Sammy. Soon there will be no one left, and you and my other children will inherit this world. Just think of all your new brothers and sisters I'm going to make... 6 billion of them. There will be nothing but a sea of your smiles.' I must have moved or made some noise because she turned and looked right at me. 'Tsk, tsk, Sammy, you missed one.' The doll looked at her and said, 'I'm sorry, Mommy. Don't be mad. I'll fix it.' The lady said, 'Good girl. Mommy will be waiting right here for when you get done.' The doll approached me, 'Don't worry, mister, everything is going to be alright. You'll be my new brother soon,' and then it started stabbing me, injecting me with those needles in its palms. Some of the wounds burned. Others just felt cold and numb. I passed out again. Next thing I knew you were hauling me into here on a stretcher."
The police searched everywhere, trying to find what the media had started calling the Cabbage Patch Queen, but she had gone to ground. Other mass disappearances have occured all over the USA, each one larger than the last. Her army is growing. If she ever accomplishes her grand plan, then the last thing she'll see is a world of small smiling faces before she, too, joins them.
