  1. I'm still having trouble getting my head around the fact that wasn't (it seems) an April Fool's jest.

That's just cuz you've done them so often. I think I've done two in for years. Then again, I don't mess with Mids much.

There are two freespecs on the way with i20, rejoice!
  4. Never heard of or seen that one before. Have you tried clicking around the window (past it's edges, as if to bring it to the fore) to see if it will go away?
  5. I had to stand around for fifteen minutes to wait for the freakin' zombies to go away so my PUG TF could street hunt some LongBow. FIFTEEN MINUTES!!! FOR REALS!!!!!

Really, it's not a huge pain. I'll say that double XP would have been nicer, but this was still fine.

  6. So here's my new arc and the poster I've made for it - I can't believe the thing is finally done (at least until the suggestions start coming in)!

I've been kicking this one around in my head for months, then started writing it and then had to rewrite most of it as its focus and themes changed. And then I had to rewrite it again as extra little details came filtering down to me.

I ended up with a starting metaphor* that informed some free association that I then turned into the usual collection of glowies to click, foes to fight, etc. Additionally, there's something that's taken place that I never flat-out put into words, but only hint at through small clues and allusions. Neither are really meant to be "hidden" nor "secrets for you to chase after", but they are central to the story itself. I won't give them away myself, but feel free to talk about them here if you wish to.

The overall tone of it is cryptic, spooky and sort of mental. Unlike my previous arcs, there's pretty much no humor in it.

    Advice for play:
-Solo will probably be best or you might miss some information.
-The first map has renamed Psychic ClockWork, so here's your 'psychic attacks ahead' warning.
-Enemy groups are just renamed foes except for the final one, although a couple of that group are also just renamed foes.
-Stop and smell the roses, I didn't say "Not an arc to rush through" without reason.

I've been able to solo it with a level 50 stalker, so it shouldn't be too hard for anyone else, unless you're reeeally squishie.

    * Yes, I misspelled 'metaphor' in the description given in the MA.

Considering what a PITA it is to respec, I'd say you should seek out professional help!

Who would want to respec when you could be out whacking foes?! Oh, right, you... Well, you have my my sympathy, even if I can't understand your illness - I have a 50 (one of only two) from a couple years back who has the sloppiest build ever and I still run her on occasion.

That's what I've seen with some of the purples I deal with, I end up flipping them rather than crafting like half the time.

While on the subject of purples (and to semi-edit my above post), I had one drop recently that wasn't one I normally look at. It was one of the Fortunata Sleep ones. Sleep is always slow moving for any IO set and I'd imagine these to be the same, but man there were tons of this one on the market already, both crafted and not, and they weren't selling for much (but I did sell it within 24 hours of posting it). So I imagine the purple market has been affected some by everyone running their 50s.
  9. I won't mention was sets I was looking at (heh heh heh), but I haven't seen this, myself. I do have some mid-levels sitting on the market that haven't been moving like hotcakes, but my prices aren't too high so I can be patient.
  10. Looking for suggestions for my Energy Melee/Super Reflexes.

Looking over the choices, I was thinking of Body Mastery as I could always use help in the End department. Failing that, I don't have anything in the Fighting pool yet, so that be helpful for softcapping.

Any suggestions? I have to admit I'm not overwhelmed from what I've seen on my look-through of the others, although I'm not terribly experienced with any of them as I rarely play toons past 40 or so.

    Thanks in advance.

Hamlet?! Oh, right, the ghost of his father... Dang, thought I had you there.
  12. The few times I've tried to play with them as 'skittles for the chewing as soon as they show up', I invariably burn through them faster than I get them and end facing some situation where I'm sorely missing having them, like when I'm face planted and have two dissimilar ones, neither of which is a wakie. Then again, that's often a time when I'm on some crazy PUG that's really probably playing at a level too high.
  13. One of my most fun tips was actually run blue-side (me, blueside! Imagine that!). The mission was to run through a warehouse fun of gun turrets and proximity-bombs. After my Defender tried playing duck-and-tag a couple of times, I realized "Hey, isn't this a bubbler defender?" and felt kind of stupid. Turned on the personal nothing-touches-me-ever bubble, ran through and was done in five minutes tops.
  14. Praetoria didn't seem to slow down until all the end-game stuff popped up, meaning everyone was playing their 50. It should get better over time.

I do know what you guys mean by it being slow though; I tend to play late at night or early morning and even on Freedom it's hard to find people to team with.
  15. I dunno about build vs. AT here... I think I'd have to go with AT. My namesake was a stalker who got left at about 32nd level due my hemorrhaging altitis back not long after he... well, reached 32nd level. For some reason now I've gone back to him, found some fresh costume concepts and been playing him again (he's at 39th now).

Stalkers are the first AT I was playing when I finally feel I got the point of the game and how to play, so they always feel a bit like home to me. When I look at the fact that the only two 50s I have are a scrapper and another stalker, well, it all sort of makes sense.

  17. I only have two 50s, a Kat/Regen scrapper and a DB/Nin stalker. I guess if the two teamed I could finally answer he question about whether or not stalkers are 'worth it' as an AT. (hint: I think they are)
  18. I was looking for a 'quick-n-ditty hook-up (maybe a granite tank to help agro-shield my stalker, you know?) but instead I think I found my arch-enemy...
  19. See this, see this?! This is why farms are bad!! We've been telling those ignorant little $#@&'s this all along and they just couldn't be bothered to look at the facts, could they? Well I hope they're happy. And now I look to them to overpay me for my market items because someone's got my inf and it isn't me.

I think they do it more for the big paycheck that often accompanies such roles than anything else. Having someone like Dustin Hoffman in your film draws people, no matter how ridiculous the basic premise.

    6 hours downtime

Funnily enough, I just got back from Cap* and saw someone complaining about losing inf "and now I'm a lowbie again".

*and boy are my arms tired! http://instantrimshot.com/
  22. Here's a timelord moment I just noticed after reading this thread the first time:

The Facemaker on Cap is in a building with two 'front doors' and you can enter through either of them. On St. M's, the building just has one, but the map inside is the same as Cap, so it has the same 'two doors' layout. You can still exit through either one, but of course you always come out the single.

These days of course, they know plenty of adults are going to or may watch it. so they toss in every possible genre they can think of to try and hook as many eyes as possible, much like how every movie has to have some action scenes, romance scenes, funny sidekick scenes and end with a big dance number based around a pop song at least 15 to 20 years old (ok, so that last one only applies to animated non-Pixar movies, but still).

I can't say I welcome it in Dr. Who and it has gotten on my nerves in some places, but on the other hand The Lodger was an obvious nod to the rom-com overlords and worked perfectly, so I'm not really gonna complain.

Arachnos would still exist, though... Lurking in the shadows... Waiting for the time to strike and claim their proper place as a legitimate threat to the world. It's just that the in-fighting and faction strife has reached the point where it's causing plots and plans to fail, so some "pruning" needs to be done...
Then serioused-up. These are actually pretty good suggestions (although I think we're doomed to be stuck on a small chain of islands, just as those do-gooders in Paragon City are doomed to be stuck in one city).
  25. Hm, it's not April 1st yet, but...
