Fair enough, but does that absolve the rest of us from practicing behavior that attempts to be considerate for others? Simple courtesy and all that... I'm surprised so few are interested in simply being polite.

Don't remember saying it was new. And new or old doesn't mean that people can't have an opinion about it.
  4. It is knowledge in no way knowable unless you seek it our or play the arc. It isn't hinted at, discussed, or mentioned in passing elsewhere AFAIK.

Just because someone that may not play that content for months may read this and forget, makes it no less true. I can present a case for the player that may start that content tomorrow at 1:11pm and have just had it spoiled in contrast.

As such, it is, in fact, a spoiler. (As an aside, I think that is proper comma placement, but it offends my sensibilities.)

For people that have played as long as we have, sure.

For that guy that just started and hasn't played those arcs, yet, on the other hand... nicely done.
  7. Doesn't mean that a better choice couldn't have been made.

I tend to agree with the OP and bemoan this unfortunate definition shift, but I also accept that it appears pretty ingrained at this point.

In related news, Delegate remains my favorite Roman hand-me down word. And it hasn't shifted significantly - so I have that.
  8. The trial process has issues...

The biggest being the limitations of the system. To make foes harder they have to hit harder or be more durable... The crazy death facing Penelope in MoM trial as case in point.

I have no reasonable recommendations to adjust them, but I look forward to the soloable content.

I agree they are fun for some people, but to pretend that the reward at the end has nothing to do with people joining four or five an afternoon is perhaps a bit misleading.

    fixed?

    What is there to fix?

It is already is a two-handed set.

shield in one hand, weapon in the other.
  10. Can we compare unbuffed brutes to buffed tanks too, then we can look at improving brutes also.

    This is fun.

(Oh, and tanks are pretty fine.)

That really is just about it.

They saw my draft rad armor above, pointed out a couple flaws, but agreed it was an interesting concept that could work with some work. Then mentioned that there were lot of powers being worked on, some surprising and others not so much. Nothing revealed, and with the weekly market releasing no shocker to know they are working on things.

Given a conversation I had with a certain redname, I understand there are several new sets in the pipeline. Some will be real 'surprises'.

But I imagine there are lots of trial type things in store too, so you won't be disappointed.

  17. Bah. There are multiple cats, hanging together sporting their feline fashion. So what? What do we need to be more involved with them for? They have each other.

The real mystery and person I feel sorry for is the only flying denizen of PD, the lonely bird man off hovering over the dance floor.
  18. Encountered this fellow for the first time recently.

    I smiled.
  19. Not sure it is worth a suggestion thread all it's own, but fleshing out the concept some... a toxic, corrupting, nasty, and unique set.

    Radiation Armor (according to Chyll)
    1. Reactive: Auto: Self +Res(Smash, Lethal, Toxic)
    2. Emissions: Toggle: Self +Res(Smash, Lethal, Energy); PBAoE: Foe -Resist
    3. Leakage: Toggle: Self +Res(Fire, Cold, Negative, End Drain); PBAoE: Foe -Dmg
    4. Dissipation: Toggle: Self +Res(Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Fear, Immobilize, Knockback)
    5. Mutation (needs another name suggestion): PBAoE: Minor DMG(Toxic), Foe -End, Self +Health
??: Auto: Self +Res(-Recharge, -SPD, Toxic, Energy, RES Debuff)
    6. Discharge: Toggle: PBAoE, Foe -Regen, Slow, Taunt
??: Toggle: Self +DEF(All but Psionics)
    7. Cascade: PBAoE: Moderate (Energy), Minor DoT(Toxic), Foe Taunt, Knockback; Self: -Recovery, -Health, -Regen
Emissions would have a -resis element, leakage -dmg, discharge a -regen (slightly late for the taunt aura with discharge, but I'm thinking this set would be an aggro hogging set anyway).

The 5th slot needs a new name: but would be a radiation version of dark regen - lower heal component but drawing end from surrounding foes to boost the character's health.

Cascade would set this off further as a departure from the normal armor: essentially a tanker nuke, hitting the foes clumped around with some damage and a taunt spike. Notable endurance cost and some draining downtime after - but no full crash.

Yes, or I immediately pictured the Man in a suit Bot from Pinky & the Brain.

(off the joke topic a second - didn't understand why the monster fish head didn't have a jar option, for those fishmen that need water)

An Oscar the Grouch garbage body would be fun.

What about non-traditional head shapes? Square/cube head? triangle/pyramid?

Can I haz a tinfoil hat?

    bah, number crunching silliness.

It'll perform in the same normative range as everything else.

Flavor, secondary abilities, animations matter so much more.

And to answer the OP, I'd be likely too look at it strongly yes.

edit (drifting more in to a suggestion thread topic): for the attacks my expectations would be a fair bit of DoT, slightly lower damage, but with -regen and/or -resist (might be a neat trick to pass that through gauntlet for a logically unique approach).
edit: mix in some toxic damage too, maybe energy for the main strike and and a toxic dot?

On the armor side, I'd look for it to be primarily resistance based. I'd expect a damage aura. To get inventive and try for a really unique feel, I'd almost give every armor an aoe effect, say... first armor pretty standard, second armor a minor -resist aura, the third armor a minor -regen, or something to really make it an oozing radiation feel... probably skip the damage aura in that case, and go all debuff: -regen/-resist on a couple of the armors. Not high numbers, but tough to balance...

Energy Aura is similar. It deals with different forms of energy shielding which could easily be colored green (or however you imagine radiation looking) and called Tachyon This or Gamma Ray Cloak That.

I'm not trying to shoot down anyone's idea, but let's not forget that we can customize existing powersets.
All true, but in this game rad does different things than energy, so keep that in mind too.
  23. That looks like some of the worst of the early 80s....
