    I agree completely.
    So very this:

I haven't played a lot lately, so perception comparison grain of salt up front.

Played this weekend, on a teens Dark/Fire Dom. I was often leading with my ST confuse... and the mob hit would frequently just immediately turn and run for the hills. It struck me as odd, and not at all something I remembered.

The Leia-Han romance covered 2 movies.

    And was relatively well done.

Fair enough, I was probably reading too much into your comment then, hence my opinion reminder. Purely comprehension fault on this end.

Also fair enough, for if I were to introduce someone to Star Wars (and I have - points to children as Exhibits A&B), I would start with IV-VI in order. And only then reluctantly through I-III, in order.

I would then live for years in disappointment that IV-VI are viewed poorly by the modern generation for looking like low budget junk by modern standards, but with pride that I in no way need to point out the flaws of I-III.

Just to clarify, a "bad article" could indeed be a "bad article". But, it is only his opinion offered for review. And is as worthy as any other for consideration in the larger discussion.

My opinion is that first Star Wars movies (IV-VI) were never "great films" (aside from ground breaking usage of special effects) but they were great story telling. My personal opinion puts me in the camp that believes that I-III were bad story telling, packaged in movies of exceptional production value. And there are many, many reasons to think this that have absolutely nothing to do with Jar-Jar.

(Wish I had the time to go look up the youtube link of a guy walking through a script rewrite of Episode I that would have made it brilliant...)

Now for the actual reason for this post. I was hoping beyond hope that someone somewhere (by someone I mean 7 other people) would want to go sewer diving like back in the day. For some reason that's the only thing I constantly miss. So does anyone want to go sewer diving for 12 lvls and pop up in a random zone and do missions? It's not just for fun either. A good 5 or 6 exploration badges are down there and it's pretty easy to get the Vahizlok, Hellions, and Lost badges after fighting them for an entire night. Maybe we can get 7 rpers and start a lil' ol' rp sg like they used to do at low levels. Anyone remember that? Just me? K...just checking...*looks embarrassed*

Also the fact that I have to structure this instead of just starting one in the server does strike me as ironic (was that the right use of the word?).
For 'olde-time's sake' you may find some takers, and I wish you luck. I am sure it would be a fun little event.

(But, just in case you were not yet aware, the classic Sewer runs were pretty firmly put to rest by the new DfB Trial. Most newer players probably have never set foot in the real sewers, and may not even know they exist. (Which probably explains why using the forums would make sense to try and organize it over in game.))

It doesn't matter, and it is just what they said/assumed anyway.

Fine film. Fine, fine low budget film.
  13. Ah, well.

If there needs to be a space combat suit movie, I'd rather someone try their hand at John Steakley's "Armor", but "Starship Troopers" gets all the raves so not real surprised.

Given the current active US military research projects on combat armor and hydraulic assisted soldier mobility... I wouldn't rule it out for the US either.

pfah. Is it perfect irony? No, but there remains at some level irony.

Our general direction: "You may not compare here."
The specific direction: "Go there and compare."

We are presented with a defined substance of allowed behavior within these boards that is then contradicted by direct instruction from within the same boards.

And 'their rules on the boards' is handwavium.

I remain amused, but it is also no more significant than that.

Of course, those of us that have been to the site know that they are in the same genre and are indeed CO and DCUO, but Hit Streak didn't compare or contrast either game with ours, or even the costume creators in the games.

He merely mentioned a site running a poll and suggested we go there vote for CoH: Freedom.
    Fair enough.

However, Hit Streak's link does directly promote comparison - voting inheritly implies comparison/contrast.

And, if a thread devoted to making explicit comparisons and contrasts of the three editors at issue was started, I predict it would be shutdown quickly. But, by all means go vote, we are encouraged... It remains an ironic contrast, in my mind.

yeah, the irony of self-promotion through comparison when we can't compare is somewhat tasty.

You know I didn't greatly miss the comparison discussions until recently when I began perusing another game's boards that allows them, and I realized they can add a lot of value to understanding and enjoyment of what the game offers.

    Oh, and voted for CoH...

    Prometheus

Finally got around to seeing this.

Fine film, worthy within the franchise.

And I totally do not understand the claims of retcon to the alien biology or how the goo doesn't fit. Made perfect sense to me, and fit nicely.

edit: there were some plot holes, however, such as the getting lost/left behind, running in a line away from the crash, and how the small hugger grew to such a great size without any material/energy in particular. nothing drastic, though.

I've actually been pretty impressed with the speed to get this out. Given that the Pummit was in November, I can't figure how 7 months became longer than a year...

At least Chris Nolan knows enough to disconnect from Batman after three films, and Guillermo del Toro seems to be stretching his legs a bit with Pacific Rim.
Cameron fell into it when? If you mean Avatar, he planned sequels before the first was done, so not sure that is a far comparison, exactly. Peter Jackson attempted to stay out of the Hobbit (assuming that's what you mean), but took over only when the other director pulled out...

Lucas remains in a class by himself.

It is completely cobbled, from the early presentation of Praetoria to the end.
Knowing the completion and telling a story that was compelling are two differen things.
