  1. Hi, well returned to the game after bout a years break, I rolled an DP/Elec Blaster. Did not have any initial plans for it, but now after playing with it for some time I've started to see the goodies. May not be the best synergy set for DPs (nrg I heard is wicked for the +range, which I miss in some occasions) but havin' alot of fun with it. Nice AoE dmg (tho with some knockbacks, but not really a problem in the long run).

    Here's roughly my *final plan* for my DP / Elec, have not finished IO slotting and the slotting is not 100% according to lvl taken, but it's the general idea. Reason I'm not done with IO is that I'm not quite sure what path to take... due to range issues, and that some powers are PBAoEs, I may go for defences, some +recharge due to not fitting Hasten in the build... (heck, may even get rid of some EM Pulse to get Hasten in) As said, am not complete quite yet

  2. Made a quick build for dark dark, and this I think looks pretty good as "version 1". Don't mind the slot order too much, I just slotted in the end to see that I got all the slots I wanted in the powers... Pure SO slots since OP created the post with SOs.

  3. Quick look at the build and I see, way to much end reducers in it. Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud and Obsidian I would drop 1 end reducer. The 2nd reducer doesn't give enough to be worth it imo. Give the extra slots to the attacks insead since you are using them frequently.

    Death Shroud I "may" keep 2x ER, but slot 1xacc and 3xdmg (or 2xacc and 2xdmg)

    Dark Regen I'd go, 2x Rechage reducers, 2x acc and 2x heal

    Cloak of Fear, 1x end reducer, 2x acc and 3x fear

    Soul Transfer... well having that one up when you die is ok, but question is if it's worth having 3x rechagers...

    Generally I slot attacks on tanks (pre-IO) for 2xacc, 3xdmg and 1xend reducer. Some may swap 1 of the acc's for 1x recharger, but I like to hit my mobs =)

    Havn't really played Dark Melee much, but I doubt 1 -to hit in the attacks would be much noticable... go for dmg!!
  4. DB/WP was fun from 1-50, still is... a very survivable toon indeed.
  5. I got a "special" playstyle on my Fire/MM Blaster. I'm geared towards staying in air outta melee range and picked the IO sets to up my ranged defence. Once in a while I make the "dive" into the mobs to: BU+Concentration+DP+PS+Inferno...

    Only power I was a wee bit disappointed on was Fire Breath, the animation was way too long on it imo, so I specced it out. Fire Mastery isn't bad, tho I decided to go Ice, it got armor, +HP and a panic button every once in a while =)

  6. Myself not that known to the Blaster AT since I've mostly been playing Tanks/Scrappers. However I've made my share of blasters in the past. AR/Dev blaster was made long ago and that one is stucked at 39. Planting mine fields was a joy, but that happened once every 3rd blue moon rotation...

    My newest project (surprised it's a blaster myself) is a Fire/Mental/Ice Blaster and that one is totally insane so far. Must admit I've spent LOTS of time with Mid's to plan the build and finally after lots of crunching I've found a satisfied build. As stated before the PvE AoE dmg is very very nice.

    So to sum up... I've had a blast with it in-game AND in Mid's, now that doesn't happen ever day
  7. Aye, US is one of those powers I use on rare occasions with my Invul tank, but also is a power I'm glad I took when things gets a wee bit tight. Made me the "Last one standing" several times

    Learning how to handle the crash will come in time =) You maybe do not HAVE to take it at 32, but at least try it... If it ends up that you never seem to be using it, then toss it away.
  8. Some good pointers, I may have to check more on the Build Up suggestion. A good opener for BU + Shield Charge. 3x heals in OwtS seems also a lil bit wasted on my orginal build, it's not THAT much of a difference (~200). The Gaussian was really nice, and I seemed to totally have missed the Blessing of Zephyr.

    Maybe 2x rechargers is enuff on Active Defence in the end, atm I got 3x lvl 30-35s, which is stacking for around 14 secs. (I rather have it stacked for some time, due to -recharge debuffs)

    Was also wondering how bad AAO is at taunting, appearantly it cannot be very good =) Hard to test it out, even tho I've not had any problems with aggro, Shield Charge does the initial aggro just fine when you do the "Group -> group" tactics. I also seemed to have forgotten bout Steadfast Protect, which I'll have a closer eye on from now.

  10. Okay, starting to close in on the lvl 50 mark on my Shield/Mace Tank. Enjoying it lots and figured it's time to start the lvl 50 builds.

    What I've planned here is to have 1 "solo / "reg small" team runs with a few more attacks, and then 2nd should be geared towards heavier tanking. Both builds will have Self Aid, since I kinda like it. The "tank" build will lack some attacks since I picked up both Self Aid and Tough/Weave, concentrating on the AoE/Cone attacks.

    Slotting orders are "half set", but power order I think feels ok (remember 50s build). There is quite some difference in DEF on Ranged and AoE, where Melee is around 5%. I chose to not go for Purples, but picked some sweet sets, dunno what the price range will land on completing both builds but there's a "goal" set up at least =)

    Another pair of eyes / comments are apprichiated, if I've missed something. Order will be "solo / reg team build" and then "meat tank" build.

  11. Well, solid build imo, if it works well then go for it. Tho personal preference, I prefer Self Aid on my Willpower Scrapper rather than Though/Weave Combo, in the end I recon it's personal choise.

    Since you seem to go for IO bonus sets, I mebbe would swap out th Numinas from Fast Healing or Health for some other healing set just to get extra bonuses, since afaik... 2 of the same set bonuses doesn't stack.

    SoW at 49 makes me believe that this is the "high lvl" build, and really don't see a problem takin' it at that lvl... however, I've not found Web Granade much useful, my personal choise there is Focused Accuracy... (mebbe u found a use of Web Granade I've not done )

    Another thought would "maybe", is to swap out Weave and Web Granade for Aid Other/Stimulant and Self Aid, extra survivability in the long run imo swapping out around 5-6% def all across the board for a self heal. Of course the lack of "soft control" from Spine may be rougher to fire off the Self Aid.

    Not experienced with Spine, but 1 thought came up... isn't Quills slotted a little "poorly"? Having a PBAoE toggle on that is running all the time, wouldn't one want the most outta it? 73.56% dmg, ok but I always like to squeeze the most outta the toggles, considering that willpower doesn't have any damaging auras on it's own such as Fire, Dark.

    Agree, fire toggles are one of the cheaper ones for tanks, so yes, 2nd end reducer won't be as noticable as slotting 1 on the attacks. (or for example Shield toggles, which are 0.52 on 1 or two toggles), but we're talking Fire here with both Consume and Stamina, so 1 is more than enough. =)
  13. When using a respec, I generally tend to try take the travel power at 14, and concentrate on taking Stamina at 20... however, some builds can delay that (consume on Fire Aura does help).

    Fire Shield
    slotting 4x resistance is not really worth it due to Enhancement Diversification (ED), the extra % from the 4th of a same enh in 1 power is really not worth it.

    Generally when it comes to the "protective" powers, 1x end reducer and 3x resistance / defence (depending on the type)... adding a 2nd end reducer isn't a waste if you can affoard the slots. Don't know if you are going IOs in the future and you are planning ahead for some set IOs for Fire Shield... but 6 slotting it is a bit too hefty imo.

    My advice on fire shield is 1x end reducer and 3x resistance.

    Blazing Aura
    Mmm goodie power, skip recharge reducer and add a 6th slot. 2x end reducers, 1x acc, 1x taunt and 2x dmg or 1x end reducer, 1x acc, 1 taunt &amp; 3x dmg.

    Consume: 3x recharge reducers, 2x acc and 1x end mod.

    My combo with DB goes Build up + 1000 cuts + Attack Vitals, then repeat. (I left out sweeping cause I wanted BU to last through Attack Vitals, tho at times if I wanna do lil migration, I go BU + Attack Vitals + Sweep then repeat, less dmg since the total combo is longer. BU + 1000 + AV you don't need hasten to make that combo spinning forever n' ever n' ever n' ever. (okay I do have some +recharge bonuses on IOs to consider into it)

    Rare with Scrappers to herd? I do it all the time if not teaming with tank Sure mebbe not as big herds as a tank, but try to squeeze a few groups.

  17. For DB, hasten is not needed... Attack Vitals + BU + Sweep is keeping you swinging those blades. However, Hasten is not bad at all for Regen. Perman DP (or close to it) is a reason alone to go for Hasten =)
  18. Okies, slapped together a build with slots for my Kat/Regen... Work in progress I think :P Noticed it's enough with 4 slots on the heals if you slap in heal/recharge reducer IOs... ql30+ (instead of 3x heal + 3x rechargers), not cheap but frees up some slots for other goodies.

    So far I've not missed the extra AoE from Flashing Steel, hence why I've planned it so late.

  19. Well I threw a quickie in what I might have gone with. Lvled a DB to 50, and currently working on a Regen, so no experience with those 2 sets together...

    What you have here is Build Up combo at lvl 8, chaining that combo till lvl 18, then you run basicly Build up + Vengenful Strike. At 20, you will have weaken, not a big fan of that combo, but it's an AoE, we all love that

    At 28, you will have Build up + Attack Vitals combo to spin around with, together with a Typhoon now and then. At 32, you basicly have your attack chain... Build Up + 1000 Cuts + Attack Vitals, repeat. Even without Haster, you'll have no downtime throwing that combo. I "think" I tested out that Build Up lasted for 1000 cuts and Attack Vitals, however the dmg is impressive =) Power Slice is well... okay Sweep is nice to migrate some dmg, but the mob is dead before I "need" to migrate some dmg... Weaken I only use if fighting AVs n' such that lasts for more than 10 secs.

    I left the slotting since I'm still working on my baby Regen scrappers slotting. "May" consider Stamina earlier than 30... still considering that =)

  22. Can only speak of experience with my AR/Dev Blaster... Time Bomb is a very situational power... I seem to never get it to "time" right, so respecced it out and went for... something else? I would recon it's pretty much the same for Corrs, but not sure =)

    I've managed to get it once, when I placed a biig field of Trip Mines and a Timer in the middle... things sure went BOOOM that time
  23. Cheers, will put the inputs into concideration, tho found the Repel + Kinetic Crush lil interesting... however one would have to toggle on that power after all them PBAoEs been launched, since the KB protect is only on when ya got repel running...(?) Gonna start messing with Mid's again... :P

I've been going through that in me head... none of my current Kins have any travel powers, but I took SJ just for Acro, however I should prolly have made the build for a +KB Def IO skipping there Acro and SJ.Picking up stealth instead. I figure stealth would let me jump into the mob and launch hell from there

    Dropping Stamina after Transference, hm never thought bout that but a valid and good point, according to Mid's with that setup and hasten Transference recharges every 10-10.5 ish sec and I doubt end would run out no matter how much I want between that (Sappers n' other end draining bastards not included )

    I will see if I can get a build with Stealth (mebbe even invisibility but don't feel that needed since running SS would compensate the -spd in Stealth)

  25. Well, got CoV when it got launched but never really made a baddie and I feel kinda bad So, I thought I'd take some action and make Corruptor. The plan for this char is prolly mainly PvE and be able to stand on it's own (whops mebbe wrong AT?! ) Anyhow, I did some search-Fu but couldn't find what I was looking for, except http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/showfl...ge=6#Post943738 on Rad/Kin.

    My search-Fu seemed to be set on finding "Ice/Kin", those threads where everywhere :P So why Rad/Kin, well I like Kin to start with... hands down Checked all my Heroes I've gotten during all these years and none of the are Rad, so figured "ok, I go Rad then". Did a couple of builds in Mid's Hero Builder and I quickly realized that Rad is lots of AoE/PBAoE... and it hit me, wow AoE + Kin = goodie good, since Kin is kinda melee oriented. Tossed a few builds in the bin, and read some on the forum. Quickly noticed that KB/Stun/Mezz prot is something that Corrs lack.

    Picked up a build that I could slot up Acrobatics (may rebuild if I get +KB prot IO). Soo, what I would like is some Corruptor gurus to have a check on the build I've made and mebbe put a comment or two, the Arch power choise was well I saw a AoE in Soul Drain and thought ok, 1 more
