It's also to give a sense of exploration. They don't tell you that the Hollows has missions all the way across the zone or that Igneous pop out of the ground in the Gulch when you get too close.
I see your point with regards to a few things, but I have to disagree with you and the others that want all this knowledge handed to them. Explore, ask other players, come here and ask, find out for yourself. What I also don't like are the criticisms from those that refuse to even do things and make preperceived judgements and accusations. I'm not throwing all this your way, of course, but there is a lot of that type of behaviour going around in these parts lately. -
Your mission was to talk to a contact in a PVP zone correct? Simply talk to the contact and leave. You don't have to do any missions for them. This is no different from the Hollows. It's mearly an introduction to the zone and that's all.

I almost forgot to pull out my Adamastor avatar from last Halloween.
-
What a great idea. Thanks for the implementation!

Helped Tribal Axe briefly against Nosferatu yesterday.
-
I choked on my lunch again. That's happened 3 times now since I've been here. I'm fine now, thanks.
-
There sure seem to be a lot of Canadians on Champion. Which is a good thing to see! I'm a proud Canuck and am looking forward to the upcoming long weekend.
It'd be great to have a meetup sometime. I'm in Windsor by the way, but grew up near London and spent close to 2yrs in T-dot. -
More likely, it's hold a mouse button and move in the direction you drag. Similar to the way you do this now and rotate your hero but with the added functionality that if you drag the mouse the hero will move, as well. This is my assumption only.

How about Toronto or Buffalo or Detriot or Chicago or even Toledo...
Someplace where I wouldn't have to drive a whole day to get there. -
Welcome to the forums, Captain_Mako!

On behalf of the fans, if I may, I'd like to say thanks for the compliment!
Cheers! -
Better late than never so here I am!
Currently I'm a freelance Flash developer and web designer.
The following are a couple of pics of me with my nephew and fiancee. My personal heroes.
Cheers to all that've gotten here before me - it's a cool idea to let others into a bit of our secret identities. -
You could just go to another forum and start posting that you play CoH and have posted on their official forums. That way you are community representative.
I don't think a mod will answer because a) they don't want the competition for their jobs and b) Bladebreaker gave the most logical answer of checking both Cryptic's and NCSofts sites for job opportunities.
And, uh.. good luck with that. -
Kudos to the resizable map! I can now shrink it down, zoom in and leave it up all the time.
Kudos to the SG window changes/ additions! A lot more helpful and friendly.
Kudos to the slimmed down mission window! Much more intuitive.
Kudos to the free respec! Not all my chars need it but I'm glad the offering is there for everyone.
Kudos for making everyone wrack there brains trying to make the new monsters spawn. Even if it is totally random and the players have no bearing. The conversations that come up are a community builder, if not pretty funny at times.
Kudos to all the Dev posts lately! The dedication to your creation and us, the players, you guys have been showing in the new year is very comforting. Not to mention almost unheard of. I mean Statesman has made, what, 20+ posts in 2 days alone? Astounding. All the Dev's deserve a round on the house!
And as always, kudos for this thread. -
I think the previous poster is over-analyzing.
-
I think this is a great thread.
I think I3 is fantastic.
I think CoH has amazing potential.
I think Statesman has made a lot of posts today.
I think I just got auto-logged for reading the forums for too long while flying across IP.
So I think it's almost time to re-log, but I think I'll read a few more threads first. -
Here here!
A series of kudos goes to the talent and dedication to all the CoH teams!
Kudos to the dream that became our City of Heroes.
Kudos to CuppaJo for her jovial manner, her own dedication, and the balance to which she chooses to use her own powers here. Also kudos to all the mods of these fine forums.
Kudos to the team leads that post for the information they share, their uncanny ability to keep every response professional, their wit and humour and, of course, for their will to keep this game the best out there.
Kudos to all the employees that we never hear from that likely work their butts off to do their best to keep their bosses and us happy.
Kudos to the NCSoft CSR team both ingame and out. You guys are the best CS group I've encountered online or off.
Kudos to all the posters that make this one of the funnest, most giving and forgiving, community in any online game.
Sure you can say it... I'm biased.
Kudos to the players for keeping CoH alive among countless games, both online and off, on the market.
Kudos, CoH, kudos. -
So I was a bit bored and vindictive a few minutes ago and decided to write DEN. The following is a copy of my email:

Mr. Pelfrey,
I am writing in regards to your article regarding your interview with Jack Emmert.
This article was one of the worst pieces of journalism I have ever read. It is obvious you did little research before hand and that you put words into Jack's mouth.
I assume this interview was done over the phone because the consistant typo of "Spriga" Isle is laughable at best. Your incessant use of the "5th Element" is barely readable when anyone who has any inkling of the game knows this villain group is called the 5th Column.
Your most glaring error in this article is the statement about Issue 3 being released on the 14th of December. This is false and apprently Mr. Emmert did not give you a concrete date for this release. Your assumption or misunderstanding of what was said is not at all forgivable because of the fact you release this information to the world ( or whoever visits your site ) when it in completely unfounded.
You call yourself the Editorial Director.. I would demote yourself, personally.
In the future please do some research of the topic at hand and do not make assumptions. Ask if you are unsure and have even a feeling that what the interviewee said could be mistook.
I would edit that article to reflect the truth and use of proper places and organizations within the game.
The only good thing I can is your site has a decent design and fair load times.
Regards,
A CoH subscriber.

The only thing I regret is forgetting to request him to apologize to Statesman.
I don't know if I should expect a reply or not... -
Good point, Clintonian, and thanks for clarifying.
This begs the question then, will CoH be around $30 mark in the spring or shortly thereafter? And, if so, will CoV be the same amount? SWG hasn't been out that long and it's been downgraded in price. Since it has been then that explains why the new Lightspeed expansion is the same price.
Any thoughts on this anyone? -
On a similar note, CoH is almost twice as much to purchase than other MMORPG's. Just today I saw SWG ( original and Lightspeed ) and UO for $29, while CoH was $59 ( Canadian prices ). They already get basically a free month out of us compared to those other 2 games with similar monthly fees.
If the suits do get their way and make players pay separate monthly fees I would hope they at least consider cutting the price for the box by 80%.
I haven't fully decided if I'm against paying a separate fee for CoV yet. I don't want to pay it ( who does), but I can see the reasoning for it since it's basically another acc't where you can make at least 64 characters.
-
Doesn't anyone read anymore? He said he wasn't serious....
He was making a point... I hope. -
My quote still stands regarding addiction, however.
off topic: come from UO with a name like that? Me likey. -
I agree with what Lady_Sadako has said. It's getting clearer from your posts that you have an "obsession". And now it seems that your obsession is getting noticed by those close to you. They care enough about you to try to help you.
I would take Lady_Sadako's suggestion and take some time off and stick to a plan, at least for month, afterwards to show them that you are strong enough to control your gaming habits.
You could even look at this from a self-serving PoV, as well. As she said if you don't do this your gaming privaleges may be revoked entirely. I'm positive you don't want that to happen. As well, regulating your gaming with interacting with the real world will help keep you healthy so you can continue to enjoy gaming for years to come.
One last tidbit. Don't cut yourself short by "living" in an online world created by someone else. The real world is a huge place with an untold number of experiences to be had. Out there you can make things happen that will give you an amazing amount of freedom and choices to make your life far more exciting and valuable than any confined online world can give. Out there is massive; it's far bigger and with more things to do than any game can offer. Take advantage of that. Gaming can be a part of it, sure.
I'll leave you with a quote that I came up with concerning drug addiction a few years ago, and by substituting the word 'drugs' with 'a game' you can see my point:
"You may allow a game to be a part of your day, but do not ever allow a game to become your day." - me -
That's some fantastic character art.
