My advice to you, Mad Briar: don't listen to Beyeaj. Even in a mostly helpful community like this, we still get a few trolls.

My advice to you, Beyeaj: quit posting crap in threads started by new players. Dude has a problem, other people are trying to help him, and you're not. If you're not going to help, keep your mouth shut and your fingers off the keyboard.

    *@$/?#~!

I suffered a stress fracture in my right hand about a week before a job interview. Not bad enough to warrant a cast, but oh my god did it suck trying to shake hands. After the first couple of handshakes, I confessed that I'd injured my hand and that it'd work a lot better if people didn't mind shaking with their left hands instead.

At least I got the job.

Worse than that, as cliché as it sounds, was a broken heart back in college. Those stupid anti-depressant commercials that say stuff like, "Who does depression hurt? Everyone. Where does depression hurt? Everywhere." They're stupid, but they're not lying. I ached everywhere... I seriously felt like I was dying from the inside out.

There was also the time I got a second degree sunburn, because I didn't pay enough attention to the fact that the sunscreen I'd applied wasn't waterproof before I spent the majority of the day swimming at the lake... I didn't even know you could get second degree burns from being out in the sun until then!

    Chad hit 699!

Yes, the weekend i16 went live.

And no, we were not running at -1 difficulty when that bug was available. We do things the right way, dammit. Badges r srs biznis.

    Chad hit 699!

    No more farming for badges!

I'll be at 700 supposedly on Monday, provided my Vet Rewards were fixed... so probably Wednesday or Thursday after the petition goes through.

Now to do it all again on my Stalker... ... ... *headdesk*

I thought Villains couldn't get Passport anyway, since they shut down the US -> EU server transfers before CoV went live?

And hey, at least you've got Bug Hunter. I've been trying to get that for years.
  6. I've only got a Stalker that's level 50, but I think I should be available at 5 EST on Sunday. (And you're gonna need a Stalker for the final battle anyway.)

  8. I must be a jerk, because I got a serious kick out of using TP Foe on her and dropping her on top of trees, then watching her wriggle her way back to the lake. She's the Lieutenant Dan of sea monsters ("She ain't got no legs!").

Of course, I then /petitioned it, and then never touched the poor girl again.
  9. It's currently not supported by the MA system, and is a highly requested feature.

If you want two individual bosses that begin fighting each other as the player nears, you can create a group with just one boss each and set them to spawn once per group, and then set them up as a battle objective. They'll give you options for player nearing dialog and for player aggro dialog, but nothing like damage taken or defeated dialog.
  10. Chad Gulzow-Man

    Crossbows?

You can only give custom enemies powers that players have access to (excluding temporary powers and most power pool powers). Players unfortunately don't get any crossbow powers.
  11. CoX actually uses OpenGL, so it doesn't require any particular version of Direct X.

"Aqua Knight" might get genericked, since there is a manga by the same name. (Interestingly enough, it's written by the same artist as Battle Angel Alita, who, if I'm not mistaken, appears to be your avatar.)

Also, there's no "a" in "Sentinel."

All the graphics processing is done on your local machine. The server just tells your computer, "Draw A at X,Y,Z location performing action B."

I'm not saying they shouldn't have told us sooner, I'm just pointing out here that the moderators don't necessarily know all the details of what is and isn't in Going Rogue. I think it's especially likely they haven't seen many of the new costume pieces actually on characters.

Anyway, we can bet they'll take this as a learning experience, and give us the next screenshot with a caption akin to "Sneak peak at Faction X NPC."

    Cow Costume

This is just personal opinion, but the best you're probably going to get for a bull's snout would be one of the rebreather options.

There are a few that are free, as well as some that come with the Science Super Booster.

You got me, and are completely correct. Plus 1 for Westley.

This is how this phrase reads to others: "I'm not saying you're stupid, but if you pay for nothing but the costume creator, then you're stupid."

Different strokes for different folks, dude. If someone wants to pay their subscription fee just to access the costume creator and make new characters, then that's up to them. You don't get to decide how they spend their money, and you certainly don't get to tell them they're wrong.

Whats the point in the game?
To create a unique character to take through the storyline existant in the game.
    Quote:
    To Rescue/conquer the world?
Yes to the first (in the RWZ missions), no to the second. I haven't conquered the world yet. My game must be broken.
    Quote:
Why do anything else then what is designed for?
You mean like access the costume creator, that's the very first thing you see when you create a new character? Yeah, the game sure wasn't designed for that.
    Quote:
And please dont tell me to find another game to play because this is just silly.
I won't, because it is silly. But you really ought to tone down the judgements on how other people are playing, because it's making you come across even sillier.

    Quote:
I have not said the character creator is crap or anything of the sort. Its by far the best there is no denying it. But I also played PSO from start to finish with the same costume (as you couldnt change it) i cant remember ppl complaining about it.
I played Phantasy Star Online as well back on the Dreamcast. It was one of the first games that really let you customize an avatar and was hailed for that design when it began, but that system is quite dated now. It also didn't have much in the way of "roleplaying," other than the fact that it told a story.

City of Heroes, on the other hand, let's people roleplay actively. I'm just gonna go out on a limb and guess that you don't have but maybe one or two characters with a background description filled in. Other people revel in that ability to portray their character to the world by telling their origin stories. But whether you put a background in or not, you character can still "Kill Skuls" as well as any other.

    Quote:
If you take the MMO off the RPG Roleplaying is the only thing left and if they are only making costume thats roleplay then they really aint playing the game are they what happened to missions and stuff? thats all roleplay.
And even though nobody forces you to stand under Atlas and participate in costume contests, the people who choose to are wrong for some reason?
    Quote:
there is alot of great lore behind this game most of which i do know but its good to let a character run through it growing and changing.
Not every character is going to want to do every mission. Some people want to tailor their experience in the game for particular characters. Maybe someone doesn't feel right running Demitri Krylov or Westin Phipps' missions red-side because it involves harming innocent people? Are they not entitled to avoid that content simply because they don't want to experience it?

    Quote:
Most of the alternate costumes ppl pointed out are from different superman series different franchises this does not count superman would have to be about 80 years old (if not older) if we counted all of them.
It doesn't change the fact that he still has at least two costumes at all times: the tights, and the reporter disguise.

    Quote:
If you guys dont buy games because it might look bad or you cant change the way you look you have probably missed out on alot of good games I am currently playing ToS2 and yes it looks very bad graphically but the storyline is just as amazing as all the other TO series
DA:O there is not customization in that after you first create your toon all powers look the same and there is not even a respec feature (yet) Does that make this game crap? I dont see how your ' it would not be successful without customization' argument comes from where this is the first game with such customization
I have no idea what TO means. And as for Dragon Age: Origins, you admit that it lets you customize your character at the start, and yet you say it's bad that people want to customize their characters in CoH? (Also, in DA:O, there's no reason to customize a character once you've created them, since appearance changes based on the armor and weapons you equip--a convention that many people are happy to have circumvented in playing CoH.)

Alright, gotta close this puppy out somewhere. Gohan, seriously, you are in the minority when you say things like costumes aren't important. That very system and its robustness is what made City of Heroes a success. If it weren't for the vast levels of customization, I honestly feel we'd be lucky to have 10% of our current subscription rates at this point. If not for customization, CoH would have never evolved beyond a cookie-cutter hack and slash MMO using office buildings and super powers instead of dungeons and mana.

Again, you're entitled to your own opinion, and there is no "wrong."

... Unless, of course, you tell people they're stupid for paying for something they enjoy.
  19. First post after a bad (but still sexy) Jay.

Nah, who am I kidding, I still love ya. And the NPC looks like somebody my Freakshow Brute will enjoy pummelling.

Shouldn't take you more than 10 days (give or take a few) if you farm it AFK. That's what I'm working on right now. Got a level 54 CoT Guide in a radio mission smacking me with his scimitar for a little over 100 damage per second.

If you have a pocket healer on a second account, you could have two or even three of them attacking you to earn the badge much more quickly, but one is about as much as I can handle solo right now.

((Just to be nice, would you mind shrinking that image down some? It's a tad large. ))

Oh, and gratz on finishing the Day Jobs!

Edit: Oh, and in case you haven't AFK farmed before (which would surprise me since you've got Empath already), the slash command "/maxinactivefps 1" is your friend.

Posi has stepped down from head developer to instead head up an internal taskforce with the goal of creating new end-game content and a new "power-up" system for level 50s. No word on whether that's the universal enhancement slots or not... we'll just have to wait and see.

Not true. Posi stated that, upon hitting level 20 in Praetoria, you get to effectively push the "Be a Hero/Be a Villain" button, regardless of whether you ran as a Loyalist or part of the Resistance up until then.

They've mentioned that the Resistance was the more heroic of the two factions and the Loyalists the more villainous, but everything in Going Rogue is designed to have its own shades of grey.

    The Television

Hey Television, I just wanted to thank you for having all those awful-yet-highly-entertaining movies on the SyFy channel these past few weeks. Given the choice between thinking for myself and staring into the warm glow of the Television, you know I'll pick you every time.

Er, you don't have any problems with me plugging my Xbox 360 in from time to time, do you?

None of your Heroes, maybe. Mine comes from another dimension altogether, and strives to right wrongs and rescue the downtrodden no matter where he is.

Make no mistake, he's not altogether happy with the way things are going in Paragon all the time, either. (For one thing, why is everybody always breaking right back out of the Zig? Come on, people, let's get some super-powered security guards in there!)

    698!

Counting the next two Vet Rewards (69 & 72 months), Bug Hunter and Passport, there are currently 702 badges available for Heroes.

Judy thus has every badge that can be earned in-game at the moment, with a minimum of 4 days until the next Vet badge awards to anyone who isn't bugged to receive them early.

Judy, I feel your pain on the lack of further badging. I'm working on my last damage badge right now, and I'll be done with that by the end of the month, putting me at my cap. Gratz on your accomplishment, and here's to many more badges in the future!
