Getting a Villian to 50
Most people in-game who have this objective use MA/AE or PL the old fashioned way
BTW, I wasn't trying to be snide in my last post, even though reading it back it might seem like it
I just found out today that AE is the architect missions. What is MA?
PL'ing isn't really an option cause I don't know anyone who can at this point and also.
Strike forces sound cool, that works pretty well. What I was also kinda getting at is which should lvl faster my brute or Mastemind. But I guess if I am SF/AE/MA (Whatever that is) im am depending on a team. Which would be more lucrative to a team?
Aw, thank you
I always worry when using text-based communication - it's often so difficult to detect tone.
AE = Architect Entertainment
MA = Mission Architect
AE missions are made using the MA... so by and large they are used interchangeably.
IMO, both of your characters are viable as candidates for quickish leveling to 50. Obviously, your Brute is slightly closer, but it wouldn't matter much in the long run which you chose. I would recommend that you pick whichever one you like to play as the most.
On a personal note, I am slightly more likely to invite a Brute to my team than a MM, if only because it is easier to play a Brute and therefore I am a bit less likely to run in to crappy players that way.
Ok so can someone explain how to go about getting on a AV farming AE mish? I am kinda over these two characters so I don't really care if I rip through the game in a day haha. I got to 50 with my controller the old fashion way and that took me FOREVER since I am an altoholic and love making costumes and new character ideas.
I agree with 37, but even if I didn't, I wouldn't have a clue how to make a farming mission using AE, or what they are called etc.
I'm sure in-game you'll have no difficulty getting on a AE farm with either character.

I would strongly recommend against doing that. What's the rush?

Lol I want to play a Villain Epic like it says in my OP. Look I beta'd this game. I have played it for years. I love the Villian AT's but I really dislike how gloomy the environment is and a lot more people play CoH so its just a lot more fun to play a hero. I would just like to get an Epic AT asap so I can try something new. I have 12 characters over 20. about 7 of those or over 30 and only 1 is over 40 and that is my lvl 50 controller. I don't really like playing a character for too long at a time and I feel like playing one of these new AT's would spice up my game play and I would have ore fun doing it.
Let me see if I have this right...
Playing in zones you don't like would "spice up" your gameplay?
Also, I have been playing for just over 2 years now, and refuse to be PLed more than a level or two. If I get to the point where I feel I need to PL to 50, I will quit playing and find a new game.
However, you stated that you really like coming up with new characters and costumes and playing lots of different characters. So, why wouldn't you just do that? Isn't the point of the game to have fun?

Ok I think we are at opposite ends of the spectrum. I like making characters, so I want another AT to make character with. I can already see that you have no more advice to offer me regarding my OP.
Its a game, "getting the most out of it" doesn't have any meaning to me. I play for fun, the content of Co* isn't exactly stimulating to me so going through stories and arcs, contacts and dialogue doesn't really get me going. On my lvl 50 I completed contacts to about lvl 20.
I like game mechanics, I like being creative. So making costumes and learning how to play new characters is what I'm about.
You don't really need to add anything because I know your suggestion would involve blood sweat and tears. I have shed much of that already since 2004 so I don't really feel like doing that becasue its a game and its about fun. I feel like I would have a lot of fun playing a villian epic AT, not lvl'ing a tired old villain I quit playing a year ago.
So point of this thread is for people suggest the best way to get my character to 50.
Thanks for your comments so far. Any more suggestions would be great.

Meh, don't let 'em get you down. You certainly wouldn't be the first person who PL'd to 50 solely to unlock VEATs - which is kindof sad IMO because a lot of the arcs picked as "best arcs" are 40+ content in Grandville but I'm certainly not going to criticize since I tend to hate the teens and PL through them.
My recommendation, assuming the build is decent, is to use your Brute. Not because the MM is inferior - if you're a good player it will provide a good bit more to a team - but because there's a perception of both Traps and MMs in general that they either don't do much (Traps) or hurt teams (MMs with bad pet control). And yes, I've run into enough MMs who had no idea how to control their pets that I fall into the second category, despite knowing that a well-played MM will accomplish more than anything else redside and probably through the entire game.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Team, team, team.
When villains team it often becomes steamrollers of doom and the xp flows fast and furious.

/this.
Yes, you're in a rush - but seriously, if you do decide to PL, stop at the 40s, play Kur'Rekt, play Phipps, make sure you play the Television and von Grunn, and don't forget to unlock your Patron.
Oh, and once you do get a VEAT, don't bother with their arcs. Unfortunately, they suck so badly that starting one vacuums every house in a 500 mile radius. (Well, do them through lvl 10, since you get a costume slot.) You know they're sad if I, a content hound, say "skip them." >.<

My post did come off really heavy handed and preachy didn't it? I guess I kinda lost sight of the goal here. Yes, you have my number, I don't like to PL for any reason... but, I can also see where you are coming from. I would suggest taking a look at the couple posts above this one... some solid advice there.
In the name of PLing, the safest bet on Red is to head to Cap and give a shout for farms, advertising as a lvl 30+ will definitely be an advantage to your acceptance rate.
I guess what my whole point was, was that you stated you don't like the drab environment of the Rogue Isles and so don't really want to play through the content anymore to get to 50. That's cool I get that totally... but then you say you want to play a VEAT. I guess, it just seems to me that the RIs will still be uninviting for you, even if you have a cooler newer AT. For me, I learned to love the Isles only after I found a character I could enjoy playing, and I got him to 50... by the end, I knew that I would play both sides of the game.
So, I guess, make sure you will actually like where you end up before you go through the trouble of getting an AT that you might end up hating because of where it is that you have to play it.

I understand the frustration with 30/40+ villians. It can be a grind and it is hit or miss finding anyone to team. I can see the Veat reward yet it still seems miles away.
I find gaining the last few levels villain-side to be a breeze, compared to blue-side. The content is so much more interesting, and there are so many arcs with bonus XP. Plus the teaming always seems to be more arc/content oriented.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Honestly, there really is no legitimate reason not to power level to 50 these days. Thanks to the Flashback system, the only content you could possibly outlevel are the Mayhem / Safeguard missions.
That's generally what I do. Do the level 1 through 5 missions for Kalinda or Burke so you don't have to travel back to Mercy Island for the cape and aura missions. At level 6, head on over to Port Oakes. Do newspaper missions, and unlock the first Mayhem mission. Head on over to Cap au Diable, and powerlevel to level 13. Stop, do more newspaper missions, and unlock the second Mayhem mission. Powerlevel again to level 18. Do more newspaper missions, and unlock the third Mayhem mission. Rinse, and repeat until level 41. After unlocking the eighth Mayhem mission, go ahead and powerlevel straight to level 50.

Assuming solo...
Masterminds require more area-perception, since you are monitoring your henchmen's health, but less button pushing overall.
Brutes require less attention, since you are only concerned about yourself, but more button pushing.
Decent teams and Strike Forces can significantly increase xp/hr for anybody.
I find farm missions boring. I'd do a variety of missions from contacts, radio missions, and SFMA (story-focussed mission arc) type stuff at the MA. The xp/min may be lower, but the time, to me, would be much more enjoyable.
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

Hey guys, I just got back to Co* from about a year hiatus. I want to try out the Villain epics, but no dice on a 50 villain. I have a 32 Thugs/Traps MM and a 34 Energy/Invul Brute. Do you guys have any suggestions on the fastest way to lvl one of them to 50?
I don't care who I play or what I do, I just want to get to 50 the fastest. What would you guys do?
