Civilians

I'm sure this has been discussed many times before, but please either allow Villains to kill civilians or prevent Villains from being able to target and attack them at all whilst dealing no damage. They can be quite inconvenient during bank heists with loads of them running around and you're trying to attack the Guards. Hell, if you allowed Villains to kill civilians it could work as a badge just like you get badges for destroying cars, trucks and other pieces of scenery, and for the Heroes maybe an alternative badge can be given for say, saving civilians from other criminals?

Sorry for the rant, I just think that they are an incredible waste of space even when they can be programmed to be something productive and more in-depth with the nature of this game. Saving them as a Hero or terrorizing them as a Villain.

/unsigned for the reasons brought up previously in threads about this topic.

I like having them and adds a little challenge to an already easy game.

Challenge=!Frustration

/Signed. Either that or at least reduce the number of civvies running around in the bank itself. Street? Fine. Inside? No. Annoying as hell.

Oh, and for people trying to play the 'immoral' card (It's pixels...and?) too late. There is already prescedence in the Praetorian Power arc with Bobcat, where everything in the bank is targetable AND defeatable. Yes, that includes those accursed civilains. And thank frag for that, too.

Oh please, inside banks makes how much of this game? You're exaggerating here. But whatever, disagreeing is obviously a bad thing on the forums nowadays.

A challenge? For what purpose? A villain walking around the Rogue Isles and Mayhem missions directly ignoring the opportunity of collateral damage simply does not fit the theme and criteria of true villainy.

Oh, look, where did that strawman come from?

But, by all means, explain to me how having to toggle through about twenty civilains to target the two guards currently shooting you up with immunity because you cannot actually click or tab to them is in any challenging?

I don't think interface bugs count as a challenge in my book. If I can't harm them, why am i even tab targetting them as enemies?

Do you perceive the lag in BAF as a challenge as well?

i completely agree that civies need to be killable

this is one of the big reasons why i hate mayhem mishs because they just get in the way and are plain annoying, they do not add anything but annoyance because they run around making it difficult to get through doors at times and targetable but unkillable means tab targetting is pointless

also, im a freaking villain, killing civilians is just something we do lol

if the civilians were made killable then maybe i would have some interest to run mayhems again, but until then i have avoided them almost completely since i got all the badges from them

1) Make targetable civilians immune to slows. I hate when they get bunched up on a Tar Patch or due to Snow Storm. That's legitimately annoying and problematic.

2) Reduce the activity on non-targetable civilians in normal missions. Their tendency to run back and forth through a room and actually secretly follow the player character is terrible and distracting.

Outside of those two behaviors, /unsigned. In all instances of Mayhem missions, the civilians are programmed to immediately flee the bank once you "aggro" them, which means they shouldn't be much of a problem as long as you wait all of two seconds for them to get out of the way. Also, basic corner pulling strategies instantly eliminates guards "shooting you up with immunity".

Secondly, them being targetable is much preferable for characters with powers that can drain off of lots of targets - Soul Drain, Twilight Grasp, Fulcrum Shift, etc.

Newest tank primary and scrapper, brute, stalker secondary..... Civilian armor. You have 100% resists to all damage types, even unresistable damage.

The downside is you cannot use any other powers and you have to run around with your hands in the air all the time.
