Just a reminder that the second Strike Force Sunday is this Sunday.
Also, due to the comments made by the participants at the first Strike Force Sunday, (i.e. MORE), and the short length of most strike forces, I'm going to revise the schedule a bit.
The new schedule is as follows:
June 28 at 7:30 P.M. ET / 4:30 P.M. PT: Silver Mantis SF, levels 20 through 25 for experience
July 12 at 7:30 P.M. ET / 4:30 P.M. PT: Operative Renault SF, levels 25 through 30 for experience. Followed by the first Respec, levels 24 through 33 for experience.
July 26 at 7:30 P.M. ET / 4:30 P.M. PT: Ice Mistral SF, levels 35 through 40 for experience. Followed by the second Respec, levels 34 through 43 for experience.
August 9 at 7:30 P.M. ET / 4:30 P.M. PT: Barracuda SF, levels 45 through 50 for experience, (I'm assuming Issue 15 will be live by then :P).
August 23 at 7:30 P.M. ET / 4:30 P.M. PT: Third Respec, levels 44 through 50 for experience. -
Honestly, there really is no legitimate reason not to power level to 50 these days. Thanks to the Flashback system, the only content you could possibly outlevel are the Mayhem / Safeguard missions.
That's generally what I do. Do the level 1 through 5 missions for Kalinda or Burke so you don't have to travel back to Mercy Island for the cape and aura missions. At level 6, head on over to Port Oakes. Do newspaper missions, and unlock the first Mayhem mission. Head on over to Cap au Diable, and powerlevel to level 13. Stop, do more newspaper missions, and unlock the second Mayhem mission. Powerlevel again to level 18. Do more newspaper missions, and unlock the third Mayhem mission. Rinse, and repeat until level 41. After unlocking the eighth Mayhem mission, go ahead and powerlevel straight to level 50. -

Ouch. No offense meant at all, but I'm glad I didn't join y'all, lol. At least it wasn't as bad as the 4.5 hour long Positron TF I was on Saturday. Good job!
Also, bubblers with Personal Force Field and Recall Friend really help with the Positron TF. -

Heh. I made sure not to bubble him after that, but I wasn't about to turn Dispersion Bubble off. I guess that appeased him enough, as I didn't hear anything more about it for the remainder of the mission.
-
So, I've been playing my new Force Field / Dark Blast Defender for a little over a month now, and I ran into this the other day.
"Don't bubble me, please. And turn off your big bubble. I don't like the way they look on my toon. Nothing against you personally."
Now, I've been playing the game off and on for four years. I've heard of people asking not to be speed boosted, and asking Thermals not to buff them. This is the first time I can ever recall someone asking not to be bubbled, and for Dispersion Bubble to be turned off. WTF? -
Dang my needing to be up for work at 6:30 A.M. ET.

We will continue next Monday, same time, same place, with Celestial Lord # 103642 “Defeat the Comics Haven Staff”.
[/ QUOTE ]
And may whatever god you believe in have mercy on your soul. -
Thanks for the great Hamidon raid! It was actually fun. I enjoyed myself, since I wasn't on a melee toon.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Nothin' wrong with bringin' a scrapper.
[/ QUOTE ]
If they have Hover, no. The reason I never bothered with Hami raids after my first long ago is that I felt dang useless, jumping up and down like a bunny rabbit on crack trying to hit a Mito. :P -
Now that I have another level 50 Hero other than a Scrapper, I'll try to show up. Although with only 50 people allowed in the zone at one time, I wouldn't want to take anyone's spot, so I may wait a bit to see if it fills first.
-
What would be the best solo purple IO farmer in your opinion, either side?
-
That is a dang good idea. 10 P.M. is a tad too late for me to start a task force on a work night, but I wish you the best of luck with it!
-
Who am I?
I'm Batman.
Now that that's out of the way...
My name is Jack. I'm a 4'10" 32 year-old guy from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. No, 4'10" wasn't a typo, and yes, I know I'm short.I graduated from college back in 2000, and currently work for the United States federal government as an auditor.
I'm a huge comic book aficionado. I have literally tens of thousands of comic books ranging from the 1960s to today, stored... somewhere and everywhere. My favorite super-hero team is the Legion of Super-Heroes. I'm a science-fiction geek, practically raised on Buck Rogers and Star Trek. I have a model starship Enterprise from the current film sitting on my living room mantle at the moment.
I'm also an animal lover. I have two cats, and I'd have a dog if I were allowed to by my condominium association.
I've been playing City of Heroes off and on for the past four years or so now. I moved to the Champion server about a year and a half ago, and mostly played redside solo until recently. I'm glad I made the move to Champion, or I wouldn't have met some good people here, including a particularly beautiful and wonderful young lady. -
[ QUOTE ]
Wish I could come though. But seeing as Im all the way on the other side of the country I sadly wont be making it either!
[/ QUOTE ]
I hear you. Odds are that I won't be going either. Dang living on the other side of the continent, over 9,000 miles away. Although I do have another (and much better), reason to visit California... Hrm... -
Like it or not, micro-transactions in subscription-based MMOGs is the way the MMOG industry is going. City of Heroes isn't alone in this. MMOGs haven't raised the $14.99 monthly subscription fee in several years in order to remain competitive with each other, despite inflation. So they started adding micro-transactions for additional revenue to keep the servers open and add additional content.

I read an interview with Matt Miller when Issue 14 went live. The issue of additional Mission Architect mission arc slots came up, and IIRC, Matt Miller basically said something to the effect that they would be a paid option only and not veteran rewards, as NCSoft doesn't want to alienate new players from the feature.
-
I would like to play a Night Widow, but all of the example builds I've seen thus far have set IO enhancements slotted. Are they worth playing with only common IO enhancements slotted, or should I not bother?
I've been playing off and on since Issue 3, and I've never bothered to learn anything about set IO enhancements, since common IO enhancements were already a nice upgrade from SO enhancements. -
Arc Name: Defeat the Comics Haven Staff
Arc ID: 103642
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Celestial Lord
Difficulty Level: Difficult. A team is highly recommended.
Synopsis: You are hired by a mysterious man to permanently shut down the Comics Haven web site.. by defeating its staff members!
Estimated Time to Play: Two hours -
I have a level 50 Gravity / Electricity Dominator. If I remember, I'll post his build tonight.
-
Thanks to everyone that showed up and made the first Strike Force Sunday a success! See y'all same time, two weeks from now.
-
I would like to make a new Martial Arts / Willpower toon for PvE, but can't decide between Scrapper or Stalker. Any suggestions?
-
Bots / FF is easy to learn, but as Painful said, extremely boring.
I would recommend Thugs / Dark. It was my first Mastermind, fairly easy to learn, and a blast to play. -
I like my FF / Dark. He's awesome. FF is about keeping your teammates alive, while Dark helps keep you alive with the self-heal.
