Quote:Erm, what "very significant effect" does double stacked Domination give which single dom doesn't?Why do a lot of people seem to forget that Domination has a very significant effect beyond Mez protection and end refills?
And yes, you get no extra mez from stacking (Per Muon's post), but I'm really just curious why the main effect of this power is often left out of lists when talking about Domination.
It certainly doesn't add any extra mez above just single levels of dom, that's for sure. -
250 million is my pure guess.
Based on nothing other than there's a bit of a gap on guesses down there. -

Quote:Forgot to say, of the choices you gave that's what I'd pick, but if I was going for a pure soloist Domi myself I'd probably end up picking Mind/(Energy or Fire). Thanks for the responses guys, I think i'll give Earth/Fire a try.
Earth is awesome on teams with all the AOE controls you get but isn't the strongest in terms of single target mezzes. Mind is the strongest domi set in terms of single target mez IMO. -
Power Boost will only really affect Stalagmites for an Earth controller. I'd go with Fire because it is an excellent ranged set. Not needing to get close to your foes to kill them quickly is rather useful when you are squishy.
The extra damage from Fiery Embrace means you can very quickly take down enemies, especially if you play the "pull them around a corner into a Quicksand/Earthquake" card, letting you FE -> Fire Breath and then take them out with your other blasts.
Anyone getting too close can be held and Incinerated.
IMO Earth/Fire and Fire/Earth are two perfectly complementary combinations, they work better that way compared to the more thematic Fire/Fire & Earth/Earth -

I believe it is due to some Ritual the Ebil ones wish to perform.
They require the woe and angst of the lower classes in order to fuel it, thus they need to whip themselves up some woe and angst from which they can feed. -
Quote:And people will still complain about things like drop rates and getting hit too much in combat and assume the RNG was borked in the last patchAnd to take that to the next step what's going to happen when quantum computing becomes mainstream?
I suppose random number generation will become even that much more "random-er".
Quote:The thing is ... NOTHING is random .... nothing either man made or natural, everything has has a cause and effect, -
Quote:This thread is interesting when there are about a half a dozen threads elsewhere in these forums started by Devs specifically asking players for their opinions on things they want and those answers are translating into future plans for the game.
Other than Castles alternative animations for powers (something which has in the past been something much more likely to be asked by BaBs) most of the other ones started ages ago though (like Jays cossie request one). -
Quote:Ah, I see. I wasn't in beta so didn't see that process occur.Um, entities which use the new Fiery Embrace all had their attacks changed to allow for it, as I recall. Powers gained the bonus in stages (first it was tanker primaries only, then PPs were added, then APPs, etc during beta.)
Cthulhu love the poor Intern who had to do all of that.
Yeah, I wouldn't wish a process where some poor random code munkie had to change every attack power in the game on anyone.
Unless they could do it via a batch job / script of course. -
Quote:Phew!!
I thought it was going to be the one with Jack Black in DJ Lances orange jumpsuit. That was a sight to put me off my cornflakes.
The Ting Tings have been my 3 year olds favourite band for over a year now, and we still haven't managed to catch the Yo Gabba Gabba with them on it yet in the mornings. -
Quote:Necromancers Soul Extraction can do the same thing, there can be 2 of them out. And like Fluffies they also stick around if you die, avenging you.As far as I know only Warshades got missed by the "one instance of a pet at a time" nerf back in what, issue 5?
With enough recharge a Warshade can keep out nearly 3 Dark Extraction pets full time. Unfortunately Controllers can't do this anymore... and I didn't get a 'troller to 32 until LONG after that nerf. -
Quote:Pretty much yes. If the damage goes up then the set is correctly being passed down to Frozen Aura.It is hard to say how much we can follow CoD. Demon Summoning just barely made it onto that site before it went into maintenance only mode. CE on the Prince is still listed as a toggle and Frozen Aura is not a low damage attack, the damage value on CoD is incorrect. However, it may be flagged incorrectly anyway, so it is probably worth checking into that.
If the damage of the Frozen Aura is affected by pet sets, is that a sign that the end cost is also likely affected? -
Quote:Agreed, it's almost zen anti-marketing to be able to pull that off.*
There is an ever decreasing amount of red name feedback on the boards as a whole. A couple of months ago this was put down to "They are busy with Going Rogue". Now that is complete I can't see what excuse anyone could give for the ever decreasing amount of redname interaction (ignoring GGs witless "Jam tomorrow" style excuses). -
Quote:Just stick a door in the ground in both Wentworths and the BM to an underground vault with Surpression and a table in it, that way it is feasible and acts as an opt in for those who dislike powers running when they are shopping. That's your opinion. I happen to love the AH in Praetoria. The room isn't large so it only takes a few seconds to walk over to one of the AH contacts and the peace and quiet is wonderful. No lag caused by jerks running all their toggles. No idiots hopping around in circles. No twits self destructing. No punks aggravating people with unasked for buffs. No stupid arguments when some loser gets offended because he was politely asked to turn off his toggles or stop buffing someone.
That being said I don't expect them to carry it over to the other factions because Wentworths and the Black Market were designed to be in the actual open city zones. You don't have to enter a door to get to them. -

As per Ricks post I suggest you read up the Lost / Rikti relationship. The Lost aren't a race in any shape or form. At most they are a gang which is basically used as a way of generating reinforcements.

Why do a faction who specialize in kidnapping / inducting the homeless and doing [Omega Clearance Required] to them need to breed?

Quote:Mu from the PPPs looks pretty good for a Fire/TA actually. Energy based AOE for Lighting slicks, a better than Consume +End power and 3 other useful powers (a Resistance shield which also offers NRG resistance, a God Mode power and/or an occasional pet who comes with a single target heal). Mu is the only APP/PPP I've come across where I actual want all 5 of the powers in there.Really enjoying it so far. Up to 35 (I posted a different question on the board above) but I'm gonna be thinking about APP/PP soon.
What would go nice with this do we think?
Earth APP always goes well with Fire too, the melee and AOE play well with the need to be in close for Hotfeet and you can stack the stuns. Poo armour looks like poo but the defense is nice and a self-heal/HP boost would be nice as well. -
Quote:PGA is a set 60% chance to make something sleep.I've been enjoying my Fire/TA for a couple of weeks. He's now 35 but I've been noticing that Poison Gas Arrow seems to be broken
In the description is says it's a debuff and it can make targets sleep: It can only be slotted for sleep - and yet I've NEVER seen it work like that. It's an aggro magnet if I use it without mitigating first.
Is it WAI or is there something missing (in my understanding or the description): It seems to me it may be much more of a debuff than a sleep - in the same way that say, World of Confusion is more about damage than confuse.
Any suggestions, tips, advice gratefully received.
So chances are you are sending 3/5s of the spawn asleep and the other 40% are shooting you.
It's not the most useful of effects but the -Damage is nice. It's still a pretty skippable power though -
Quote:But if you consider Castles recent change to Fiery Embrace you don't necessarily need to change every critter & player power in the game to allow it. You just give the player an aura power which inflicts a negative Fiery Embrace proc affect to enemy attacks within range.
Now, one solution might be for every attack programmed onto a critter (actually, every attack in the game, since it would need to work in PvP, too) to have a component that damages the caster if a given state is set. This is how Assassin Strike works (not to mention Containment) an additional damage component is added if you are in the Hide state. You might call this a "Reflect" state, and if your foe is in the Reflect state, you take the damage. That would be originated by the attack itself and you wouldn't need to poll for it.
The amount of work it would take to add a Reflect damage to every single attack in the game, critter and player, would likely make it not worth the effort. Plus, it would have to be a constant effect, it would not be determined by YOUR level, but the stats of the critter attacking you, and couldn't be Enhanced, or buffed by your damage buffs. (So it couldn't be a proc. The only control you would have over it is turning on the Power that turns on the "state")
Obviously I've no idea if that's what Castle was talking about as being Cycle intensive or he was referring to another, older, more correct way to simulate Reflect damage. -
Quote:Why do you want to? There's not that much reason to do so nowadays given that the damage buff doesn't exist in Domination mode any more. All you'd be doing is refilling your Blue Bar, and maybe stacking more mez protection on yourself (not sure if the mez protection can self-stack).How much recharge does it take to make a double-perma-dom? I drafted up a few builds (with different sets combos), at max I can only get +125% without haseten. So, still short of 200% with hasten on.
Is it possible to make a double-perma-dom without outside buff, like SB?
Thanks
