War Mace/ Mace Mastery Redraw ::sigh::

Greetings,

Okay This Is Crazy. I Have A War Mace Brute And I Love The Arachnos Soldier Maces. To Have Them On Brute Would Be Beautiful. However After Getting Mace Mastery (And Being Lied To By A Vet Player) I Experience The Dreaded Redraw! Why!? Why Can't I Have An Arachnos Mace As My Primary Weapon If I'm Using A Mace As A Weapon? Shouldn't That Be An Option?

the devs should just unlock the axes on both sides of the isle. If character has battleaxe those options are unlocked for mace mastery and vice versa

As far as I understand it, what the mace looks like has nothing to do with redraw. They could look identical and you'd still have redraw. It all comes down to the animation rigging.

Considering War Mace was added amongst several other sets, I'm not surprised it wasn't looked at how it interacted with Mace Mastery too closely.

The sad thing is, BABs was working on removing redraw from weapon powers entirely before he quit. He had made a lot of progress, too, but with him gone now, I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that not only will we never see that, but we'll never see a developer even so much as mention it.

I agree, using an arachnos mace for normal war mace attacks would be awesome. Hell, bane spiders both playable and npc do it. Where it falls over though, is the reverse. If you make them both use the same weapon that means either you do the mace beam attacks with a normal mace which would look pretty stupid, or you have to lock people into the arachnos maces for everything if they pick mace mastery which would annoy people. So yeah, probably not going to happen.

You know what's even worse.

Bane Spiders with Mace Mastery have to redraw the mace when using the different attacks.

Me, I think all epic pool powers should have an alternate weapon animation that doesn't require redraw. How cool would it be to point your sword forward and let it shoot a lightning bolt

Same with Mace Mastery, just animate it using whatever weapon the player's currently holding, be it a gun, a sword or a bow. Concept-wise, the player just needs to install Mace technology into his favorite weapon, anyway.
