    Interesting...

Have it be autolevelled to 50 and ONLY in PVP instances...

That could address the 'have to PVE to PVP' issues. Make it more like the Guild Wars model.

With fleshing out, that could be a great system

The nearest PVE route to a Shivan equivalent would be the Rikti ship raid. A single raid gets you enough merits for a Vanguard power core.

One use pet, roughly equivalent to a Shivan (which is 5 use), but with longer duration. Doesn't zone though.
  3. How would adding a 3rd build for the PVPers to equip reduce the amount they take from the market ?

Seems to me like it would increase the drain.
  4. Fusion Force on Triumph was founded in the first few days of the game.

Leader/Founder Emerald Fusion still plays, and the groups (including Legends and Reserves) are still very active

    <edit>
The Redside counter to Fusion Force the Shadow Syndicate was formed in the CoV headstart and is still active.

Global heroics wasn't started until a few months in, but the counterparts The League of Rogue Nations is another COV headstart group still active.

Ugh. I hate those. One that springs to mind is the 'Patrol Independence port for Freakshow activity'

5 very seperated way points, in one of the largest zones in the game.

    Pure timesink material

With that being said, people mention this "cap" thing. What exactly is the cap? Is it a certain amount that each toon is allowed to have at one time,.e.g. $2 Billion for example? And if this is the case, why is there a cap and why is it set at a certain number? I really cannot see anything negative as to why the dev's wouldn't make the cap size larger or maybe even unlimited.
2 billion inf is the cap.
Its limited by the type of variable used in the coding, and changing it is a non-trivial endeavour.

I ran the numbers on Cat a while ago. 12.5 billion, but the PVP IOs have inflated further since then.

Its pretty scary having that result stare you in the face.
  10. Just a note on player retention:

It has been well documented over the years that COX has player retention and a low churn rate that makes other MMOs jealous.

Maybe that is because it was really the only one out there with such a plethora of customisation options for so long.

    Question on Mids

For #2 playing a level 50 doing just about anything will generate a large cash flow

Then add some market activities to earn inf whilst you are logged out.

As an aside merits for salvage is not a good return, merits for a random recipe is much better. Or if you like the steady return, lots of merits for a single rare recipe.
  12. I have one character that has a build that costs more than 1 billion.

The rest, well a billion would outfit 2 or 3 of em. It still is a lot of inf.

The inability to delete old contacts, Im sick of sorting through them. Or have a level range sorter.

Have you tried jump kick recently ? Much shorter cast time than it used to have.
1.5s, which is the same as air superiority, same damage as AS and faster recharge. The only downside is the 20% chance for knockup rather than the 100%

Any contact in your active tab has missions or an introduction for you.
If they have nothing for you they move to the inactive tab.
You really don't need to delete them, the game moves them automatically.
  14. Fixing the bug that stopped the 50s getting double inf, maybe wasn't the best idea.

  16. Fundamentally, SuperHeros are a niche market.

Ontop of that WOW had a huge player base from the previous Blizzard games to get started, now it has critical mass going for it.

What would it take for CoX to be better than WoW?
My answer to that is: CoX is better. It doesn't take sheer weight of numbers to make that happen.
  17. To say nothing that any qualifying PVP victory has a chance of dropping a PVP-IO.

There is a tangible reward involved.
Saying 'no thanks I don't want to' just doesn't cut it.

The implementation here is based on a simple white-list / black-list. Players in a Supergroup can choose to set a flag to only get recipe drops that boost the powers they actually have. So tanks, scrappers, brutes, and stalkers would get recipe drops with equal weighted values towards melee attacks, defenses, and resistances. Blasters would get recipe drops weighted towards ranged, pbaoe, and mezzes. Dominators would only get recipe drops with higher weights on control and mez recipes, with lesser weights on ranged, pbaeo, and melee damages. Controllers and Masterminds would get high weights on pet damage, control, mezzes, buffs, and debuffs. Defenders would get high weights on mezzes, buffs, and debuffs, with lower mezzes for ranged damage. Corruptors would get equal weights on buffs, debuffs, ranged, and pbaeo recipes.

The idea is that players who are flagged for specific drops will get recipes that they can actually use. Every tank, scrapper, and blaster whose gotten pacing of the turtle from Katie Hannon knows what I'm on about here.
So melee characters get drops for their secondaries. Blasters get nothing for theirs (especially a blapper build which is secondary heavy). Defender with ranged damage get less weight for their secondary (which include PBAOE or TAOE).

Tanks Can use your disparaged Pacing of the Turtle in every power of Ice melee, and arctic mastery plus some in ice armour.
Scrappers can use it in most spines powers plus a couple in weapons.
Blasters of course can use it in ice blast, ice manipulation and cold mastery, plus a couple in devices

Seems to me this 'weighting' is more about your personal playstyle and preferance rather than any objective analysis.
  20. With 3 rad infections down, seeds will be at the tohit cap, and the foes at the tohit floor.

That should be the opening power for each character, after that everything else should be easy.
