  1. I can't recall ever having seen that one on a list inside the MA. I'd like to see more of the animations we players get available in there, seems like so many of the ones I think of using aren't. :/
  2. My two arcs in my sig are your next victims! Both have 25+ plays and are sitting at 4 stars. The first one's the better of the two, but the second one's not chopped liver I think. My thread for the first one seems to have been deleted by now, but the thread for the second is here. However I haven't yet listed that arc on the other site. o.o;

Y'know, I've tried PVP in this game, and I actually find it fun... but the attitude of PVPers have given it a black name. Maybe the exodus of the most outspoken PVPers was a good thing, now the only people left are the ones who actually want to try to have fun in the new environment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The one time I actually tried out a PvP zone those in there at the time were more than happy to rub my nose in that 'black mark' both verbally as well as... well, you know - they beat me up. ;_; So I'll go with the above comment. But I bet it's going to draw some flames too.

Since I don't have any sort of regular team or friends to pllay with, no PvP for me these days, attitudes or not, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

Taking a quick look at what was new in the Test server yesterday, it looks like we'll be getting a space to put your contact's "faction" and information, presumably that players will see when they "Ask about this contact." When I tested the mission though, I still didn't get that menu option; I'm sure that's something that will happen by the time I15 goes live, however.

A mission I'm working on has the "introduction" problem as well. At the moment, I'm sort of having the dialogue imply that the contact is already a known friend or acquaintance of the player. I'm not sure how well that will go over, however.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, good news! I hope they get that feature working.

As for your contact being an "known friend" - that will annoy some and others won't care. As usual, do what you feel is right and makes you happy with your arc.

I know people have run it off of flashdrives.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Know any details about that? I'm going on vacation soon and I wouldn't mind being able to take the game with me on the odd chance I get to play it.
  6. [ QUOTE ]

Menu->Options-> tab-> Controls Tab-> Mouse Section -> Mouse Scroll speed

The option can be set different on each character, so you might want to log on to a character that already has all your options set the way you want, click the save options to file button at the bottom, then just Load Options from file on all your characters as you log into them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whoa, we can set scrolling speed? I thought all this talk of making scrolling windows was just forgotten or something, cool!

Well I did run a mission with Ninjitsu foes after the fix, with a blaster, and I didn't die horribly, so it seems ok. It's still nasty when combined with the high-damage ranged attacks in melee sets, since their AI tells them to use the ranged attack first, so they get the damage bonus on it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's good to know, plus I hadn't even thought about the ranged attack side of it - thanks for the info.

i really would like a serious explanation: why the perma 46 if the devs dont like farms?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not half the farm that the MA was. You can't use perma-46 to get from 1 to 50 in six hours, so it's not that big a "problem".
  9. [ QUOTE ]

Have they fixed the damage scaling with Ninjutsu yet? I'd love for the Fashioninjas to be able to Hide again without them two shotting anyone who comes near. I had to replace Ninjutsu with Super Reflexes because they were too deadly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I asked about this in the Player's questions forum and was told they had. I haven't had a chance to test it for myself yet though. I was going to pick a random tiny map and drop in some /Nin of foes and see what happens when I walk in.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Now, I dont care if people farm or pl or both, its up to them, but what I do care about is when its so damn hard now to get a team that firstly isnt doing AE missions, or if they are arent doing lvl 54 boss farms. Its madness. So many in Atlas just looking for great xp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One thing worth pointing out about this is that the OP seems to think a majority of players are/were farming, a large enough majority that teaming became "so damn hard".

I don't think that many people were farming.

Plus try looking for teams in another zone instead.

Have you ever felt, as you go about your crime stopping and defending, that Paragon seems a little sterile?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, that's why I'm usually redside. It looks lived in... homey, like a comfortable nest around one's couch composed of a blanket, empty chip bags, a few dirty dishes (no more than 2 days old, please - I do have some standards), the shoes and socks you pulled off right after getting home and a snoozing cat or two (well, ok, snake). That's what redside feels like to me.

Blueside feels like detail-less Teflon that gets hosed down at the beginning of each day with the suds and water running down some inconspicuous drains, something like Disneyland.

    I hate Disneyland.
  12. Projectionist's recreation of "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper wins, hands down. I'm grabbing that for my new wallpaper.
  13. My new mastermind WATERSHIP DOOM endorses this thread.

... and it needs more bunnies saying DOOOOOOM!
  14. Same thing here! My next arc is going to attempt to answer the question "What if David Lynch wrote an MA arc?"

You ever see a David Lynch film, specifically one of his last three? Yeah, I have a LOT of planning and figuring out to do. :P

Oh well, the more time spent working and planning means it will come out better, right?
  15. Another tweaker here. I'll have to go in and take a look at what changed and is new and think on it for a little while. And I will be putting off a final version of my final arc... which means I can procrastinate on it for awhile longer.
  16. My two arcs (listed in my sig) are both only 3 missions long. I'm the first to admit the first one ("Too Many Bunnygirls!") is the stronger of the two by most accounts, but they both have 4 star ratings last I checked yesterday, and Bunnygirls was "only" at 29 plays ("Premium Quality" was at 22 I think).

If you'd like, take a spin and enjoy!

    HEADS UP

I think the DOOOOOOM precedes every new thing by about 3 weeks before it's officially announced.

    But thanks for posting that.

hmm maybe that is why it is gone. I wasn't looking to exploit lol. Just thought it was a good farming mish

  19. I ran into a sort of similar problem after plunking in a contact - there's no "ask about this contact" option to click on and get the write-up bio. I might as well have left it blank.

I'd really like to get that and a space for intro text.
  20. The4 game's always been a blast for me, so if you've enjoyed it in the past I think you will now, only more so because there's more content these days.

Oh, and ignore the cranky posters. The devs made a couple of small PR slip-ups and the cranky posters treat it like the second coming of the Third Reich.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
There will always be low-level defender and controller builds that have an extremely difficult time soloing any content, even Hellions. The main problem is that they don't do enough damage, so they wind up dead before the mobs do.

In addition, the skill and experience level of the player makes a big difference. Someone who knows when to use inspirations, how to pull, when to run, which mobs to take out in what order, etc., will be able to run much tougher missions than a newbie can. And someone with a vet attacks (Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff) will be able to do a lot more damage than someone who doesn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's one thing that seems to get left out of these considerations. I'd rather arc players own up to the responsibility of making the "can I do this one or not?" call instead of having to make so ultra-sure my arc's sharp edges have been filed down and warning signs plastered across every surface. Well, actually the warning signs would be ok at the beginning of an arc - that's what the arc write-up space is for.

For example, I recently ran a lowbie arc for villains with a lowbie MM and did fine. I sent the author a nice comment and he mentioned back that some Corrs and Doms had complained it was too hard. Lots of things are hard for lowbie Corrs and Doms and you should know this by now.

This can lead to some bad calls on your part as a player of course. "My Dom's doing good at 8th, I think I can do this one... oh wait, I just died again, maybe not..." If that'd happened to me after making my judgment call (assuming the author's arc was well labeled with what to expect), then I have no prob owning up to my mistake and not one-starring the arc or something.

I dunno how common or uncommon a stance that is for a player to take though.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    - Do Not Repeat a Mission
If the purpose of mission 1 is to destroy a mind control device, do not have mission 2 be to destroy another mind control device (same with finding out information, preventing a kidnapping, etc). Repeating the same purpose in another mission feels like filler, even with a cool map. Maybe another hero or the police took out the other devices. Or maybe there was only one (you are writing the arc, you make it fit your needs). The plot needs to develop – that’s how a story works.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm still kicking over an issue with this rule. I agree with it in theory, but the arc I'm working on right now is sort of like a time travel thing and part of it I was thinking to do would involve a follow-up to a previous mission where you'd go back and undo something you did earlier, which would mean - yes - the same map, pretty much the same clickies, etc. There'd be a cosmetic change or two along the way, but...

Anyone got any ideas on that? Think it's worth it or too likely to annoy? There's a reasonable chance I may drop it anyways as I have six missions in my head for the arc, but for some reason that's one to many.
  23. Dear Caves,

Hi, how are you? Not bad here, but I am sad to hear that people are still ragging on you like they do. I rather like negotiating the tight spaces and you're awesome for my AoEs. I even think you're great fun when I'm running with masterminds!

As you know I will be committing creative suicide on my next MA arc by including your blue version and I could give a rat's scab what other think. To me you're just dreamy...

Some people think I'm nuts, but I know the real you, caves - and you're totally awesome.

    Your fan,

Hah. My ability to remain hidden even when out in the open amazes me to this day.

    Ah well.

Maybe you forget to untoggle your Stealth or Steamy Mist or something again.
  25. Interesting idea! Shame I have no real marketable skills to offer, or at least none that are refined at a "marketable level". I am by nature a jack-of-all trades kinda guy, little bit of writing, some art (fine arts major here), etc.

I dunno how useful I can be for you, but if you feel like tossing in a wildcard player for ideas and a little bit of this, that an' t'other, I'll take a look.

Out of curiosity you might want to examine my arcs below to get some idea of my writing and idea skills (I think I got all the unintended typoes out!). They are of course only humor-oriented ones (so far). And I say that to honestly give you something of mine to check out, not just to get more stars.
