I tried Fallen Earth and it was not for me.
I will give Mechwarrior a good hard look (wish it had more of an RPG element though)
I will also be starting to fool around with Minecraft.
The Elder Scrolls Online might be interesting when it is ready
And if SWtOR ever goes F2P I will check it out. -
Rad, Time, Traps, Dark, Poison. Any of those would be good.

Quote:This is right on the mark. Nice post.I like Dual Pistols/Poison. A lot.
Poison is a set that wants to play at range from 1-34. All of its skills from tiers 1-7 are best used at range and there is absolutely no reason for you to dive into a spawn or enter melee range. However, at levels 35 and 38 something odd happens. A set that primarily played at range is suddenly forced to enter melee range to use two of its most powerful skills. Once you get Poison Trap and Venemous Gas, you will drastically change your play style.
This is why I like Dual Pistols with Poison so much. Just like Poison, Dual Pistols is a set that plays best at range up until level 32, at which point it receives Hail of Bullets and a dramatic incentive to enter melee range to unleash carnage. These sets synergize perfectly in regards to leveling approach and they are insanely potent together. You have the option stack massive amounts of -damage debuffs with Weaken, Venemous Gas, and Toxic Rounds all being multiplied by your -resistance debuffs. You also can lay down serious AoE damage with Incendiary Rounds, Bullet Rain, Hail of Bullets, Poison Trap, and all of your debuffs. -
Quote:You make great points and Bring up questions I do not have answers to...Actually, I'm leaning towards Radiation Blast because it is THE most synergistic with Time's melee nature, given the pbAoE and tAoE that are very quick as well(burst feels better than DoT in my opinion). It also doesn't have too low damage actually because of its speed. (Edit: I also find Rad easy to use, even while hovering way above the ground where rains wouldn't work well.)
Also, defense debuffs are actually extremely useful to me. First, they mean a little less need for accuracy, which is great for SOs/HOs only where slots will be very precious until HOs at least. Second, with all the to-hit debuffs and defense buffs that enemies have, defense debuff will help with those quite a bit. It also helps everyone else hit the enemy, not just yourself.
I'm still debating Ice and Psychic though. I think part of the problem is I'm not sure how effective the recharge slow is.
How does recharge slow behave? Is it on an exponential decline in effectiveness like recharge buffs are?
Is there a recharge slow cap?
How much does it actually reduce incoming damage?
I've been here for years and I'm still figuring out the numbers and how to slot better.
Edit:
I also have a main Fortunata that I greatly enjoy, so I'm wondering how the Psychic powers of corruptors compare.
I have never really made a build without IOs so Def Debuff might be a bit more valuable in that case. I might play with Mids to see how effective an SO build is. As for the Damage on Rad, I really do find it lacking, but that might come down to play-style. I tend to have long attack chains using many powers. So with the 'clicky' nature of Time I am not gonna have the time to spam a few quick recharging powers to take advantage of Rad Blasts pretty good DPS. Even with that said I am a big fan of Cosmic Burst and Atomic Blast. I have 2 level 50 Rad Blast toons, My main a Rad/Rad Corr and a FF/Rad Def. I often wish I would have picked a different primary on my main. And my Def is a very niche roll player on teams, all his attacks are slotted with a Achilles Heel -Res and without IOs that trick will not be available.
I am really ignorant on the limits of recharge debuffs, I might look in to it. But as they say Ignorance is bliss. And I do not loose sleep worrying about it, I loose sleep enjoying this great game. -
Quote:This. Yes I understood what the OP was asking. In fact the subject should have read what is the 2nd best Primary for a Time Corruptor. Sad that some people can not just move past that and keep yelling "FIRE!" Who cares what the reason for not choosing Fire Blast is, I didn't on mine and I am very happy with my choice.Fine.
I'm guilty as charged of making a poor choice of words in the subject line. You people just don't want to read the actual post where I did ask for opinions on other sets.
I'm not going with Fire. It's overused and overrated. I'm not that fond of the graphics or no secondary effects either.
So there.
By the way, NO INVENTIONS!
Every suggestion and "Time does it all" statement you make seems to end up with "if you slot it with this set".
I don't have access to them. I also will never take Power Boost because:
1) If the set was designed around it then the set sucks and I'll just complain about it until the set gets balanced to not force me to choose a power outside of it.
2) If #1 is wrong then it will probably eventually be nerfed, or at least it is not necessary so I can choose a different ancillary/patron I will use more than just for one power on a long recharge. -
Quote:Agree but, I pick X-ray over neutron, because I put more weight on max damage than DPS than most players. I like snipes, and as far a snipes go, Proton is one of the better ones.I remember the damage being a little low, but the more difficult problem was endurance.
I'd set to -1/4~6 so you can have large mobs for Irradiate. Using Bolt and Sands of Mu on Lts.
As a general habit I rarely use RI (while solo'ing) to save on endurance.
I'd skip X-ray Beam, Electron Haze, Proton Volley.
You're high enough to use Cosmic Burst and Neutron Bomb so damage shouldn't be a problem at your lvl.
EDIT: just saw the RI comment... I have a Achilles' Heel: Chance for Resistance Debuff and 5 Dark Watcher IOs in my RI and use it every fight, soloing or not.
my 2 cents, YMMV -
My vote on the OP question (i.e. excluding Fire) would be; Ice, Sonic, Psychic, and even Dual Pistols. In that order.
All these have good synergy with Time's debuffs and positioning. I feel that Time is a is most effective in near melee range. Which is why i do not recommend Beam Rifle or AR. Rad is out because, it sacrifices too much damage for def debuffs which is at most only slightly helpful. Dark is always an option as tohit debuffs are valuable but suffers the same poor damage as Rad and even worst AoE attacks.
For my Time Corruptor, I chose Psychic Blast for theme reasons and all that recharge debuff stacking has to count for something... or I hope it does. I have been enjoying playing him. My plan is to get Ageless Destiny and Burnout to spam the hell out of Slowed Response, Chrono Shift, and Psychic Wail . Sounds like a good time to me.
My 2 cents, YMMV. -
I was going to abstain from the contest because I have been assisting in the organization of the event. I feared people would cry foul if my team won, but I will join in if it means getting a third team going. I will just split my winnings among my team members. Zal and Omega, I will be in touch.

I lived in Las Vegas when I started playing, but move a few years ago. I tried to look for Las Vegas area CoH/V players, with no luck, but did not try very hard. I hope you have more success than I did. Best wishes in you new city.

Quote:I tried to make peace over this. An explain that I used the wrong phrasing to say what i meant, and tried to explain and even come to a compromise on your idea. I can admit i over-reacted to you post... can you do the same? You reply to my suggestion with "Next thing you know people will insist on a 50 for signing up for VIP." Something so far out of left field and so ridiculous (and having exactly ZERO to do with my suggestion except mock it,) this after replies like Mr. "I ARE LEET RPer, Away, Freemium Peons!" - would you expect it to *not* be taken as an attack, as opposed to a legitimate, thought out criticism?
And then to go to the "Back in MY day, we had it hard!" bit. Well, yes, and before that you could only run one armor, rooted actually rooted you in place, etc, etc, etc.
The game has evolved. It has changed to make things more accessible and to make teaming more enjoyable and worry free. I no longer have to worry that the person exemping me down for a TF will disconnect and I'll get auto-booted from it. Hazard zones no longer have levels (meaning, of course, that if we have a team of mixed levels, half the team won't be locked out of the zone where a mission is mid-arc.)
People can team up and just decide to do any TF they want, as long as they're of the appropriate level... except this one. That, to me, is broken, a throwback to an earlier, less "friendly" age of the game. And that's what I want to fix. That's nowhere near "Insist on being awarded a level 50 for going VIP" or any of the other ridiculous things that have been thrown around on here by a few individuals. Your reaction, to me, was on par with me saying I wish cars had more efficient engines and you going "Next you'll want a teleport to your own personal moon base complete with starship, I had to work 90 hours a week at minimum wage to earn my first car!"
So you'll just have to excuse me being offended at that being piled on top of all the other nonsense thrown out as arguments "against" the suggestion.
please put me on your global ignore in the forum and in game. (my global @chef inferno). -
[QUOTE=Stormbird;4093519]Quote:The point I was trying to make and did a poor job of it was; From my point of view, the game was not broken before, I enjoyed it with those restrictions in place. My comment about the "dumbing it down to make a buck" is more about attempting to make the game more enjoyable to a wider number of people before Freedom went live. Which is not a necessarily bad thing, but I do feel there have been some unintended negative consequences. Even with that said, I still do not like the idea of any strange hero off the street being able to just walk on in to the Midnighter's Club. As a poster before pointed out alternative access to Cimereora could be a good idea if implemented correctly.Next people will ask for a level 50 toon for signing up for VIP.[/qutoe]
Y'know what I'd love? For people to not get all hyperbolic about things because of wanting to remove one of the last locks in the game.
This is not "dumbing down," as much as some of these opposing responses seem to indicate it may be needed. You'd still have to be 35 to run missions, etc. in Cim. You'll still have to fight romans for costume bits, and run the ITF for others. And this has absolutely NOTHING to do with "making a buck." What does it have to do with? Removing the need for a tedious arc that's inconsistent between sides on when it's awarded. Removing the *last* zone unlock left (a co-op zone, as it happens.)
Perhaps you'd like to read the original post again and actually try *thinking* about the response before posting it.
And don't go into the "Walking uphill through ten feet of snow at thirty below wearing nothing but a fifth-hand pair of worn khakis, damp cloth wrapped around my feet, no shirt, for fifty miles just to get a drink of water" nonsense. I've been around long enough to have seen the same things, and removing the silly restrictions has done nothing but make the game *better* and more enjoyable.
One last thing, please stop with the personal attacks. Never singled out anyone. -
Quote:Wow, great post. A logical solution that works within the story and framework of the game. For internal game-world reason it makes sense to have a lock on getting into the Midnighter club. It's a club and they can have any entrance requirement they want. There's nothing that we actually NEED in the Midnighter club, except the portal to Cimerora.
But there's no reason to limit access to Cimerora based on club membership. There's at least one other mission that sends us to Cimerora without dealing with the Midnighter club.
What the devs should do instead is make Cimerora another one of the zones accessible from the portal in Ouroboros. The only way back out would be Ouroboros, unless you happened to be a Midnighter Club member.
This would require a change to the mission teleport logic, probably, which won't let you teleport to a Cimerora mission unless you've got access to the Midnighter Club. -

Quote:This is what (if not more than) i had in mind. As for the benefit to non-RPers, who cares nobody would force you to buy one. Would be just anther the to waste real money and INF on. Same could be said for the Dog pet, yet the NCSoft made themDepending on how they are designed, they could be a watered down version of SG bases with extremely limited storage, a crafting table, med bay, and maybe 1 TP to a zone of the players choice.
Oh and the ability to decorate 3-4 rooms, and the ability to let teammates in. -

I cancelled my 2nd account I was using to get a feel for F2P and the transition to VIP. And saw the question that asked what would have kept you etc... and one option was
individual player houses/apartments
So i picked it and made the following comment:
7. Please provide any other information that you would like to share in the space below
I am not leaving City of Heroes. This is a 2nd account that I was playing around with. But I had to mention that the idea of individual player houses/apartments is one that had crossed my mind in the past. Smalll apartments in the zone of your choice would be a fun (and for NCSoft, profitable) addition. They must have windows and view to the city (think of the Meet David Odysseus Hill mission in the Mortimer Kal Strike Force). I hope this is something that is in the pipeline.
What do other people think of this idea? has it been talked about ion the past? MY forum search-fu is weak. -
Think you may have misunderstood, he was saying, put a Blessing of the Zephyr -KB enhancement in your travel power. You can use the default slot.

Build looks great, I am sorry i cannot improve on it. But did have one big question. Did you never plan on being Exemplar'd below Light Form or did you plan on having a second build for those times?

Black Leather Angel and I did a test run Sunday Afternoon. BLA's Scrapper and one of my Doms. We got it done in 1:07. It was a very intense, but yet very fun experience.

I am very interested in this challenge and will be giving it a a few attempts.
