Quote:/sign this would also make it harder for players to grief costume contestsNow with the new trail auras added to the game with I20.5 we really need an option to turn off some FX like:
Power pools: Hasten, superspeed, maneuvers, etc...
I want to use superspeed with the new electric trail aura, but without the golden cloud of fire of course...
Same for fly and, lets say rainbow aura. Just turn off FX for pools or give us an option to do so. That way we can handle our character design much better.
It doesnt make sense that sprint, flight or superjump got a rounded aura around hands and feets...
Teammates buffs: Sometimes is just to much stuff VFX happening. An option to turn off teammates buffs would increase graphical performance and would be better for visuals, sometimes it doesnt make sense to have an Ice armor tanker surrounded by flames from thermal radiation. -
costume editing is apparently a no go because then each MM would take up as many processing needs as 7 other toons whenever they had all their pets out.
As a compromise the devs should add multiple model choices ex military, wetwork, plain clothed super heroes, thugs, martial artists, and police choiced for thugs, mercs, and ninjas
Cyborg options for bots -
Why would anyone want to waste a voucher and the assorted merits on unlocking the Alpha slot? It's 1 ultra quick arc where you get to pummel a bunch of AVs I'm tempted to do it on my scrapper but I'm to focused on my main

Quote:I doubt a blaster secondary would ever get 1 meaningful regen power nevermind 2 but maybe a delayed reaction type health power might work; by that I mean a click power that returns every bit of damage it mitigated before it's crash down 1hp of courseHere's my take on a power choice for a Blaster Secondary. Martial Discipline. Notice how, say, Maelstrom is Dual Pistols/Martial Arts? That's kind of what I had in mind.
Three main attacks: Thunder Kick, Crane Kick, Dragon's Tail
Four support: Physical Perfection, Caltrops, Rise to the Challenge, Focus Chi
Two control: Cobra Strike, Crippling Axe Kick
1: Crippling Axe Kick (Minor damage, Immobilize, Fast recharge)
2: Thunder Kick (Moderate damage, Fast recharge)
4: Caltrops (Moderate DoT, -recharge, -run, slow recharge)
10: Focus Chi (Build Up)
16: Physical Perfection (Autopower, +regen/recov)
20: Cobra Strike (Minor damage, Stun, medium recharge)
28: Rise to the Challenge (Toggle, self +regen, enemy -tohit)
35: Dragon's Tail (AoE moderate damage, knockdown, medium recharge)
38: Crane Kick (High damage, knockback, slow recharge)
This isn't really me saying this is how it absolutely should be, it's just a rough draft of my take on a martial arts style blaster secondary. It should be feasible. Opinions, thoughts? -
Are PPD bots robotic drones? Am I the only one who wants Malta pets?

Quote:Ma and Katana for brutes, since shield is drastically better for scrappers I won't be rerolling my Ma/Shield and so I don't know what I'd do with Ma maybe Ma/Invul? I'd definitely do Kat/Elec thoughAnything new secondary for blasters .. port over dom's stone assault or thorns. some kinda dark control/assault , spit balls , badmanners assault i
will take anything new as a blaster secondary cuz it don't look like i will ever get a martial arts blaster secondary for blasters -
Arch/Kin it is if only my connection was reliable
-
I have a Arch/Rad that I don't play and kina plan on rerolling this character should be pretty fast with decent buff and debuff potential which is why I'm considering kin which I have 0 experience with. Help me plz

Quote:How big is the jump for lore? I was considering going tier 4 for rebirth +regen, the only tier 4 I have is Barrier which I will admit is very satisfactory but I wanted to try rebirth. There's lots of things that could be done, but the problem is that the devs created the tier 4 powers specifically to be long term targets to reach for. That's why their costs are set *massively* higher than the tier 3 powers, but have only very small extra benefits in most cases (ironically, Lore has the best jump from tier 3 to tier 4, a power many people skip).
Some things in this game are specifically meant to be chased, and the chase is meant to take a long time. Tier 4 incarnate powers are explicitly designed to be pursuit targets. Players that do not enjoy long term pursuits are actually supposed to stop at tier 3.
Put it this way: if tier 4 was easily accessible, the devs would add a tier 5 that wasn't. Get that reduced to being easily accessible, and they would add a tier 6. The last tier is always going to be the one many people can't get without a ton of work, because in the end game system there is always going to be some fraction of it specifically intended for the players that want to pursue a long term reward and are fast at it. By making it have only a relatively small incremental benefit, they make it an unnecessary pursuit for those that don't want to pursue it. -
I never knew something like this even existed. What issue is the CC up to?

Quote:beam attacks out of normal weapons would be perfect for someI agree, using an arachnos mace for normal war mace attacks would be awesome. Hell, bane spiders both playable and npc do it. Where it falls over though, is the reverse. If you make them both use the same weapon that means either you do the mace beam attacks with a normal mace which would look pretty stupid, or you have to lock people into the arachnos maces for everything if they pick mace mastery which would annoy people. So yeah, probably not going to happen.

It would not be played at range keep the blast set's tier 9, perhaps keep all other attacks as is but at melee range or swap in some traditional close quarters melee but keep atleast 1 true ranged attack(and an APP to add more)

Quote:Wouldn't GvE be the first booster? The steampunk booster trailer looks amazing! I have to actually check it out before I can render my final verdict, but I think it will probably end up as my favorite booster.
I remember talking to Noble Savage at the San Diego Comic Con party last year about ideas for a steampunk booster and I am very impressed with what I have seen. It seems to have just about everything I have been wanting. Hats with goggles on them was on the top of my wish list so I am very glad to see them.
I wish people would stop complaining about the booster packs 'taking away' content or resources from the game. The whole point of the booster packs is to provide additional revenue that allows them the resources to create more content. The booster packs actually cause more content to be created. Granted, some of it is exclusive to the booster, but that's how they get us to buy it, so it has to be exclusive.
When the Wedding Pack (the first booster) came out, its success allowed them to hire more people to work on the game to the benefit of us all. This is what the boosters are for. The only other way to get that extra content would be for them to raise everyone's monthly fee. -
With the recent announcement of the Steampunk Pack and someone necro'ing the Anime/Manga Pack suggestion thread I thought I'd create a thread where we could discuss a potential Anime Pack or other themed packs
I'm not sure what untrademarked anime looks could go into such a pack other than anime faces, raised/spikey hair, oversized weapons(action/combat sandals?) but I think it should include extensive list of martial artsy animations for all existing melee powersets and I know what the pack's power should be, and that's a PBAOE buff based on Shonen staples like "The Power Up" and "The Power of Friendship"
Call it Nakama!
Nakama! can only effect self and teammates including your pet's and their pets. The more teammates boosted by Nakama the weaker the indvidual buff is but the net buff is far greater with more receivig it then less. Does not stack from multiple casters.
Nakama should heal a little dmg, restore a little endurance, reduce endurance cost, increase the damage, the resistance and max hp of all effected
5 minute recharge ignores all buffs
Quote:Most shonen villains have a crew, various dragons and often a quirky miniboss squad examples include The 8 fists, The Noah Clan, The Homunculous, Onten 7, Jupongatana, Gung Ho Guns, Tenchu, Ginyu Squad, Dark Warlords, Espada, Akatsuki, each awakened faction, the reformed band of the hawk(seinen I know) and many more but even for the loner types the power does grant a stronger individual buff the fewer toons there are to get buffed but perhaps instead of calling it Nakama! it could be called Refuge in Audacity! or Beyond the Impossible! "Mine's is the drill that will pierce the heavens!"Originally Posted by AzureSkyCielWell if we're going for pure shonen and to work with villains too (who are almost always loner types in Anime) it should be "100%!" (You are now using 100% of your true power!)
Seriously though, it keeps bugging me how people think anime has a single, unified appearance aesthetics outside a vaguely defined art style. -
the devs should just unlock the axes on both sides of the isle. If character has battleaxe those options are unlocked for mace mastery and vice versa
-
Initially I wasn't for or against but I thought I saw a valid dev argument for the current set up but like Arcana said those shifts are only valid in the trials to begin with. They should move the shifts up to judgment and interface

Quote:Long incantations/animations aside I don't see how sorcery would be different from what the various elemental sets do now is it just that you want one AT to have Kheldian esque power options without being tied to kheldian gfx?I'd most dearly love to see a Sorcery powerset, maybe even two separate Sorcery sets with one focused on more ranged/control and the other focused more on buff/debuff/PBAoE. The ideal way (heck, really the only way) to handle a powerset as broad as Sorcery would be to treat it the same way we do the Peacebringer and Warshade powersets: at least one very broad set with umpteen choices of powers in that set, allowing very different builds with the same Sorcery powerset. If there were fourteen or fifteen possible choices in each Sorcery powerset, that'd give a tremendous range of variability, even with just a single set.
While that sounds like a huge deal, and it most likely is, existing Peacebringers and Warshades already have 14 choices in their primary set and 12 in their secondary set, so this has already been done in game. I'd think that a large percentage of potential Sorcery powers already exist in some form inside other sets, such as various blasts, buffs, melee attacks, holds, etc.; that would cut down the true amount of work the powers and FX teams would face creating such a set. We also already have powersets with different animation options and FX options, further increasing the range of personalization possible for Sorcery powers.
Now, here's my own personal twist I'd put on a Sorcery powerset: I'd make this the new unlockable Epic. Give it for free for players who have reached level 50, and make it a purchasable option for those who can't wait until they hit fifty. This way there's a reward for reaching 50 while still making the powerset available to those who simply can't wait.
Yeah, it's an odd idea, but I really think it could work.

Toe bombing is nice but the potential to get interupted has made that tactic a maybe at best for me, I got rid of trip in my dream build as I needed the slots elsewhere and 1 slotted trip mine seemed like a waste.

Quote:Katanas have never been used with shields, historically, and they're not very well designed for it.
Why do you want to pair Katana with shield? Is this really concept, or just for the better DPS?Quote:A type of 'ninja assault' set where you use throwing weapons like shuriken, throwing knives and a variety of thrown weaponry but mixed with meleeing with said weapons (because you can still cut someone with a knife without throwing it).
I'd like the set for the Stalker AT as a melee set (with some range) but if need be, I can accept it as an assault set for doms.
Currently, the character is a Spines Stalker since it uses the same mechanics. If a new set isn't viable, alternate animations for Thorn Assault/Spines would work as well. -
