  1. Mmyes. Based on how long it's been there I'd assume it's either in "sure why not" territory, or just low on the fix priority list out of mercy due to Khelds being slot-starved in general. Impossible to know without an official word, of course.

[/ QUOTE ]I'd assume powersets with lots of KB are -bad- for blapping... Hoverbombing would be more useful for something like Energy Blast.

the 10minute mission in peregrine. Its simply Im-poss-ible to fight your way thru to click all the glowies.. You HAVE to rush/ghost through it.

[/ QUOTE ]Technically you're expected to fail this one, storywise the end result is exactly the same. It's just a little "sure, go have fun" goal for those who want it.
  4. A bug is a bug, regardless of good or bad.

What, you going to say the respec bug that allowed Kheldians to get unlimited slots shouldn't have been reported? Extreme example, but you can't have double standards.
  5. Rephrasing, Shields has never sucked on live. And I -like- clicky mez protection, it doesn't cost me any endurance to keep it active.
  6. So do you think they're gonna keep adjusting them so Axe becomes the AoE/Cone focused one and Mace becomes the ST damage dealer, possibly?
  7. Oh, yes, Storm definitely deserves a mention. Fire/Storm makes for a nice whirlwind of chaos and destruction.
  8. Shields has never sucked and anyone who says otherwise is a moron.

    Hover buffed

Speaking of which, will this make Hover worthwhile* for melee ATs?

*(Please don't start an argument on opinions )

Frankenslotting? Not a clue what that means...

[/ QUOTE ]Mixing set IOs from different sets with enhancement values you need (and sometimes HOs) to maximize enhancement per amount of slots used for a power, without aiming for set bonuses. For example, slotting Siphon Life from Dark Melee with 2 Nucleous HOs, 2 Golgi HOs, a Hecatomb Dam/Rech and Doctored Wounds Heal/Rech maximizes damage and healing, nearly maximizes accuracy and endurance reduction, and gives 60% recharge.

Er, Shields is positional, not typed.

I have a personal issue with misinformation. I hate it with a fiery passion. Because I know it's like a disease, it spreads and spreads. Someone reads your OP and takes it as some golden truth and starts telling his friends, and they tell their friends, and then you have dozens of misinformed people misinforming others. This might just be me, but I hate misinformation so very much.

You really ought to have worded it better, in the form of questions, you made it sound like a bunch of horrible advice. Sorry, I don't have anything against you as a person (I don't even know you), but I make it a point to crush whatever false information or bad advice I see on these forums.
But I'm also always willing to answer -questions- on anything I know about.

Heck, I'm almost inspired to write a quick Triform Warshade information guide thing myself now.
  13. Oh, and in terms of synergy: Rain of Fire + Tar Patch.
  14. Dark Miasma. Fire/Dark Corruptors are made of awesome.

    They solo extremely well.

They do great damage and excellent debuffage (I daresay Dark is one of the strongest sets for debuffing) in teams, while also providing mezzing.

They can even heal, and/or have their pet help them mez, debuff and heal.

What else could you possible want?

PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST IF EVEN THE MENTION OF A CERTAIN MMORPG COMMONLY REFERRED TO BY ITS THREE INITIALS WOULD ENRAGE YOU INTO FLAMING ME. Thank you.

With that out of the way, some of the Raid boss encounters in WoW are good examples of this. They juggle various gameplay elements which are not present in standard tank-and-spank fights, forcing the team to be more creative and alert, being on their toes, knowing what they're doing. Whether it's forcing people to move around to avoid swinging blades or laser beams or to keep warm so the freezing aura of the boss doesn't give you lethal frostbite, or to be prepared to destroy some object the boss summons periodically to draw power/healing from if it isn't destroyed fast enough, or mind controlling one of the party members...

Two problems with this, of course.
One, the CoX engine seems somewhat limited in what it can and can't do, so it might not be feasible to think of particularly exciting and innovative tricks for AV fights.
Two, some people actually prefer the easymode steamroller gameplay we have right now, where an AV is just a Boss with more HP and maybe a cutscene.

Of course, point two is easily made moot by the fact that nobody would be forcing these people to play this hypothetical new content with more complex (and fun) AV fights at all - the LRSF and STF are annoyingly hard. Not because of any particular tricks like what I mentioned earlier, but because one has eight Heroes ganging up on you, and the other has an uberbuffed Archvillain twoshotting your tank if you get unlucky. Sure, I whined about the LRSF a lot, but, eh, I really shouldn't have, because nobody was forcing me to do it, either. I wanted the badge, and should've just sucked it up. It was an actually challenging Strike Force. Would've been nicer if it wasn't challenging because of cheap fake difficulty, but still, it's SO much different from the normal tank-and-spank variety.
Unless your team is 7 Corruptors and a Granite Brute, of course.

tl;dr: We need more fun, complex, and tricky AV fights.

Granted, this is getting a little off topic. Should probably start a new thread on this.

    Ghosting.

The Nictus Romulus fight WITHOUT a Kinetics character on the team can be a fun AV fight that requires a bit of thinking, positioning, proper agro management and everyone knowing what they're doing.

(Of course, Fulcrum Shift just lets you pile up on him and smash him down like any other baddie without any tactics needed.)

Sometimes it beats pressing 3-6-7-8-1-4-2-3-4-2-3-5-ad nauseam, especially if you always see the same mobs in the same corridors, knowing that you could skip that button mashing and get a sandwich while the resident ghoster, eh, ghosts.

You can also be radical and chat with your team mates in the short wait until the ghoster is done ghosting. If you get bored of that, then either your ghoster svcks, or your team members are incredibly boring: Either way, you better reform the team.

Finally, you can be even more radical, roll a ghoster ans try ghosting for yourself.

Case in point: while reading your post and thinking of how to answer it, I was button mashing my attack chains pretty much on auto. I think that's telling of how fun laborious "defeat all" missions really are. Had someone been ghosting, I'd had a nice chat with my friends, and had I done the ghosting, I'd been concentrating on that. Either way, my mind would have been in the game, not here on the board.

All in my humble opinion, of course. If you enjoy your play-style, I'm not saying that you're wrong. I just don't agree.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't really agree with you either, although I don't have anything against it if other people prefer to ghost - unless I'm in the team for the experience, of course.
I have my own ghoster, as I stated in an earlier post here.

Also, mashing buttons 3-6-7-8-1-4-2-3-4-2-3-5 repeatedly is pretty much how the entire game goes. Including AV fights. If that bores you, I don't see why you're playing CoX (or (most) MMORPGs in general) at all.
  19. Meh, the bonuses are unnoticeable/useless/wear off within one or two missions. I ignore them. I just do day jobs for the badges.

Maybe Fantasy has been. Fantasy doesnt = Medieval.
Anyway, wonder why its been done a lot? Cos its quite popular, maybe?

[/ QUOTE ]Didn't you get the memo? All the cool kids hate popular things, like WoW or medieval/fantasy themed settings. A reason is not always required, either. If you don't hate popular things and proudly proclaim this over the internet, you're uncool.
  21. Axe used to be Mace's stronger, less controlly, more single target focused cousin.

    Then Mace got buffed.
Then Clobber (also in Mace) got changed from a control power into an Extreme damage power.

So... Mace stole all of Axe's advantages. Axe really is kind of lacking in that sense, now - why pick Axe when you could pick Mace, aside from concept?

  23. [ QUOTE ]
You absorb the kinetic energy from enemy attacks and increase your own density.

GFX the one from repulse(maybe it doesnt fit but damn that aura is a feast for the eyes)
Make it a toggle taunt aura similiar to rise to the challenge and invincibility.
It gives an unenchancable(sp?) amount of resistance to all but psi and scales with each additional enemy in the aura radius(10 max).

[/ QUOTE ]This. Name it Dampening Field; combine the two resistance passives into Energy Protection.

It'd be the inverse of Invulnerability like this. Also, a cool and unique taunt aura. First foe gives largest bonus, of course? I'm not entirely sure about "unenhanceable" though, why?

Also, on Toxic damage... Get rid of the Toxic Hole. Energy Aura is, in many ways, an armor version of the Force Fields buff set, both in theme and function. Force Fields grants a huge chunk of Toxic Resistance in Deflection Shield, thus Toxic Resistance should be one of EA's strengths, not holes. Bake a little toxic resist into each shield, so it'll stack up to high resistance values when running all toggles.
